LOGINLeina’s POV
As if nothing had happened, Kael’s expression quickly softened. “My Luna…” he called gently while walking toward me. Like I hadn’t just caught him holding another woman. “Sweetheart…” he said again, smiling warmly. The same smile that used to melt my heart every single time. “Happy anniversary to us. Ten years already… I still can’t believe we made it this far.” His voice sounded lovingly perfect and carefully practiced. “Future mother of my pups,” he added softly while staring into my eyes like he truly meant every word. I stayed silent. I didn’t move at all. Behind him, Helena calmly fixed her dress and brushed her hair back like nothing happened. Then she smiled sweetly at me. “Happy anniversary, Luna,” she said softly. “Actually, today is a double celebration.” She looked at Kael lovingly before continuing. “Alpha Kael just closed a huge contract.” Kael immediately smiled proudly . “Yeah,” he said casually. “ Helena and I were celebrating with wine before you came in. The contract is worth billions. I’ve been trying to secure it for years, and finally it worked out.” He chuckled a laugh lightly and then continued. “Looks like the Moon Goddess decided to bless me on our anniversary.” My fingers twitched slightly beside me. I knew exactly which contract they were talking about. This wasn’t just any business deal. It was the gift my grandfather secretly prepared for Kael after believing he passed the ten-year loyalty test. For years, rogues struggled to survive in the werewolf world. Most packs looked down on them. Humans feared them. Rogues had no true place anywhere. But this contract would change everything. It would allow rogues to work openly beside humans and werewolves. New technology systems, AI security projects, and business partnerships would connect both worlds together. Power. Recognition. Freedom. Everything Kael ever dreamed about. And my grandfather gave it to him because of me. Because I was the connection between them. “ Leina.” Kael’s voice pulled me back to reality. He stared at me carefully before stepping closer. “Come on, sweetheart,” he said softly, realising how quiet I’ve been. “What you saw earlier was just a misunderstanding. It meant nothing.” Lies. Every word coming from his mouth was a lie. “You know how much I love you.” He added. Before I could react, he leaned down and kissed my forehead. But this time… I felt nothing. No warmth. No comfort. No mate bond pulling me toward him. Only cold emptiness. I quietly stepped past both of them and looked around the office. Beautiful gift boxes covered the table nearby. Jewelry. Designer items. Luxury gifts. Then my eyes landed on a silver wristwatch, the same one I admired months ago, the one I never bought because Kael told me we needed to save money for the company. Beside it sat a necklace too I once saved on my phone after seeing it online. More gifts followed. All expensive. All things I secretly wanted before convincing myself not to waste money. “Oh, this…” Helena started softly while reaching toward one of the boxes as her eyes landed on a rose-colored card inside, its font was written “To my one true love.” “They’re all yours, my Luna,” Kael interrupted immediately. He smoothly stepped between me and the card. Then he smiled at me again with those same loving eyes I trusted for ten years. “I bought them for you,” he said gently and Helena went quiet instantly. She simply lowered her eyes and stepped back silently, like I stole something that belonged to her. “They are all mine? Then why didn’t you send them directly to our villa?” I asked calmly. Kael paused for half a second before smiling again. “Of course, darling. I’ll have them delivered immediately.” He quickly added, “I just wanted to inspect everything personally first. You know I never want anything disappointing you.” I stared at him silently. Every second around him felt unbearable now. I turned and walked away before the tears burning my eyes could finally fall. Outside, the hallway remained bright and cheerful. Employees laughed together under decorations celebrating a love that never truly existed. Maya quietly walked beside me. Before she could say anything, I spoke first. “Find out everything connected to the contract between Blackthorn Enterprises and grandfather.” I said coldly. “I want every detail.” Maya nodded immediately. “I’ll prepare everything, my Luna.” We left the building together. The drive was painfully quiet as my mind replayed everything repeatedly. Kael’s lies, his secret family and everything that broke me. His plans to throw me away after using me. To distract myself, I grabbed my phone and opened social media but stumbled upon someone I recognized instantly from the past. It’sThe Supreme Alpha. Kael’s greatest enemy. One of the strongest Alphas in the werewolf kingdom. A man who hated rogues more than anyone else. He is dangerous, powerful and proud. And once upon a time… he was my childhood sweetheart. Years ago, he asked me to become his mate and Luna. A real bond blessed by the Moon Goddess. But I rejected him. Again and again. Because I loved Kael. I remembered looking him directly in the eyes and telling him my heart belonged to another man. My fingers tightened around my phone, seeing him again. The photo showed him wearing a fitted black suit. He looked cold as always, handsome, and intimidating without even trying. Even through a screen, his presence felt overwhelming. Then I noticed the caption below his picture. “Contractual mate needed. Interested candidates should apply in person. Payment can be discussed later.” My heartbeat quickened slightly. A temporary mate… For a moment, I stared at the post quietly. Then I scrolled past it. He belonged in my past. And I wanted nothing connected to him anymore even though I needed his help. A little while later, I asked Maya to stop at a restaurant near the road so we could eat before heading home. The moment I stepped out of the car, a familiar scent suddenly reached me and my wolf stirred violently. Slowly, I turned toward the restaurant window and I saw them. Kael, Helena and their son. The three of them sat together at a table near the center of the restaurant. Kael held the little boy easily in his arms while the child laughed happily beside him. Helena sat close to them, smiling warmly. They looked perfect together. Like a real family. Like the family Kael promised me for ten years. For a moment, my chest felt completely empty. Beside me, Maya spoke carefully. “Luna… should we leave?” I kept staring at them. At the way Kael looked at the child with so much love. At how natural everything felt between them. Then I shook my head. “No,” I said quietly. My eyes never left them. “We’re staying.” Without another word, Maya and I walked inside and sat at a corner table far enough away not to be noticed. Meanwhile, inside me, my wolf burned with rage.Liena’s POV “My location is not your problem anymore, Kael,” I said calmly. “I’ll call you later.” Before he could say another word, I ended the call. Then I heard a low chuckle. I looked up and found the Supreme Alpha watching me with that familiar unreadable expression on his face. “So,” he said in his usual emotionless tone, “have you truly moved on from Kael? Or are you still head over heels for him?” There was a teasing glint hidden beneath his calm expression. I rolled my eyes and lifted my wine glass, taking a small sip, I stepped closer to him. “Kael is my past now,” I replied firmly. He studied me for a few seconds as if processing my words. His face remained composed, giving away nothing. Then he nodded slightly. “Good,” he said casually. I moved toward one of the chairs nearby and sat down while The Supreme Alpha remained standing, holding his wine glass in one hand. A moment later, his expression became more serious. His voice carried a more business-like tone. “
Liena’s POV I said nothing, I couldn’t even find my words. But suddenly, I felt my wolf stirring inside me. Mate! Mate! She snarled happily, almost trembling with excitement as I tried to push her feelings down. I really did. I tried! But it was impossible. My heart started beating faster as his eyes remained fixed on mine. For some reason, the atmosphere between us changed. The teasing smile he had shown moments ago faded, and something deeper settled between us. Something I couldn’t explain. Something only my wolf seemed to understand. Something his wolf understood too. The pull was there. Strong. Warm and comforting. It wrapped around me, connecting us together. I had felt a mate bond before and I knew what it was. But this… This felt different. It felt stronger and safer. My wolf was practically glowing inside me. She had never reacted like this before. Then he finally spoke. “You can feel it, don’t you?” I blinked as my throat tightened. Because he was right. I could feel
Liena’s POV I was finally discharged from the hospital, and for the first time in days, I felt like I could breathe again. As I stepped into the pack house, my body still felt weak from everything that had happened, but my heart was strangely calm. Today was finally the day I was going to meet the Supreme Alpha. Just thinking about it made my stomach flutter with nervousness. After everything I had gone through, I never expected my life to take such a turn. A few weeks ago, I had been nothing more than an unwanted wife trapped in a painful marriage. Now, I was preparing to meet the most powerful Alpha in the entire werewolf kingdom. Mara had spent the entire morning helping me get ready. She refused to let me do anything myself. “Today is important,” she had said earlier. “You need to look breathtaking.” And she had truly done her best. The dress looks so good on me too. It was a long gown made from soft silk fabric that hugged my body perfectly before falling gracefully to the
Kael’s POV Just before I could say another word to Liena, my phone started to ring. I pulled it out of my pocket. The screen showed Helena’s name. I answered it right away. Helena’s voice came through, weak and broken. She was crying hard, gasping between words. “Kael… please… come home. The baby… I’m bleeding. It hurts so bad.” My face twisted for a split second before I locked it down. I didn’t wait to hear anything else. I turned and rushed out of the hospital room without a glance back at Liena. My steps hurried more even as I headed straight for the car. Once inside, I gripped the wheel tight and drove fast. My hands trembled just a little, but I kept my jaw clenched and my eyes on the road, maneuvering every little traffic. Just then, I received a pop up message from Helena as i checked and saw Helena had sent a picture. The image showed blood all over her clothes and the floor. It looked like a miscarriage. My chest tightened, but I pushed the feeling down. I had to get to
Liena’s POV I knew exactly where this was coming from. Kael was not a fool, but neither was I. After hearing his conversation with Helena days ago, after learning what they had planned for me and my womb, I understood that every act of concern he showed me now came with another purpose hidden underneath it. He wanted me out of the main building. He wanted me away from the center of the estate. Away from the place that carried authority within the pack. Away from the home my family had built long before he ever became part of my life. I was not foolish enough to agree. I looked at him quietly for a moment before speaking. “It’s fine,” I said softly. His expression remained unchanged. “I appreciate your concern, but I’m comfortable staying in the main building.” Kael stood beside the bed, his posture straight, his face calm and unreadable, clearly unpleased with my response. “The smaller quarter is more suitable for your recovery,” he said evenly. “It has fewer disturbances.” I
Liena POV It was late at night when he came backin. The room was already quiet, the kind of quiet that felt heavy instead of peaceful. The soft light from the bedside lamp made everything look slower, almost frozen. I was still resting in bed, my body weak from everything that had happened in the past days. Then the door opened. Kael walked in. He was holding roses. Red ones. Fresh. Perfect. Like they had been chosen carefully, not out of love, but out of habit. He closed the door behind him with the same calm expression he always had. No rush. No emotion. Just controlled steps across the room with smiles. “Congratulations sweetheart,” he said flatly as he approached. His eyes briefly moved over me. I didn’t answer. He didn’t seem to expect me to. He placed the roses in a glass vase on the table near my bed. Then he adjusted them slightly, making sure they stood upright. Everything about him was calm. Then he turned to me. “I’ve been thinking,” he continued. “Once you are
Kael’s POV Later that evening, I found Helena in the corridor of the manor. Outside, darkness had already swallowed the estate, and what caught my attention was Helena looked angry. Helena was pacing. Each step seemed fueled by frustration. Her hands were clenched tightly at her sides, and every
Kael POV The next morning arrived far too quickly. Sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting pale gold across the room. I woke before everyone else. Years of leadership had trained my body to function on minimal rest. Even after a late night, I was fully awake within minutes. Helena remain
Kael POV The door to Helena’s bedroom clicked shut behind us as I tightened my hold on her while she still wrapped her legs around my waist. Her arms slipped around my neck, and before I could say a word, her lips found mine again. The kiss was warm, familiar, and full of the longing that always
Liena’s POV A low chuckle came from the other end of the line. “That’s not why I called, sweetheart.” He adds. His deep voice rolled through the phone, calm and smooth. I frowned immediately. “Then why did you call?” I ask. “To check on you.” Came his response. For a moment, I genuinely tho
