ELSA ELKINS' POV.

"Elsa, I was just..." She began to say.

Oh shut up mother!

I really wanted to tell her that, but she was cut off by some of her friends who had called her name.

I turned towards the direction the voice came from to see Aunty Adrienne, and two other women.

"Adrienne!" My mother exclaimed, her smile broadening. She quickly rushed towards them.

I sighed.

Was it really a timely intervention? I doubted, since it left me alone with Leonard who seemed to be enjoying my annoyance.

But then, it gave me an opportunity to confront it.

"Are you happy now? Have you gotten what you want?" My questions tumbled out of my lips, firm and raw.

I stared straight into his eyes, disgusted by his games.

But the smile on his face froze as soon as he heard me, and his brows furrowed slightly. He seemed confused, but I wouldn't be fooled.

"Don't try to play dumb, Leonard," I quickly stated. "Isn't this what you want? You want to be the saint in the sight of everyone!"
