Alpha Gray cut in with a chuckle, "Troublesome, you mean. She's a whole lot to handle, a hot plate."

A hint of a frown appeared on Alpha Kade's face. "Even though I look forward to the alliance between our packs, I don't want anyone to hurt my daughter. As much as she's desperate to become your Luna, I suggest you give it time. See if Raven is right for you. I wouldn't want us turning into enemies if, down the line, you lose interest."

I listened intently, the weight of their conversation sinking in. It was a perspective I hadn't considered, the idea that Raven's eagerness to solidify the alliance might be driven by more than just the unity of the packs.
