"Why do I have a feeling that you're not referring to the Council and their minions?" Jace questioned with a deep frown.
"Because I'm not," Lauren replied. "I'm talking about your client over there. Have you changed your mind about helping me?"
Jace grunted. "I do not see how you are giving me a choice in the matter. I either help you on this suicidal mission, or I go against you and have to fight you to defend my client. I am obviously not a fighter, so the second choice does not appeal to me."
