LOGINChapter 6
FINNELY'S POV
Three days. That was how long it took me to find her because her scent was too faint to follow.
I followed the trail of the scent she left behind after she was banished from the pack, and now I was standing just outside her door.
"Who are you?" She demanded, her face pale.
"I swear, I do not mean to scare you," I told her calmly.
"Then who are you and what do you want from me?" She demanded again.
"My name is Finnley, from Willow Ridge pack, and I know you know what I am. You're Freya, Elder Victor's daughter..."
"Okay, and?" She snapped holding on tightly to the door as though she intended to bang it in my face any second.
"A lot has happened in the pack since you left so I came to..."
"And why would you think I'd be interested in anything you have to say concerning Willow Ridge?" She asked with a scoff. "I was banished, everyone saw them cast me out. I have nothing to do with them anymore so you'd better go back and leave me alone." I could hear the pain she felt through her shaky voice.
She began to close the door but I stepped forward quickly to stop her. I had come this far already, I couldn't just leave.
"I think you'd change your mind if I tell you what has happened to your sister."
She hesitated a while before shaking her head.
"Still not interested. I don't care what happens to anyone out there," she replied and began to close the door again.
"Please, just hear me out," I said desperately and noticed her contemplate it for a while.
"I'm not letting you in. What do you want to say?"
I swallowed before I began. "Your step-sister has just convinced the council to stay with Alpha Gideon as his..."
"Cassandra found a mate?" Freya's eyes popped in surprise.
"No, no...well, at least not yet. He never had a chance to mark her before he collapsed during the mating ceremony. But she's acting as his foster mate for now and helping to take care of him."
"Well, I guess none of that has anything to do with me so why are you here?"
"Freya, I think it has everything to do with you," I responded and she gave me a quizzical look.
"How?"
"I work at the pack house, and three days ago, I overheard Alpha Gideon call your name repeatedly in his unconscious state."
Freya froze at my words. "That... that's not possible. He doesn't even know me, maybe it's... someone else... another Freya," she stuttered.
"That's what I thought, until I found out your full name was Freya Donovan, and that was the exact name he called."
Before I could say another word, she reached out and grabbed me by my shirt, pulling me into the house.
I was dirty and bleeding from different wounds but she did not seem to notice as she banged the door close and turned to face me.
"How's that possible? Maybe Cassandra's told him terrible things about me?" Freya asked with concern.
"I honestly don't know," I responded truthfully. "But the Alpha's terribly ill. He's been so sick that some of our people fear he might not make it through the sickness alive," my voice dropped fearfully at the thought of that happening and I forced down a swallow.
"No healer has been able to revive him since he fell ill and now, the council thinks it might be a curse. But I have a feeling there's something they're not telling us, I know someone is hiding something but I can't figure anything out by myself. Everyone else I've told thinks I'm just overthinking."
"What makes you think there's something else going on?"
"Well, for one, it's too coincidental that Alpha Gideon, strong as he is, suddenly fell ill on the day of his mating ceremony. A day later, Elder Reginald called on the council and asked the others to cast votes on what steps to take if the leadership had to be changed temporarily."
"Elder Reginald..." Freya repeated remembering the stern looking man with cold eyes.
"Exactly. He seems to be the one in charge now and I just think there's something off about the whole thing."
"What about..." She hesitated then looked away. "Beta Julian?"
I shook my head at her question. "He's been away for a while now. I think it has something to do with the rivalry with Alpha Damon. You have to find a way back and find out how you're connected in all of this, Freya," I insisted and she sighed, rubbing her temples.
"We'll figure out what to do later, but before that... what the hell happened to you?" Her gaze lowered to my injuries, finally noticing them.
"Oh, I was attacked by Alpha Damon's men on my way here, but I'm sure I'll be..."
She was already walking to one side of the room to get a kit before I could get the rest of the sentence out.
"Sounds like he's not going to stop trying until he finally breaks through our walls?" She muttered as she set the kit down beside me.
"He's not going to," I added and waited for her to agree but she never did.
We fell into silence as she cleaned the wounds. Then, she slowly ran her fingers over them and my brows pushed together when I could feel the skin tingle.
"What... what was that?" I asked when she was done.
"Nothing, you should go to sleep. You've come a long way," she said, standing. "I'll get a clean shirt for you."
"Thank you," I muttered as she walked away.
A few seconds later, she returned with a new shirt that almost made me ask who it belonged to because it was a man's shirt, but I held my tongue and took off the dirty, bloody shirt I had on.
I tossed it to the floor to put on the neat one, but the sound of a faint thud drew my attention to the dirty shirt.
"What was that?"
It was no surprise she had heard it too with how silent the house was.
Immediately, I picked the shirt and began to check through it.
Then my fingers felt something.
Freya gave me a quizzical look as I tore the shirt to check the lining for whatever had made a sound.
"Oh shit," I muttered as I took out the small device.
"What is it?" She snatched it from me. "Is this..."
"A tracker, yes," I completed shakily. "Damon's people must have planted it when they attacked me."
Freya stood frozen for a while as she stared at the tracker but I could hear her heartbeat quicken.
"This means one thing," she looked at me. "They know where I am."

Chapter 5: The Weight Of Two LinesFREYA POVEvery other sound dulled out in my head, leaving only one word echoing endlessly: pregnant, pregnant, pregnant. The echoes grew faster until the words melted into each other. My mind felt like it was spiralling out of control."Freya?" A mumbled voice called. "Darling, you alright? Freya!" Suddenly, the spiralling stopped and I blinked, seeing Dr. Patel's staring at me with worried eyes."Are you alright? Do you want me to get some..." "No, I'm fine, Doctor," I cut her off quickly with a small, forced smile. Tears threatened to spill from my eyes and the last thing I wanted was more pity and compassion. I already had Doctor Carver and Elena treating me that way."Are you sure?" She sounded unconvinced."Yes, the news was just... unexpected. I had to sit with it for a while," I fake laughed."Unexpected?" Concerned lines formed on her forehead. "Freya, I understand that you're a grown woman, but if you want to talk or..." "Trust me, Dr. P
CHAPTER 4: One Night's Big SurpriseFreya's POV**Three Weeks Later**“Hello…? Earth to Freya… are you still alive?!”The loud knocking on the supply room door jerked me back to reality so fast I nearly dropped the box of bandages I was holding. I blinked hard, rubbed my eyes with the back of my hand and tried to look normal. Elena Ramon stood in the doorway, one eyebrow raised, arms crossed like she’d caught me stealing cookies. Her dark curls were pulled back in a messy ponytail and that big grin of hers was already spreading across her face. “You okay in there, girl?” she asked, stepping inside. “You were staring at that shelf like it owed you money. What’s going on?”I let out a shaky laugh and set the box down before I really did drop it. My head felt like it was spinning on a merry-go-round that wouldn’t stop. “Sorry, Elena. I zoned out. I’m… really feeling dizzy today. Like the room won’t stay still. I don’t know if I should even be here working right now.”Elena’s smile fa
CHAPTER 3: The Mark That Ruined MeFreya's POVDid I spill something on my dress? Was my hair a mess from last night? I glanced down at myself but everything looked normal. Then I noticed the whispers starting around us. People in the crowd turned their heads. A few pointed. Others stepped back like I smelled bad. One older lady clutched her kid’s hand and pulled him away, muttering loud enough for me to hear.“Disgusting,” she said.My cheeks burned. What the heck was going on? I spun around, searching for an escape but the whole pack gathering felt like it was closing in on me. Everyone buzzed like bees around spilled honey and I caught snippets of talk.“Is that really her?”“An Omega? Marked?”I touched the back of my neck without thinking and it felt a little sore like a bruise from a love bite. Oh no. My feet moved before my brain caught up. I pushed through the staring crowd and ran straight to the big window on the side of the meeting hall. I leaned in close, using the glass
CHAPTER 2: A Night To RememberFreya's POVFor one terrifying second, I thought I’d made the biggest mistake of my life!My heart pounded like it wanted to escape my chest.. I opened my mouth to scream or shove him away or something when his lips crashed into mine.I froze, eyes wide behind my mask.. then something in me melted. His mouth was warm and sure as hhe kissed me like he’d been dying to do it all night. My hands which had been ready to push him off, grabbed the front of his shirt instead and pulled him closer.Between kisses I tried to speak. “Wait... what are you...”He didn’t let me finish as another deep kiss swallowed my words. Our masks bumped together but the kind we wore left our lips free and thank the moon for that… I kissed him back hard. I couldn’t help it.. heat pooled low in my belly so fast and wild. He groaned against my mouth lowly and roughly and the sound went straight through me.His hands slid down my sides then up again, boldly and sure. When he cup
CHAPTER 1: The InvitationFreya's POV“What have you got there, Sister?!”I barely had time to blink before Cassandra's hand shot out and snatched the little pamphlet right from my fingers. My heart gave a stupid little jump, the way it always did when she caught me off guard. She flipped it open, her perfectly painted nails tapping the paper.. then she threw her head back and laughed in that loud, fake and mean laugh she saved just for me.“You can’t be thinking of attending, are you?” She waved the pamphlet like it was something dirty. “The Alpha’s masquerade party? For unmated wolves? Oh, Freya. Honey. No one would want you there. You’re an Omega. Remember?”I tried to grab it back but she held it high out of reach. Heat rushed up my neck.. I hated how small I felt standing there in my old jeans and faded sweater while she looked like she’d stepped out of a magazine.“Give it back, Cass,” I said, keeping my voice steady even though my stomach twisted. She ignored me and kept read
