OLIVIA’S POV

I should’ve trusted my instincts.

Even as the breeze whispered through the trees and the night wrapped around the garden in an illusion of calm, something in my chest tugged and twisted—an anxious heartbeat urging me to be alert. But I brushed it off, thinking maybe I was still spiralling from the chaos of the ballroom.

I had checked. I had looked.

There had been no one. No shadows. No footsteps.

Just silence.

Just the cold stillness of a night that was supposed to have been mine. Ours. A beginning, or at the very least, closure.

I took one last look at the moonlight dancing on the pool’s surface. That’s when it happened.

A sudden, sharp shove to my back.

So swift. So unexpected. So brutal.

My arms flailed as a startled cry escaped my lips. The cold water swallowed me whole before I could even scream properly. It was like falling into a void—a moment suspended between air and silence, then shock and suffocation.

The world became blur and bubbles and panic.

  • My Mate Chose The Bitch Who Hurt Our Baby    Chapter 140 HUSHED CONFESSIONS

OLIVER’S POVThe hallway was hushed, painted in soft gold from the antique sconces that lined the walls, the shadows deepening with every second I spent alone with him. The stillness was almost deafening after the chaotic noise of the auction and the banter between Dominic and Derek. I should have been angry. I should have been storming away. But I wasn’t.Instead, I stood there… letting the silence settle between us like dust on old memories. Dominic was quiet too, his eyes fixed on me as if trying to read the thoughts I was keeping buried.“You said you needed to talk,” I said softly, hugging myself.Dominic let out a breath and looked away for a moment, gathering his words. “I know I messed things up earlier with Derek, and I think I am always going to mess when it comes to you. And the auction… that wasn’t just about competing. It was about everything I’ve kept buried. Watching you walk in with someone else, even after everything that’s happened between us… it did something to me.

  • My Mate Chose The Bitch Who Hurt Our Baby    Chapter 139 THE TURNING TIDES

OLIVIA’S POVBy the end of the auction, my head was pounding. Too many emotions, too many stares, and far too many unsaid words. I was exhausted—not just physically, but emotionally too. I needed air. Space. Something real. But before I could even signal Derek that I was ready to leave, something unexpected happened.A pair of Lunas approached me, their elegant dresses swishing like waves with each step. I straightened instinctively, unsure of their intent. But instead of casting disapproving glances or delivering cold pleasantries like I was used to, they… smiled."Olivia," Luna Helena from the Stormwatch Pack said, her voice surprisingly gentle. "I just wanted to say… thank you."I blinked. "Thank you?""Yes," said the other, Luna Mireille from the Silverclaw Pack. "For what you did earlier tonight. For the grace you showed. You’ve always carried yourself with dignity, but tonight… you reminded us what strength truly looks like. We insulted you so many times, said so many bad things

  • My Mate Chose The Bitch Who Hurt Our Baby    Chapter 138 BETWEEN TWO FIRES

OLIVIA’S POVThe warmth of Dominic’s fingers still lingered on my skin as we stepped out of the guest room together, dressed and ready to return to the heart of the banquet. The silence between us wasn’t awkward—it was charged. There were words still unsaid, emotions still too raw. But for now, we walked side by side, and for the first time in what felt like forever, I didn't feel like I was walking into battle alone.Still, the moment we approached the grand ballroom again, reality set in. Eyes shifted toward us—curious, calculating, judging. The lights were too bright, the stares too many. But what struck me most was the way Derek's eyes met mine from across the room. He had been waiting. For me.I felt Dominic stiffen beside me. His hand brushed mine again, almost instinctively, like he didn’t want to let go. But I pulled away gently.“I came here with Derek,” I said softly. “It wouldn’t be right.”Dominic frowned. “You’re seriously worried about appearances now?”“I’m worried abou

  • My Mate Chose The Bitch Who Hurt Our Baby    Chapter 137 FROM THE SHADOWS

EVELYN’S POVThe shadows welcomed me like an old friend. Their silence was familiar—comforting, even. It felt poetic, in a cruel kind of way, that I’d returned to the very place where it had all begun. The shadows. The corners of the room. The hidden edges of conversations. That’s where I lived before anyone ever knew my name. That’s where I watched. Where I planned. Where I waited. And it was from those very shadows that I first saw her.Olivia.Long before Dominic knew what she would come to mean to him, I had already noticed the shift. I saw it in the way his eyes began to linger a little longer on her presence, in the way his smile faltered when she entered a room. I saw it in the slight stiffness in his shoulders when she was around—like his body recognized her even before his heart did.But more than that… I saw her.Not the sweet, quiet little wolf everyone believed her to be. No, there was something else beneath the surface—something wild, something hidden. My mother used to s

  • My Mate Chose The Bitch Who Hurt Our Baby    Chapter 136 A MOMENT BETWEEN HEARTBEATS

OLIVIA’S POVThe warmth of the towel barely settled over my skin before Dominic had already sent someone to bring me a change of clothes—his choice, no less.I should’ve protested. Should’ve insisted on picking something myself or wearing anything but what he picked. But something in his gaze as he passed the bundle to the servant silenced me. It wasn’t controlled. It wasn’t dominance. It was a worry. Regret. Something quiet and heavy in his eyes. So, I changed. The dress was simple, elegant. A deep sapphire blue that contrasted with the paleness of my skin after the chill of the water. It hugged my figure in a way that made me feel both beautiful and oddly exposed. It was the kind of dress someone picks for you when they’ve memorized every detail of you—when they know how to make you feel seen. And of course, except Dominic, no one knows my body more than him. When I stepped out into the room, I caught him struggling—half-shirtless, seated on the edge of a velvet chaise, his jaw clen
