Alessandro's pov:She clutches onto my t-shirt’s collar, and pulls me closer, now, she’s in my lap. And the way she’s grinding on me as I deepen the kiss is challenging my self-control. “Sheesh! There’s a kid that lives in this house,” Harlow shrieks. Amber and I take some time to let our breathing get back to normal before we stand up. “Harlow, I’m married now, you’ve got to learn how to stop popping up out of the blue,” I tell him. “Sure, I’ll get myself accustomed to it, but there’s something very important that you’ve got to know,” he says with a neutral expression.“Amber, get some sleep,” I caress her cheek before walking out with Harlow. We sit in his car, and he drives me to Javed’s house, from there, we retrieve his laptop, which has data stored about our father. Harlow gets Ken on the line.“Ken, long time no talk,” Harlow orders, “I’m mailing you a few documents which have been encrypted with a password, you know what you’ve got to do.” Then, he cuts the call before Ken ca
Amber’s pov: Words fail to leave my mouth as I encounter her. “Amber,” she says in a somber tone which was almost genuine, “I’m sorry.” I’m sorry what? Did I hear her right? “After I lost the one person that I cared for the most in the world, I realized how wrong I was for trying to break up you and Alessandro. My father used to talk about the purity and serenity of marriage whenever I used to complain about how Alessandro was not mine. He always tried his best to comfort me, but I failed to understand what he meant and now, he’s gone because of my recklessness.” She sobs, and my heart feels a sharp pain since I knew what it was like to lose a parent. My tough external shell faded away the minute she apologized in between sniffles. I hugged her, and said, “I never expected it to go down the way it did…And if I knew what would’ve happened, I’d take it back, Julia.” She pulls away from me and says, “I don’t deserve your sympathy, Amber, all I ever did was hurt you.” I believe in seco
Amber's pov: In the blink of an eye, he pins me to the wall, my hands above my head, and my toes on their tips. He kisses me, both his hands on mine, holding them up. Our tongues dance together until his phone rings. I feel dizzy as he pulls away. He cuts the call, and whispers in my ear, “Bye, Tesoro, I’ll be back soon.” He walks out of the door, then, pokes his head back in to say, “Pick it up.” I look down only to realize that my towel is on the floor. Now, I need another shower, a cold one. Alessandro texts me to let me know that he has reached Romano while I’m engrossed with my work at the art gallery. The next day’s lunchtime arrives. Bianca has holidays this week, so I’m glad to have some company. Some bodyguards surround the whole house, and security has been increased for my art gallery errands as well. “Hey, Bee, I’ll be right there for lunch,” I tell her as she scrolls through her phone while being seated at the table. I quickly change into Alessandro’s “favorite” PJs,
Amber had no plans of moving a muscle even when Dante’s voice reached her ears. She was frozen in the position. “Amber, I know exactly how to access that hidden spot, so I suggest you crawl out of there yourself, or else I’ll have to drag you out by your hair,” Dante growled. He was ruthless. Amber didn’t budge, she was too afraid to move. “Don’t tell me I didn’t warn you,” Dante said before unlocking the door. The open door exposed him to a very afraid Amber. His face carried a serious expression. “Get up,” he warned with his tone, and she had no choice but to oblige. She was still hiding the loaded gun under her top, but she was unsure of what to do with it. She slowly walked toward Dante, he said, “Faster, I don’t have all day.” Amber knew that it would be best to waste time, so she asked while standing in place, “Have I seen you before?” Dante said, “Maybe you have, maybe you haven’t, doesn’t matter, walk.” Amber didn’t budge, she wanted to question, but she was aware that
Their eyes never left each other. Alessandro and Amber recalled all the beautiful moments that they had shared; each moment was filled with passion and emotion. “Alessandro,” Amber’s trembling lips whispered, “Thank you.” He could make out what she was saying, so he shook his head, and said, “No, thank you.” They thanked one another for various reasons; ones which were connected to their mind and souls. “Both of you make quite the pair,” Dante said as he noticed their exchange of words. In between, he received a call, he stepped out of the hall after ordering his men to stop. “Listen to me carefully, I need you to spin a web of lies to create a phony trail which will lead to her doom and eventually, that of his as well,” the voice on the other end of the call said. “But-” Dante was cut off with, “No if’s or but’s, you will do as I say. Alessandro deserves to live a little longer…There’s some more pain that I’d like to give him before he’s completely wiped off the face of the Earth
“Alessandro, open your eyes.” “My child, wake up.” Alessandro’s eyes open and he sees his father in front of him. “Where are we?” Alessandro asks him as he sees the white light surrounding them. His eyes fail to register what’s in front of him, all he sees is a hazy image of Amos. “We’re somewhere in the middle, my son. Listen to me carefully,” Amos’s voice is loud and clear. “Alessandro, you’ve been through enough…Live for her, my son. She is all that you need; she’s your angel,” Alessandro hears his Papi speak, but he can’t see him. “My death turned you into the monster that you were afraid to turn into, but she’s here to pull you into the light, give into her. Allow yourself to feel the happiness,” Alessandro feels Amos’s arms on his shoulders. “But, what if she leaves me?” Alessandro asks, paranoid. “There are chances at all times, but the choice is in our hands, if you choose right, then she will never leave you, my son,” Amos’s voice reverberates in his ear. “I miss you
A knock on the door interrupts Amber and Alessandro’s kissing session. Alessandro grumbles as Amber goes to check out who it is. She is greeted by a man who introduces himself as Ivan Flavia, and Alessandro allows him to come inside. Ivan sits at the end of the bed and says, “Alessandro, Dante has sent this piece of paper for you and only you. Not even Harlow has seen it, he advised that you see it in solitude.” Alessandro thanks Ivan and asks him to leave. She walks towards the bathroom. “I need to take a shower, a cold one,” she says before stepping into the bathroom. Alessandro opens the crumbled piece of paper, and it reads: Two birds hate one another but unite to take out the enemy together. Alessandro understands the hidden meaning, but this is not enough to put his finger on the people, but now, he was sure of the fact that there were two people involved in the crime. The next day, Amber lets Alessandro know that she has to head toward the gallery, and he makes the neces
Amber’s pov: The shooting session went well, I feel great after firing for the first time. The power that rushes through your veins should not get to your head, Alessandro told me that, and I shall keep that in mind. He is off to work; trades, business meetings, and whatnot. I have the day off, and he has given me the chance to pick a place for lunch, we’ve already gone to the cafe…Mhm, let me pick something that is in his favor. I cannot bother Bee, so that leaves me with Harlow. I gave him a call…No response. Over the past week, he and I had bonded over Alessandro, and snarky punchlines, he is fun to be around when you’re in his good books. My phone rings. “Amber? What do you want?” He questions. “The name of Alessandro’s favorite restaurant…” I utter without a stutter. “JHgsnfj,” he responds. “What?” I question unable to comprehend what he said. “Hsnrjek,” he said this time, and I just waited to assume that it was a poor connection. “Okay, bye!” He cut the call, and I planted
