Liena’s POV

When I opened my eyes again, the first thing I saw was a white ceiling and walls above me.

For several seconds, I simply stared at it without moving. Everything felt strange. My body felt heavy, and my head hurt like someone had hit me with a stone.

A faint smell of medicine filled the air.

Slowly, I turned my head and noticed medical equipment beside the bed. The quiet beeping sound finally made me realize where I was.

A hospital. Confusion settled inside me immediately. How did I get here?

Holding my head, I closed my eyes again and tried to remember what happened before everything went dark. Pieces of memories flashed through my mind. The restaurant. Kael. Helena. Their son. The lies. The betrayal. The pain.

Then I remembered leaving the restaurant. After that, I remembered standing outside. Then darkness.

I frowned slightly. There was something else. Something important. I remembered falling. I remembered strong arms catching me before I hit the ground.

I remember falling on his warm chest, hearing a steady heartbeat. For some reason, that memory felt clearer than everything else.

I tried harder to remember. Who was he? What did he look like? But no matter how much I searched my memory, I couldn’t see his face.

His features were hidden in shadows. Everything happened too fast.

The only thing I remembered was the feeling of safety before I lost consciousness completely.

After several moments, I finally gave up. There was no point forcing to remember him. Maybe it didn’t matter.

Pushing the thought away, I placed both hands against the mattress and tried to sit up. The moment I moved, dizziness slammed into me.

My vision blurred as a painful ache spread through my head.

I immediately grabbed my forehead.

“Ugh…” I mutter.

The room spun around me. I slowly leaned back against the pillows while taking deep breaths. Inside me, my wolf felt weak too. She wasn’t her usual strong self. The bond damage, heartbreak, stress, and grief had affected both of us.

I could feel her exhaustion. But even then, she refused to give up. I felt her trying. Fighting. Holding on.

A small smile appeared on my lips despite everything. We had been through so much together these past few days.

The betrayal. The lies. The heartbreak. Yet she was still here. Still standing beside me. Still fighting for us.

A wave of gratitude filled my chest. Thank you, I silently told her. She wasn’t abandoning me. And I wasn’t abandoning her either. After resting for a moment, I tried sitting up again.

This time, I moved slower. Halfway up, I suddenly heard voices outside the room. The sound was muffled through the door. At first, I paid little attention. But then my body froze.

I recognized those voices. It’s Kael and Helena. My heartbeat immediately sped up. The voices grew clearer as they moved closer to the room.

I stayed completely still.

“…I think this is the perfect time.” Helena’s voice floated through the hallway.

Her tone was soft. Almost sweet. But her words made my blood run cold.

“We should weaken Liena’s wolf even more. Now that she is unconscious.”

Silence followed briefly. Then she continued.

“If she loses her memory, everything becomes easier.”

My fingers tightened around the bedsheet nervously.

“What do you mean?” Kael asked.

His voice sounded calm. Emotionless. Helena sighed softly.

“If she loses her memory, you’ll have complete access to all her companies and shares.”

A chill ran down my spine. My breathing stopped.

“Nobody will question anything.” She adds. Her voice lowered further.

“And while we’re at it… maybe we should remove her womb too.”

My entire body went numb. My stomach twisted painfully.

“If she can’t have children, she won’t have any chance of competing with us later.”

The room suddenly felt freezing cold. I stared at the wall in complete disbelief. Was this how much she hated me?

Was this truly the extent of her hatred? Destroying my wolf wasn’t enough. Taking my mate wasn’t enough. Stealing my life wasn’t enough.

Now she wants to destroy my future completely. Tears burned behind my eyes. Both from sadness. From shock. From horror, from everything.

Then Kael spoke. His voice remained completely calm.

“There won’t be a need for that.”

I held my breath. His next words shattered something inside me.

“I already made sure she can’t have children.”

The world stopped. My heart nearly stopped beating. Outside the room, Helena remained silent. So did I. Then Kael continued.

“The miscarriages already did enough damage.” He adds.

I couldn’t breathe. My hands started shaking.

“The herbs the doctors gave her during recovery destroyed her womb years ago.” He adds.

Every word felt like a knife cutting into my chest. Again. And again. And again. His voice remained cold. Detached.

“You have nothing to worry about sweetheart.” He says again.

A pause followed. Then his final words came.

“Liena is as good as useless.”

Liena POV It was late at night when he came backin. The room was already quiet, the kind of quiet that felt heavy instead of peaceful. The soft light from the bedside lamp made everything look slower, almost frozen. I was still resting in bed, my body weak from everything that had happened in the past days. Then the door opened. Kael walked in. He was holding roses. Red ones. Fresh. Perfect. Like they had been chosen carefully, not out of love, but out of habit. He closed the door behind him with the same calm expression he always had. No rush. No emotion. Just controlled steps across the room with smiles. “Congratulations sweetheart,” he said flatly as he approached. His eyes briefly moved over me. I didn’t answer. He didn’t seem to expect me to. He placed the roses in a glass vase on the table near my bed. Then he adjusted them slightly, making sure they stood upright. Everything about him was calm. Then he turned to me. “I’ve been thinking,” he continued. “Once you are

Kael’s POV Later that evening, I found Helena in the corridor of the manor. Outside, darkness had already swallowed the estate, and what caught my attention was Helena looked angry. Helena was pacing. Each step seemed fueled by frustration. Her hands were clenched tightly at her sides, and every muscle in her body looked tense. The moment she noticed me, she stopped. Her eyes immediately locked onto mine. She looked furious. Not the loud, dramatic kind of fury. This was colder. Like she had been waiting for me specifically so she could unleash everything she had been holding back. For several seconds, neither of us spoke. Then she folded her arms. “I thought you told me you had everything handled and figured out.” Her voice sliced through the silence. I looked at her without reacting. My expression remained neutral as I had no interest in matching her anger. No interest in arguing. I simply waited as Helena stared at me expectantly. When I didn’t respond immediately, irritatio

Liena’s POV Kael looked shocked. For a brief second, the emotion flashed across his face before he quickly hid it behind a look of excitement. A nervous smile. His eyes remained fixed on me as if he couldn’t quite believe what he had just heard. “Pregnant?” he repeated. The room was silent again. His voice sounded calm, but there was something strange underneath it. He looked at the doctor’s file being given to him by Mara. “Are you sure?” he asked. Mara immediately nodded as Kael continued. “The results are accurate?” He ask again. His question made my chest tighten. The doctor had already left, but it felt like he was questioning the result itself. “Of course alpha they’re accurate,” Mara answered sharply. Kael nodded slowly. His expression remained controlled. “Right.” He add. Then a few seconds later, he asked again. “There wasn’t any mistake during testing?” Mara looked annoyed now as I simply stared at him. Why was he asking so many questions? Then something sudde

Liena POV Panic immediately gripped me. Four hours? That was impossible. It felt like only seconds had passed. My heartbeat quickened. I looked around nervously. Then one question immediately entered my mind. “Where’s Kael?” Mara hesitated. The brief pause told me everything before she even answered. “He hasn’t arrived yet.” A bitter feeling settled inside me. Of course he hadn’t. Part of me had hoped he would be here. Even after everything. Even after all the disappointment. A small part of me still hoped. I hated that part of myself. Before either of us could say anything else, the door opened. A female doctor entered carrying a medical file. She wore a warm smile. “Good afternoon, Luna.” I nodded politely as the doctor walked closer. She glanced down at the file before looking back at me. “Your test results are finally back.” I straightened slightly. The serious look on Mara’s face made my stomach tighten. The doctor smiled. Then she said the last thing I expected. “Con

Liena’s POV I stay seated in the sitting room, keeping my attention on the television while paying no attention to whatever was happening with them. At least, that was what it looked like from the outside. In reality, I wasn’t paying attention to the tv show either. The voices coming from the screen sounded distant. The colors flashed across the television, but I couldn’t focus on any of them. My thoughts were somewhere else entirely. I kept my expression calm and neutral. No anger. No sadness. No disappointment. Meanwhile, across the room, Kael, Helena, and Ethan were still together. From where I sat, they looked like a perfect little family. The sight should have hurt less by now. It didn’t. Every time I looked at them, I was reminded of everything that had happened. I felt like an outsider in my own home. I lowered my eyes to the plate of fruit resting on my lap and took a bite. Normally, I enjoyed fruit in the morning. Today, even the smell seemed strange. For a few moment

Kael POV The next morning arrived far too quickly. Sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting pale gold across the room. I woke before everyone else. Years of leadership had trained my body to function on minimal rest. Even after a late night, I was fully awake within minutes. Helena remained asleep. One arm was draped across my chest. A few strands of hair covered her face. For a moment I simply watched her. She looked peaceful. Far more peaceful than she had in weeks. The recent pressures surrounding the family had taken a toll on everyone. Especially Helena. Seeing her finally resting without worry eased something inside me. Carefully, I moved her arm aside and climbed out of bed. She stirred. Then immediately rolled over and stole my pillow. I stared at her.. A smile tugged at my lips as I give her a good morning kiss. Then I headed toward the bathroom. By the time I finished showering and dressing, the house was beginning to wake up. I adjusted my tie in front of the
