Third Person Pov

It is another wonderful day, and Hayden has made his way to his workplace as early as usual. He had decided to leave without checking up on River so as to not disturb her sleep.

Again, something he shouldn't care about. Why on earth did he care? He still had no idea.

The sound of the car screeching to a halt in front of his restaurant, jerks his attention and focus back to reality.

A sigh escapes his lips, as he patiently waited for the driver to pull open the door for him. He puts on his face mask, before stepping out of the car and then into the restaurant.

The moment the entrance to the restaurant is pulled open, everyone freezes in fear. No one needed to tell the customers the owner of the restaurant was here, the way they all saluted him as he walked by already said as much.

Hayden doesn't spare them a glance, as he walks past them all, with only a slight dip of the chin as acknowledgement.

His guards follow him to the elevator. However, only five of them accom

  • My Mafia   Chapter 36

After the introduction on stage, Hayden officially opened the event; with a toast. "You stay with Mira, I'll be right back." He had whispered in my ears, after Thomas had whispered in his. I had just nodded, watching him leave with a surprisingly serious face. It seemed something serious had happened. Mira appears behind me, moments later. Silently, she escorts me to a seat, where I stay quietly for a while. Absorbing all the details of my current surrounding. The fact that this party had been held just for me sinking in deeper. I had totally forgotten that today was my birthday. I had been so overwhelmed with the grief of loosing my mother, that I had forgotten what true happiness felt like. From the corner of my eye, I could see Mira move closer to me. Before crouching down to my level, in front of me. She opens her mouth to speak, but is interrupted by the sound of clicking heels. Which I hate to say, was drawing nearer. "Oh my, why do you look so depressed?" A familiar

Third Person Pov:In the dark room, there sat Paul E. It seemed lost in thoughts, the only light in the space seeping in from a neglected crack in the wooden wall. He had ordered that no one disturb him, but they had just received some good news. He needed to know, so one of them gathered enough courage to approach him. During his seldom alone time."Pardon my intrusion," the spy says, eyes low and head bowed. Paul clicks his finger against the glass of whiskey he had been drinking, before setting it down gently. He releases a whistle, "You better have a good reason for interrupting me, unless you are prepared to die.. that is." He says, cocking his head to the side, clicking his tongue. The spy swallows, willing his vocal cord to open up as he braces himself. "We've got incredible news, sir." He starts, peeking Paul's interest immediately. Paul flicks a hand, his back still turned away from him as he urged the spy to carry on. "Mr Hayden has organised an event for tonight. He wi

  • My Mafia   Chapter 34

Changing from dress to dress was exhausting, and the funny part?We bought more than one dress, well technically he bought them for me... but that's not the point. The point is, we went shopping for a dress, but came back with countless dresses.I sigh, carrying some bags as we near the car. He pauses, hands over the bags he was carrying to a guard; then he turns to me."I forgot something, I'll quickly go get it. You get in, I'll be with you soon." He says, and without waiting for my reply he turns around swiftly and makes his way back. I slowly shut my mouth, swallowing the words I wanted to say.I let the guards escort me back to the car, and watched them put the bags in the boot. Before opening the door to the passengers seat, and then slipping in, shutting the door after me.The driver gets in, while the guards remain standing at strategic positions to ensure my safety before Hayden returns. I sigh softly, turning away from the window, as the silence envelopes me while I wait for

  • My Mafia   Chapter 33

Just like every normal work day, I had woken up early this morning. It took a lot of will power to drag myself out of bed, especially after the stress I had yesterday. I just couldn't shake off the cold tingling chills which run down my spine each time I'm around Loreen. Ever since she resumed work, I've spotted her staring intently at me. It felt off, it felt cringe... it felt like 'danger'. I sigh, eyes still on my reflection in the bathroom, my mind drifting to another problem. Then there's Hayden, who somehow managed to creep into my head and remain there. I just couldn't shake the feeling that things had changed a bit. Maybe it was the way he spoke to me or the way he was always there when I needed him. Whatever it was, a part of me is scared to find out. Especially after the ordeal with my dad as a child. The trauma of the abuse has left life long scars in my heart, because of that; I fear attachment of any kind. Specifically, to Hayden. I shake my head, clearing the clo

  • My Mafia   Chapter 32

Third Person Pov: The silence in the car was awkward as they progressively drove to their destination. Hayden focuses on his tablet, the sound of his fingers moving on the keyboard filling the air. Thomas on the other hand, is busy on the phone. Sweat sliding down the poor driver's head. The silence was tense and thick, as thick as a blanket. Suddenly, Thomas locks his phone abruptly, turning to Hayden with a sluggish grin on his face. "Why do you look so uncomfortable?" Thomas teased. Despite Hayden's face remaining neutral, his body betrayed him. Thomas could see him stiffen for a moment. "What do you mean?" Hayden asks, voice slightly tense, as he focuses more intensely on his tablet. "I don't know...but; it seems you've gotten so used to her being in the same car as you." Thomas adds, whistling as he faces the window. Hayden stiffens, before baring his teeth at Thomas with a warning glare. "Mind your tongue, unless you want to show up in more than one piece." He

Third Person Pov: The ride was unusually long today. Though it didn't feel tense. It felt normal. Normal... It had become 'normal' to come to work everyday with River. Hayden had no idea how this had come to be. Either way, he was perfectly fine with it. With a sigh, he heard River shut the notebook infront of her. Before turning her eyes back to the window. She seemed... worried. Bothered even. He wanted to know what is was. What was bothering her too much? The strange feeling crawling back in his chest. That feeling he had, the one which felt like he wanted to take away all her pain; and erase anyone who caused her discomfort or harm. He couldn't stop himself, and he didn't know why. "Speak." He finally says, breaking the silence which had settled over them both for a while. His voice cutting through it like a clean blade. He could feel his driver tense, but fortunately the man didn't say or do anything stupid. River only sighed once more, peaking his curiosity
