Aria. The sun cut through Ravencrest courtyard as we made our way into the old stone archway. Lila and I were heading to class after the long talk from Mrs Holt to behave ourselves today. Lila peeled the wrapper off her granola bar as we walked into the busy hallway filled with students who spared us funny glances. But I ignored it as usual while Lila fidgeted a little from the attention. “So..” Lila said, her voice shaking. “You haven’t told me what happened yesterday during lunch with Kai.” “Ugh..” I grumbled as I took the granola bar from her and cut a life before throwing it in my mouth as a student bumped into me and I coughed. “He just introduced me to his stupid raven friends.” I said, as I chewed the granola before I pressed my fingers against my shoulder to keep the bandages in place. I had tied it loosely in a rush because I had woken up late. I barely had enough sleep last night. “So what were they like?” “I don’t know. Weird but surprisingly a bit normal. There’s on

Aria. The sun dipped low over Ravencrest regaining field, the golden glow casted long shadows against the wide field. I looked around and the size of the football field was about half of my pack. Ravencrest was huge and they still needed more. Tall bleachers sat on both sides of the field and the chairs were painted in a way that from far off it looked like a big Raven insignia. It was amazing. Looking around, I found the team on the field, the sounds of grunts and thuds filled the air and I stepped into the grass and started to make my way to the top of the bleachers when the sound of loud whistling stopped me in my tracks. “You lost, kid?” I heard a loud voice shout as I turned to see who looked like a coach. “Coach Morgan Everett. I see you’re one of the Silverwood wolves.” He said and I nodded, as the rest of the team stopped to watch. The man was built like a tank with wide shoulders and black hair slicked back from his face and jaw hard with a stubble. “I’m Aria Langston.”
Aria. The final bell rang, echoing down the halls and the boring classroom and I breathed a sigh of relief. School was over and I was exhausted but my day had only just started. I gave Maya and Lila a quick goodbye outside the main entrance as I tried to ignore the stares I was getting from the Ravens due to the commotion during lunch break earlier in the day. I ignored them and made my way towards the path that led to the sport complex, where the football team trained. Outside the tall windows that shed sunlight into the hallway, I could see some of the team already on the field as they did warm ups but there was no sight of familiar faces on the court. I reached the locker room building, my heart pounding in my chest as I observed the wall lined with pictures of the team at various games, most of them, they had won as they held big trophies and big smiles. It wasn’t hard to notice Kai in them, he looked like a different person, smiling through the camera, eyes filled with so mu
Aria. The silence in the cafeteria was deafening and I could hear my heart thumping loudly in my chest as I made my way to Kai’s table. My legs were shaking and I felt that any moment now, I would fall as they would be unable to hold me anymore.Eyes followed me, some wide in disbelief while the others only watched out of curiosity or pity. Whispers followed immediately as some took out their phones to record my downfall.I didn’t dare meet anyone gaze as I fixed my eyes on Kai who lounged at the center of the table, surrounded by his football players and high ranking wolves, each face looked intimidating but it was only Kai’s face I feared. They sat in pristine uniforms, navy blue with blazers open and ties hung loosely around their necks.I felt like a prey walking into a wolf's den.Kai’s smile when I finally reached the table and he causally patted the empty seat beside him like I was his friend. But I knew my place.Carefully, I placed my tray on the table and sat down beside hi
Aria. By the time my third class ended, my shoulder ached from the weight of my bag and the pressure of holding myself together. My stomach growled as I hadn’t eaten anything yet all day. Just one more class before lunch. I looked down at my timetable. Pack History. That was a class I couldn’t afford to miss, that way I could learn more about Ravencrest and their history. I tucked the paper in my bag and took a turn when I saw them. Mia and Tasha. They were both dressed in cheer team uniforms, it was a sleeveless white top with dark blue stripes and in front of it was the Ravencrest logo of a wolf shield with a moon above it. The skirt was dark blue and it was so short I could see their black shorts underneath it. Dark blue arm sleeves with what looked like claw mark designs wrapped around their arm and white sneakers that stride towards me sharply. My heart sank as I slowed and contemplated turning back, but it was too late as Mia’s eyes landed on me and her painted lips curled
