Ashina’s POV

“Dinner can wait, or didn’t you listen to the words he just said?” Nathan snapped, I wondered what got him this pissed.

Was it about me? Or the fact that he lost a soldier? Is there something he’s not telling me?

I asked myself as I watched him leave the room, I knew he wouldn’t spend the night at the house, he’d be all about finding who killed one of his soldiers.

I’ll take a walk down the woods and be back before they’re back. I can’t stay in this huge building all by myself. It’s going to be long and so boring, how would they even find who killed the soldier? He’s dead and he’s not coming back so it’s better to let the dead rest and focus more on protecting the living.

When I got to the woods, I strolled around. I couldn’t help but stop to look at the beautiful blue bird that had its shiny wings flapping around the tree branch, I wondered what it was saying.
