(Almira’s POV)

[5 Years Later]

The sound of my pen scratching against the paper fills the four corners of my office. I could hear from where I’m sitting the faint hum of the city slipping through the floor-to-ceiling windows.

I have been working nonstop for seven hours straight now.

I plan to finish everything today because I have dinner plans later tonight.

I’m excited to see them again.

I barely look up as I grab another paper to sign another document. My wrist is already aching from the endless approvals, and it’s honestly starting to feel numb.

Just then, I heard the door open to my office.

"Director Almira," a voice interrupted

I glanced up to see my secretary, Niki, standing by the door. She's holding her tablet with a professional expression.

"The Chairman is already waiting for you in his office," she informed me.

I arched my brows.

I did promise him that I’ll finish everything before five o’clock in the afternoon. He’s sure a sharp old man.

I nodded briefly as I set my pen do

(Almira’s POV)At the diner, my twins and I eat chaotically with their Uncle Rich. I wanted to cut half with the bill, but he refused, saying that it's the first time in a long time that he’s buying us food, and that I should let him.We allowed the kids to choose which place to eat, and they chose this 60’s inspired American Diner, a few drives away from the company. The diner is alive with the sound of music playing in the jukebox, and the warm scent of grilled burgers and fries filling the air. The neon lights flickering outside makes the atmosphere more retro and nostalgic. I like this place. It reminds me of home.Hazel and Asher are sitting across from me beside their Uncle Rich. Their little hands are busy stuffing fries into their mouths. I smiled, while looking at the ketchup stains in the corners of Asher’s lips. And how Hazel’s eyes sparkled as she hummed happily between bites is just too cute to ignore.I watched them, smiling.Rich took a slow sip of his coffee as he watc

  • My One-Night-Stand Alpha   Chapter 19 Saw A Ghost?

(Almira’s POV)[Three Days Later]After five years, I’m finally back in America. Leaving my kids and family behind wasn't easy, but I promised them that I will not stay here for a long time.Just like the plan, I’m going to represent our pack in the assembly. That's it.Despite my personal plans to form alliances here, I thought I should do that once I get a better grip of the situation here in America.A lot can change in five years. But that remains the same here is the power of the people who almost killed me. Everywhere I look, I see only one thing. I see the logos of their company plastered everywhere like decorations on the walls. It reminds me how powerful they are, and why I had to leave. But they don’t scare me anymore. In fact, the first thing I did as soon as I left the airport was to head straight to the venue of the werewolf assembly. And like what I was expecting, it is hosted by the Hitwell family.“Thanks,” I said to the thoughtful chauffeur who carried my suitcase for

(Lysander’s POV)The meeting is now over, but the room is still buzzing with Alphas and Betas gathering in small groups, discussing the alliances and strategies that we discussed in the meeting. And of course, they’re talking about her, too.I should be leaving. I should be heading straight to my pack’s estate, focusing on more important matters. But my feet stay planted in the venue. My eyes unwillingly stay locked on her.Almira.It’s been five years since I last saw her. She’s stealing the spotlight from the crowd effortlessly, speaking with leaders who are twice her size and three times her age like she belongs here.Because, apparently, she does. She’s different now. Confident. Powerful. Completely unshaken by the attention she’s drawing. And damn, she’s beautiful. Her silver, blonde hair is tied in a messy bun, exposing her slender neck. She’s wearing a sleeveless black dress that hugs her curves like a glove. Her black stilettos make her legs look longer, sexier. Almira’s excre

(Almira’s POV)This isn’t happening. This shouldn’t be happening. But it is.Lysander’s lips are on mine. For a second, I feel my world has stopped. The past and the present are mixing. I can't feel anything other than his lips that are kissing mine. My body is currently betraying me in the worst way possible. I want to push him, but my body is doing otherwise. My fingers curled into the fabric of his jacket, gripping it tightly as butterflies rumbled in my stomach. His deep, woodsy scent is intoxicating me. It’s wrapping around me like a warm embrace, making it too easy to forget everything that came before this moment. It’s like all the hatred I kept all these years vanished in just a few seconds that our lips are touching. No…I can’t let this happen.I won’t.*RING!* *RING!* *RING!*Just then, a loud ring cut through the moment, snapping me back to my senses like a bucket of ice cold water was thrown over me. My eyes flew open, and for the first time, I truly saw him.Lysander.Th

(Almira’s POV)My flight back to Italy is tomorrow. I can’t wait to be home. I missed my kids and everything I have back in Italy.I booked myself a luxury hotel last night to ensure my comfortability tonight. I was supposed to drop by here first, but I wasn't really expecting that being here again would feel so new to me. That's why I came a little late that I entered earlier. It’s a tiring day for me, especially because of the flight that I had to take quickly just to reach here on time.Nevertheless, I’m happy about how the meeting turned out. I’m sure that my Father would be proud to know that I was able to gain the respect of everybody in the meeting. But the latter part of my day ruined it.Just thinking about it makes me want to disown myself. It’s embarrassing to the core. As a matter of fact, I’m disgusted with myself.I checked in quickly and made my way to my suite. I can’t wait to settle in for the night. I’m tired and sleepy.Once inside, I dropped my bag by the door and

(Lysander’s POV)"Were you able to deliver the steak to Almira?" I asked the hotel staff as soon as he entered the room just beside Almira’s suite. He nodded reluctantly."Yes, sir. The steak was given to her room.,” he replied.I smirked.Almira must be asleep by now.Without another word, I slide a check across the desk. "Here's 100,000 dollars. Thank you for your service," I said. The staff man’s eyes widened in shock. He asked for 2,000 dollars, but the smallest amount I could give without hurting my ego is a hundred. "Thank you, sir," he said as he picked up the check.I watched him disappear before turning toward the spare keycard hanging on a hook. "Time to check on her," I whispered to myself.I pressed the keycard against the door. It clicked open instantly. The room was dim and silent when I entered. I found Almira passed out in the bed, her hair splayed out across the pillow like a halo.I kneeled beside her and gently tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear. "Almira,"

(Almira’s POV)I tried my best to maintain a straight face. I really want to show him that I don’t give a fuck, but my eyes are betraying me.The truth is… I am scared.I'm scared that history will repeat itself. I’m scared that he would take my kids away once he finds out that they're his children. After all these years, I thought I was ready to face him again. But seeing him now, sitting across from me with his eyes burning in a mixture of disbelief and fury, I just can’t. I feel like I’ve lost the ability to speak. I was just staring at him, wishing that this conversation would end soon.I wasn’t ready to speak to him yet.Not when it’s about my kids.No matter how much I try to deny myself. I know that I’m seeing something in his eyes. I see hope.I had just claimed that Rich is the father of my twins. Of course, he doesn't believe me. But I saw how much my words hurt him. It was almost like he wanted to hurt me because of what I said. But thinking about how I used Rich for my own

(Almira’s POV)Back in my hotel room, I threw my purse on the couch anxiously. He didn't want me to leave, but I just stormed out of there like the bad ass bitch I am. Who does he think he is to stop me anyways?I still can’t believe Lysander cared so much for my twins. He said he searched for me. He thinks he can easily take me back with his sugar coated words? Even a kid wouldn’t believe that. How could he have searched for me all these five years when he didn’t do anything about what his father did?I wonder if it’s just another lie meant to win my trust again.I know he’ll do anything to take my kids.I mentally forced myself to focus on what’s more important. I am not here to hope for a reconciliation with him. I came here for pack matters. Nothing else.I no longer want to associate myself with the Hitwell clan.Besides, Lysander is married already to that pretentious bitch. I have moved on already. I have built my own life as a pack leader. And I am very happy with my life, esp

  • My One-Night-Stand Alpha   Chapter 94 Witchbane

(Almira’s POV)The battlefield stank of death.Flesh, smoke, burned fur, and bitter magic hung in the air, choking us with every breath. Screams pierced the thick fog, flashes of light erupted from witchfire bolts—red and violet streaks cutting through the forest like falling stars.I barely saw it—just a blur of blue and gold, then a body soaring through the air.“LYSANDER!”I ran. Fast. Too fast.My feet barely touched the ground as I pushed through tangled roots and flaming debris. Trees snapped like twigs under rogue bodies, and more witches dropped from the skies, their wings stitched with corrupted sigils. This wasn’t a battle anymore. It was an execution. A massacre. And at the heart of it all… lay him.His body sprawled against a tree, blood soaking through his chest—so much of it, too red, too fast. Witchbane.I crashed beside him, knees buckling, the world spinning around me.“No,” I gasped, shaking him. “Lysander, no, no, no…”His breathing was shallow, barely a whisper. Bl

  • My One-Night-Stand Alpha   Chapter 93 Get Behind Me

(Almira’s POV)The night had been quiet. Too quiet.Lysander had just brushed my knuckles with his, his voice low and warm, when I heard the shift in the air. It was subtle at first. A sudden chill. The woods around the private hot spring went still—no breeze, no crickets, no life. Then came the snap.A surge of magic ripped through the trees and cracked into the earth like a bolt from a storm. The water behind us erupted into steam, scalding and thick, just as Lysander grabbed my waist and pulled me down.*Boom!*The ground where we’d been seconds ago exploded. Fire licked at the edges of the moss-covered rocks.“What the hell?” I hiss, rolling up to my knees. My eyes dart to the shadows moving fast between the trees—hooded figures, hands glowing with blood-red light.Witches.Lysander’s face hardens as he shields me with one arm. “They’ve found us.”Another blast tears through the air, and Lysander growls, the sound guttural and furious. He shifts halfway, claws erupting from his ha

  • My One-Night-Stand Alpha   Chapter 92 Dinner

(ALMIRA’S POV)I knew something was off the moment I walked into the garden. There were candles. Candles and flower petals and a blanket set out beneath the peach tree. The same tree where Asher and Hazel used to build their stick forts. Now it looked like a page outNow it looked like a page out of some fairytale I’d never believed in. A small table stood nearby with food—warm, freshly cooked food—and two glasses of sparkling elderflower wine. And there, sitting under the tree with sleeves rolled up and a nervous smile on his lips, was Lysander.“What… is all this?” I asked, raising a brow as I stopped at the edge of the scene.Lysander stood, brushing off his pants, suddenly looking like the awkward boy next door and not the powerful Alpha of one of the most formidable packs in the region. “It was their idea,” he admitted, nodding toward the house. “The kids said you’ve been too serious lately. They thought… maybe you deserved a break.”I blinked, stunned. “You let them set this up?

  • My One-Night-Stand Alpha   Chapter 91 Another Chance?

(Almira's POV)It’s raining again. Not the kind of storm that rips trees apart or makes the sky look like it’s bleeding—just a soft, persistent drizzle. It slicks the earth, darkens the windowpanes, and blankets the world in a hush. Everything feels quieter in the rain.I sit curled up in the large armchair by the hearth, an old, knitted shawl draped over my shoulders. My fingers absently trace the rim of the mug in my hands—lukewarm tea now, the scent of ginger and lemongrass still clinging to the steam.Hazel is humming under her breath as she braids wildflowers into her doll’s coarse black hair. She talks to it as she works, whispering stories about ancient queens and brave daughters. The stories sound suspiciously familiar—versions of mine that I thought she was too young to remember.Asher is attempting to levitate an apple again. His brow is furrowed in concentration, little fingers twitching in midair.I feel the power swirl around the fruit—a low thrumming that vibrates just b

  • My One-Night-Stand Alpha   Chapter 90 The Revelation

(Almira’s POV)The night smelled of blood. Not wolf blood. Not human either.Magic.Ancient. Rotted. Old as the bones buried beneath this cursed land.I crouched low against the balcony stone, my hand wrapped tightly around the dagger hilt strapped to my thigh. The wind tore at my cloak as voices rose below — one I knew like the rhythm of my own breath.Lysander.And the other?Sweet. Sultry. Pretending to purr even now, even with the scent of death hanging in the air.Rachelle.I should’ve known. I *did* know. Every inch of my body had screamed it from the moment she looked at Hazel and Asher like they were keys instead of children. But I needed proof. Not just instinct. Not just rage. And tonight, I had it.I watched them through the cracked marble archway. Lysander stood stiffly, shoulders taut, his silver blade slick with fresh blood — not his own. The scent was still risi

  • My One-Night-Stand Alpha   Chapter 89 She Knows

(Hazel's POV)The honey cakes taste too sweet. Like they’re trying to cover something up.I chew slow, just like Mama told me—never trust sweetness too fast. Especially from someone who talks too soft and smiles too much. I keep my eyes half-closed, the way wolves do when they’re watching something dangerous.Rachelle’s voice is like syrup, sticky and fake. “I want to help you, Hazel. You and your brother. I want to teach you how not to be controlled.”I blink at her. That word. *Controlled*. I don’t like it. It sounds like cages and chains and being told what to do with the thing that burns under my skin. I don’t know what I am yet—but I know I’m not a tool. And neither is Asher. She leans closer, like she thinks we’re sharing secrets now. “People are always scared of what they can’t control. Even your mother.”I sit up straighter. “My mom&rsquo

  • My One-Night-Stand Alpha   Chapter 88 They Know

(Rachelle’s POV)Later that eveningThe night is soft and heavy with the scent of pine and late-blooming jasmine. The wind hums outside my window, stirring the curtains like a lullaby. It should be calming. But I’m wired.Because they didn’t push me away today.Hazel didn’t glare as hard. Asher actually asked me a question. It was small, meaningless to someone who doesn’t know what to listen for—but to me? It was everything.“Can you do magic too?”A casual question from a curious boy, sure. But it meant he was wondering. Wondering if he could learn something from me. Wondering if I had answers that no one else had given him. And most of all—if I was different from the grown-ups who only saw his power as something to control. That’s how it starts. It always starts with wonder.Hazel, though… Hazel is different. She’s the hard one. Not

  • My One-Night-Stand Alpha   Chapter 87 Innocence

(Hazel’s POV)That night, I didn’t sleep. The cake Rachelle brought was still sitting on my windowsill, getting all stale and sticky. I didn’t even take a bite. I just looked at it, trying to decide if it smelled weird. It didn’t. But it still made my stomach feel funny. Not the cake.Her.I curled under my blanket and hugged Bramble, my stuffed bear. I told Mom I was too big for him now, but I wasn’t ready to let him go. Bramble didn’t judge me when I was scared, or when I had to think real hard like tonight. He just stayed.“She’s not like the others,” I whispered to him.He didn’t answer, but I pretended he was listening.Rachelle’s eyes were too shiny when she smiled. Not in a nice way, like Mom’s when we do something good. No, it was the kind of shiny that hides sharp things. Like when a fox pretends to be a friend.I touched the charm she gave

  • My One-Night-Stand Alpha   Chapter 86 Hunt

(Rachelle's POV)Hazel is quiet the rest of the visit, but she doesn’t push me away. She watches. Listens. And when I say I should get going, she stands and walks me to the door."Will you come back tomorrow?" she asks, her voice feather-light, almost fragile.I blink, surprised. “If you’d like me to.”She nods slowly. “I think I would.”And just like that, I win a sliver of trust. Or so I think.Or so I believe. The next day, I return with more treats—berry tarts this time, and a little charm I enchanted myself, something subtle. A protection token. Fake, of course, but believable enough for a child.Hazel accepts it without a word. But when I sit across from her, I notice something... off. She’s smiling. It’s small. Barely there. But it’s a real smile. And it’s not for me—it’s for herself.“Do you like ridd
