I couldn't focus. The papers were spread across my desk, numbers and reports blurring together into meaningless shapes. I'd been staring at the same page for an hour and I hadn't absorbed a single word. I leaned back in my chair rubbing my eyes with the heels of my palms. The clock on the wall read 2:07 AM. I'd been in my study for hours, trying to get work done or rather distract myself. It wasn't working. Nothing was working. I hadn't been able to finish half of what I needed to do not since that night. Not since I'd seen her walk into that club, all wide eyes and trembling lips, looking like she was drowning and desperate for someone to pull her under. I'd had one-night stands before. Plenty of them but none of them were like her, none of them made me feel like I was losing my mind and haunted me the way she did. Sophia. Just thinking her name sent a jolt through me. I could still feel her skin beneath my hands. Still taste her on my lips. Still hear those soft little sounds she made when I touched her. I'd told her it was a mistake. I'd told her it meant nothing. I'd told her we were going to bury it and never speak of it again. I'd lied. Every single word was a lie because it wasn't nothing It was everything. It was the most alive I'd felt in years and I hated myself for it. She was eighteen, she was my wife's daughter and was my student. I had no right to want her but God, I did. I wanted her so badly it was consuming me. Every time I saw her, every time I smelled that faint vanilla scent she wore, every time I heard her voice I lost a little more of my control. That outbreak she had in my office, I almost lost it. I wanted to pull her into my arms and fuck her until she forgot her own name and tell her the truth that I hadn't stopped thinking about her either. That I'd never wanted anyone the way I wanted her. But I didn't. Because I couldn’t, I had too much to lose and she deserved better than a man who would destroy her life just to satisfy his own selfish desires. I hissed in frustration as I stood up from my desk and walked to the door. Maybe a glass of whiskey would help and numb the ache in my chest enough to let me sleep. I stepped into the hallway the house was silent, the darkness thick and heavy. I passed by Sophia's room. And then I heard it. A sound that was soft and muffled. I stopped. It came again. A quiet moan, breathless and Needy. My blood ran hot. It was coming from her room. I shouldn't have stopped I shouldn't have listened. I should have walked away and gone back to my study and pretended I hadn't heard anything but I couldn't move. My hand reached for the door handle before I could stop myself It swung open silently. And then I saw her. She was lying on the bed, her head thrown back, her hair spread across the pillow like a dark halo. The sheets were tangled around her legs, and her hand was between them, moving in slow, desperate circles. She was touching herself. And she was beautiful. Her lips were parted as her chest rising and falling with each ragged breath. Soft little sounds escaped her throat, sounds that made my cock throb painfully against my zipper. She hadn't noticed me. She was lost in her own world chasing something I knew she wasn't going to find. Not alone. I watched her frozen in the doorway, my heart pounding so loud trying to fight back my dirty desires. She’s my stepdaughter. She’s a forbidden fruit that I should never taste ever again. She arched her back, a low moan escaping her lips. Her fingers moving fast, desperate and frantic. "Thorne..." My name. She said my fucking name. I gripped the doorframe so hard my knuckles went white. She was thinking about me while touching herself. I should have left. I should have closed the door and walked away but I didn't. I couldn't. And when her eyes fluttered open and locked onto mine, I knew there was no going back.Sophia's POVThree days. It’s been three days since that humiliating night, since he'd walked into my room, watched me touch myself, called me a whore, and left me unfinished on the bed.Three days of avoiding him like my life depended on it.I'd become a ghost in the house. I woke up early before anyone else was awake, and crept down the stairs like a thief. I made sure to leave for campus before Thorne even came down for breakfast. I came home early and refuse to come down for dinner making sure to lock my room so mum won’t be a bother.I didn't look at him, speak to him or even breathe in his direction. If we happened to be in the same room, I kept my eyes fixed on the floor, on the wall, on anything that wasn't his face. The one time I'd accidentally made eye contact with him at the dinner table my stomach had lurched so violently I'd had to excuse myself.Diana had noticed. She'd asked if I was sick, if something was wrong. I'd told her I was just stressed about school. She bou
Sophia's POVMy heart dropped into my stomach.I froze. My hand stilled between my thighs and breath caught in my throat. He was standing in the doorway, his tall frame silhouetted against the dim light of the hallway. His eyes were dark, unreadable, fixed on me with an intensity that made my skin prickle.I opened my mouth to speak but no words came out.He stepped into the room and closed the door behind him the soft click of the latch echoed in the silence."Did I ask you to fucking stop?"I stared at him my brain struggling to process what was happening. "I—you—""Continue.""Thorne I can't—""You can." He walked toward the bed each step slow and deliberate. "and you will now continue Continue….Keep touching yourself. Let me watch.” he ordered, his voice still cold, but now edged with something that made my stomach flip a mix of authority and a dark, almost predatory interest. My face burned as my body was trembling, caught somewhere between embarrassment and arousal. I should h

Sophia's POVI sat down in the chair across from him with my bag clutched in my lap like a shield the leather was cold beneath my thighs. He didn't say anything at first he continued working like I was invisible before he finally set the pen down letting out a breath and leaning back in his chair watching me with those dark, unreadable eyes making the silence stretched between us thick and suffocating.I stared at a spot on the wall behind him anywhere but his face."So," he said finally. "Are you going to tell me what's going on with you?""Nothing.""Nothing." He repeated the word like he didn't believe it. "You couldn't answer a simple question in class. You were staring off into space like you were a million miles away and you expect me to believe it's nothing?""Yes."He leaned forward his elbows resting on the desk. "I'm not in the mood for games.""Neither am I." I finally looked at him. "I'm fine It was just a long night and I didn't sleep well.""Is that all?""What else
Sophia's POVI found a bench near the fountain and sat down, trying to collect myself. The afternoon air was cool against my skin. Students walked past in groups laughing and talking, their lives so normal and carefree. I watched them with a hollow feeling in my chest."Sophia! Hey!"I looked up Ryan was jogging toward me with a grin on his face next to him was a girl with dark curly hair and bright green eyes wearing a colorful sweater that matched her energy."Hey," I say forcing a smile.Ryan stopped in front of me. "I was hoping I'd run into you this is Ashley she’s in your Business Strategy class too."Ashley waved. "Hey! I saw you in Professor Sinclair's class the other day. You were sitting in the middle row right?""Yeah that was me.""I remember because you looked like you wanted to be anywhere else." She laughed. "Trust me I felt the same way. That class is brutal.""It's that bad?""I told you Sinclair is intense," Ryan said.Ashley nodded. "He's known for being super str
Sophia's POVI barely slept.Every time I closed my eyes, I saw his face those dark eyes boring into me his hand on my wrist. And my body betrayed me every single time.I hated it.I hated how my skin tingled at the memory of his touch. I hated that even now knowing who he was, knowing he was my mother's husband and my professor—some sick, twisted part of me still wanted him.It was wrong so fucking wrong. He was my stepfather. He was my professor.I shouldn't want him I couldn't want him but my body didn't care about should or shouldn't. I tossed and turned all night, the sheets tangled around my legs, my mind racing in circles. By the time the sun came up, I felt like I'd been hit by a truck.I dragged myself out of bed and into the bathroom. The mirror showed me exactly how I felt dark circles under my eyes, pale skin, hair a mess.I splashed cold water on my face and got dressed into a simple Jeans and sweater pairing it with a comfortable shoe.I grabbed my bag and headed down
