ELSA'S POV,

My heart skipped a beat and my smile disappeared at the sight of Leonard standing right before me, I felt glued instantly, unable to say a word,

My initial exuberance had eluded me and a sense of shame and disappointment washed over me, I got scared as cold ran down my spine,

Right before me was the man I thought I had successfully escaped from, I couldn't believe I had been lured back into the lion's den after my careful calculations,

From the smirk on his face, I could tell he wasn't oblivious to my coming, right then I realized I had been tricked,

"What?" He questioned, his eyes gleaming with mischievousness as he stared at me, his smile had never left his face,

Even though he was smiling broadly, his ice-cold eyes made him look like the devil himself, he seemed to be enjoying himself,

Even though I was scared, I managed to hold back my composure, as I didn't want him to see through me.

"Aren't you happy to meet your husband-to-be?" He questioned, his voice dripping with mockery as he spoke,

But as I stared at him, a thought crossed my mind, the thought that he probably wasn't aware of my identity,

My first instinct was to pretend I had come to the wrong house and excuse myself. I slowly drew in a quick breath as I stilled myself to execute my thoughts,

Forcing a small smile on my face, I said,

"I'm sorry sir, it seems I'm in the wrong house." My voice was a little bit shaky as I spoke, betraying the fear that tugged at the corner of my heart,

Without waiting for his response, I turned to leave, but with just one step he closed up the distance between us, holding me back by the arm, which made my heart skip another beat.

As I turned to face him, I noticed his smile had disappeared and was replaced with a scary sight of him, anger mixed with hatred gleamed in his eyes, and his features, contorted in fury, the veins in his face stung,

His grip tightened on my wrist, holding me firmly as he stared into my eyes, even though I was hurting, I was too engrossed in the look I had seen on his face.

"Don't try to be smart with me little girl," He said, his tone low and dangerous, as he spoke, his ice-cold eyes glinted with hatred as they shot at me,

"I've once been fooled by you Elsa Elkins and there's no way it'd happen again." He growled with his teeth gritted, like a predator ready to attack his prey,

At that point, I knew there was nothing I could do than to face it.

Just then, I realized that everything was a deliberate effort from him to get me back into his life, making my heart begin to race as fear coursed through me, dampening every form of confidence I once had.

"Please let me go, I beg you." I pleaded, my voice breaking from the fear that was beginning to spread across my heart,

His response was a deep guttural chuckle, the sound of which spoke of the satisfaction in his heart,

Suddenly, his expression turned serious and his cold aura reappeared,

"Let you go?" He finally said staring deep into my eyes,

"Then how do you intend to repay your debts?" He questioned his eyes glinting with fury as they shot at me,

In a sudden surge of urgency, I replied, "I'll refund the money you sent me, but please let me go, I beg you," desperation coursing through me as I spoke,

"Then what about my damaged reputation? How do you intend to amend that? Huh?" He glared at me, sending waves of cold down my spine, yet I managed to hold back my composure, not willing to allow him to see how scared I was,

Even though deep within me, I was shivering under his aura,

I thought I could negotiate with him since he never delighted in women, but as I tried to wrap my head around what to say to him, I felt lost for what to say, so I allowed my heart do the talking instead, unsure of how I sounded,

"I'll apologize properly to everyone and tell..." But before I could complete my words, his response came cutting me off my words,

"Apology? He sneered at me, his words echoing in the foyer, bearing the weight of his anger,

"Do you think an apology would repair the damage you've caused?" He thundered like an angry god of war, while I stared at him, in an energy matching his,

"Whether you like it or not Elsa, you're my wife and I've bought you with your father's debt," he continued, tightening his grip on my wrist again as he drew me closer to him,

"But don't let that fool you, you're no different from my slave because I'm so going to make you pay for what you've done to me." He spat, his words dripping with hatred with no regard for my feelings at all.

Upon hearing his words, I felt my anger begin to boil at how little he had regarded me.

Even though deep within me I was scared, I wasn't going to be anybody's slave, so I said in energy matching his,

"Never Leonard, I'll never be yours, either as a wife or a slave," my eyes glinting with fury as I spoke,

His response was another round of dry laughter, the sound of which spoke of the contempt in his heart, he leaned closer, his voice low and dangerous as he spoke,

"You're my property, and that's what you'll remain forever," his dark eyes looking deep into my soul,

"I'll make sure you pay for the damage you've caused and the humiliation I felt on that day." His cold and menacing words sent chills down my spine as he spoke with his teeth gritted, which conveyed the hatred in his heart.

I summoned all the courage I could find deep within me and straightened my spine as I opened my mouth in response,

"I will repay what I and my father owe and then I can be free from your monstrous grip." Despite my heart heaving hard against my chest, frightened by his look.

His features curved into a conceited smile, "Have a nice try then," he said, as satisfaction twinkled in his eyes.

MR RICARDO'S POV,"Boss," Bobby's voice broke into the thoughts that had kept me busy.Mr. Yuka had demanded my presence at that ungodly hour, but I couldn't defy him. I knew he wanted to wrap everything as soon as possible."What is it?" I asked as calmly as I could, but before he could respond, his official phone rang.He swiftly excused himself and answered the phone. He turned towards me as soon as he got off the phone, his eyes sparkling with excitement."They've found her location, sir." He announced. My eyes bulged as his words slammed into me, and I felt strength filling my marrow."Book a flight to Campeche immediately," I ordered, my voice heavy with determination."Okay, sir." ELSA ELKINS' POV,After staring at the calm, peaceful sea ahead of me, I checked the time and realized it was past Ten PM already.I sighed."Where should I go?" I muttered.I couldn't go back to my father's house, my mother wouldn't have it, not after Leonard had presented himself like the perfect husband during Daniella's wedding.I didn't need anyone to tell me they would tie me up and drag me back to Leonard. Daniella had relocated with her husband to Campeche. There was nowhere for me to go.The night chill enveloped me and I hugged myself. "I should have come out with a sweatshirt at least." I muttered beneath my breath. My phone began to ring again for the seventh time - Leonard clearly displayed as the caller. How dare he still try to reach me?I didn't come out with my card, I couldn't possibly lodge in a hotel. As I thought about where to pass the night Richard came to my mind. After about thirty seconds of struggling whether to call him or not, I said to myself. "He's a g

LEONARD KISH'S POVMy smile broadened as I sniffed the fresh scent of the rose bouquet I had gotten her.I hastened up the staircase, too excited to get to her, and as soon as I opened the door, I found Elsa standing in the middle of the room.My smile stretched further. "Waiting for me?" I asked, giggling as I walked towards her with open arms. But before I got to where she stood, her right hand shot towards me. "Don't come any closer!" She snapped.I halted in my tracks, my brows furrowing, and just then, I noticed her clenched jaw."Elsa" I called, still smiling at her. "What is going on?"But the words had barely left my lips when she fired: "How long have you been deceiving me?" The smile on my face froze. I tried to figure out what she meant but I couldn't put my finger on it."Elsa, why would I deceive you?" I finally asked, giggling, hoping to lighten up the atmosphere.I walked closer to her, hoping it wasn't as serious as it seemed. But as soon as I got close enough, she p

  • My Monstrous Husband.   Chapter 152 - Evidence.

ELSA ELKINS' POV "Meet me at the garage," My phone buzzed with a text message from an unidentified sender as I readied to go home that evening. My brows furrowed, and I wondered who it was. I thought it was Leonard since I had ignored his texts, but then, I knew Leonard wouldn't stoop so low just to get my attention. I thought about ignoring it, but later succumbed to it after I realized it could be important. "Who's this?" I replied to the text, and almost immediately my phone buzzed with a response from the anonymous sender. "You'd see for yourself." I scoffed. I was in no mood for that, but something about the text kept reaching out for me and I couldn't help satisfying my curiosity. I strolled to the garage and found a lady, back turned to the entrance, wearing a face cap, but she felt familiar. "You sent me a text?" I asked wondering who she was. My brows furrowed as I recognized who she was. Jessica turned towards me and her lips curled into a condescending smirk. "I'

LEONARD KISH'S POV I couldn't stop the chuckle that broke out of my lips as I thought about my conversation with Elsa earlier that day.As I dwelled on it, I decided to buy her a gift on my way home.I was still deciding the perfect gift to surprise her with when the door slowly opened and Sam walked in. "Boss," Sam calmly called. It was the furrow deeply etched in his face that snapped me off my revelry."What is it Sam?" I asked, my brows furrowing. I was wondering what he was so concerned about."Richard just finished the meeting with the shareholders." Sam answered calmly, blankly so. Well, it was something we were already aware of, I couldn't help but wonder why he was so concerned like they had cast their votes already."All top shareholders were present, except Mr. Gerald and Mr. Owen." He continued, as though he could see I wasn't as bothered as he was. "They seemed to have reached an agreement."I nodded my head. I had expected that to happen. I knew Richard wouldn't mee

RICHARD YUKA'S POVMr. Godfrey halted in his track as soon as he heard me, then he turned to face me."What do you mean by that?" He demanded, his words heavy with a shimmering anger as he shot fiery darts at me.I chuckled loudly as soon as I heard him. I knew he was only trying to remain upright in the presence of everyone.I stood up. "Come on, Mr. Godfrey," I said, shrugging."You wouldn't want me to start talking about your commitment and dedication to the growth of the company, which you've never failed to adhere to, would you?" I asked sarcastically.Mr. Godfrey's brows furrowed upon hearing my words, from the look on his face I could see the fear building in his eyes even though he was trying his best to keep his calm demeanor. But I wouldn't let him off my hook. I had found the perfect scapegoat; he gave himself freely, so I decided to make best use of him."We both know you're not as righteous as you claimed to be, so why pretend to be one now, when we can all have what we
