It was already dark when he left the office. Today was an extremely exhausting day… mostly emotional and mentally exhausting.

He spent the day mostly doing nothing except trying to solve a mystery with no facts.

He walked absentmindedly to his car, got in and shut the door close.

He leaned back in the car seat and relaxed, taking in a deep breath before reaching out to ignite the engine.

That was when he felt a presence in the car. The hand that was about to reach for the key froze. He slowly retracted his hand and sat upright.

The person behind him stayed silent, but the perfume was familiar.

He slowly raised his head to spy through the rear view mirror.

His eyes locked with hers.

"Drive!" She ordered coldly.

She had changed from her slaying office classic suit to a head to too black out fit___ leather pants, a black turtleneck sweater and she crowned it all with an expensive biking black blazer.

"Just when I thought the day was peaceful." Brant grumbled audibly.

"What do you want this time, Mila… or should I say Fabiola?" He asked without turning to face her, but he could clearly see her face through the rear view mirror.

She did not smile or budge, she remained relaxed in the back seat of his car, with her arms crossed over her chest, keeping her expression stoic.

He looked at her reflection again, trying to interpret her silence, but when he couldn't make anything out of it, he swallowed a huge lump of saliva and ignited the engine. She did not have to repeat herself, the chill in the car spoke louder than her words.

"Ok, so where am I driving to?" He asked cautiously as he slowly drove the car out of the underground garage.

She stayed silent.

He just drove quietly in the opposite direction to his house. He had no idea what he was doing, or why he was even obeying her in the first place, but he did anyway.

After driving continuously for almost thirty minutes with no specific destination, he decided to abruptly pull up by the side of the road, just before he took the dirt path.

He leaned back in his seat. "You know, you have got to start talking." He said, " I just can not continue driving aimlessly." He tried to initiate a conversation.

"Get out!" She ordered coldly.

"What?" He asked in disbelief. 'She seriously is not planning on abandoning me in the middle of nowhere right?' he asked himself.

"You f**king did not understand me or you did not get what I said?" She asked sternly.

He sighed in desperation. Finally surrendering, he sluggishly stepped out of the car.

Despite the fact that he was reluctant to do any of these dumb things she had been instructing him to do, he wanted to know what happened to her and what she's up to.

She followed him out of the car.

He breathed a sigh of relief, at least, she wasn't planning on leaving him stranded in the middle of nowhere. He could not help but admire how beautiful and elegant she was despite being dressed up like a gang leader.

"You'd better tell that puppet of yours not to drive any further or else I'll blow his car off!" She threatened.

"What are you talking about?" He furrowed his brows in genuine puzzlement.

"Trust me, I can and I will." She said firmly as she leaned confidently on the car, crossing her legs over the other with her arms folded together.

He looked at her trying to understand what she was insinuating.

From her facial expression, he knew that she was not bluffing. He did feel a strange dark energy around her this evening.

'oh shit!' realization dawned on him. He knew at once whom she meant by 'his puppet', it was Randolph.

She did not budge or soften her countenance for once.

He stared at her and a cold chill ran through his body.

He quickly fetched his phone in his pocket and rapidly dialed Randy's number.

He wasn't scared that she was gonna do something to him, she would have already done so if she wanted to. He was scared that she could hurt Randy.

He had no idea what she had become, so he couldn't take chances.

"I am fine, you can go home." Brant said briefly and disconnected the call.

He turned to her, Hoping to see a look of satisfaction or anything, but she was as stoic as ever.

He took a couple of steps towards her. " Why are we here?" He asked.

She stared at him silently.

"What do you want from me?" He rephrased.

She tilted her head to one side, freed her hands and flipped the sides of her blazer before standing upright.

"If you have any questions to ask me, you better get on with it now, because trust me, sending that stooge of yours to dig up info about me would only get him killed." She passively warned.

He unconsciously swallowed a huge lump of saliva to dampen his patched throat.

"What are you talking about?" He feigned ignorance.

"Fuck me!"  She cursed and rolled her eyes at him.

"I have got things to do…" she started.

"So do I." He quickly cut in.

She paused her speech and stared at him for a couple of seconds. ',he is unbelievable.' she thought to herself.

"Well good then, let's stop playing the lame game of ignorance here." She said, "you know exactly what I mean, and believe me or not, I am giving you this warning because I'm on your side here." She said, a little bit calmly this time.

"On my side?" He scuffed and shifted his weight from one leg to the other. "You kidnapped me, and now you say, you are on my side?"

"The last time I checked, you drove us here and I did not even have a gun to your head." She countered, still with her stoic appearance.

"Well…" he scratched his head.  She was right though, but in his defense, her piercing gaze was more than a gun to his head.

"So quit the buffoonery and bring on your questions."

He cleared his throat.

"Are you really Mila Rivers?" He asked the one thing that had been bothering him the most.

She nodded her head in confirmation.

He could bet his balls that he saw a sad look flash on her face.

"Right, so…. uhmmm… is your family still alive?" He knew how dumb his question sounded, he wanted to know alot but understood that it was a delicate topic and he needed to tread through it with care.

She raised her brow at him. "No." Boredom was evident in her voice.

"Meaning, you are the lone survivor?"

"Yeah."

"So… how did you survive?" He finally landed the principal question.

She was getting impatient, it was evident."Technical transportation issues." The state lawyer responded. He leaned towards Emille and asked, "what is keeping your witness?" Emille replied."Excuse me." Emille stepped out of the court to call for Mila.Brantley had arrived in the court too. He was worried, not that Mila could not take care of herself, but because he loved her, so it was natural for him to worry."What the hell is going on?" Emille asked in a concerned tone as soon as Mila answered."We got company." Mila replied."Do you need more refreshments?" Emille asked."I got it, I guess water would be enough to entertain them." Mila said over the phone."Good then, tell me where

At least this doctor here has fine taste in quality clothes, only if he could put those skills to what I put in my stomach." Mr Walborn glared at Dr Edgar. Mila could not help but laugh."You look handsome too." She mouthed to Dr Edgar when Mr Walborn got into the car. Dr Edgar was dressed in a simple shirt and trousers, he had a clean shave.
