Chapter 43

It's my first time seeing someone as gentle as Serena react so strongly. It's much more intense than the last time she and I argued.

I knew for sure something must have happened to make her like this. So I don't leave. If I go, Serena will forever be trapped in her pain. I want to help her get out of it.

"I can help you if you tell me what's happening with you," I said softly.

Serena glared at me. Her eyes filled with tears, they seemed to want to come out, but she tried to hold them back. She gulped, saying to me in a voice mixed with frustration and mockery, “What can you do for me? You are also just a human. Your status is not even that of an enslaved person like me. What right do you have to talk to me like that? Don't you see that it's not enough for me to suffer, so you're making fun of me? Get out! Get out of my room.”
