Sleep did not come easy to Trisha. When she finally settled down and rested, Logan was gently shaking her. "Showtime," he whispered. 

Trisha rubbed the sleep that still clung to her eyelashes away. "It's still dark," she mumbled.

"Sorry, I know. But those demons? They're getting closer to us."

Trisha bit her lip. "I didn't get to talk to Kanda." she stared at her fingers as she fiddled with a thread on the bed. "I thought, I'd get to say goodbye at least in my dreams."

Logan's warm hand rubbed her back and he kissed the back of her neck again. "You'll see them again, I promise." He'd dropped his voice to a whisper so low that it didn't even wake up the sleeping Lauren.

"How is she still asleep?" Trisha demanded with a pout.
