Chapter 3

Autor: Ranye
I ended up in Vittore's study on the third floor. He didn't say anything right away but went over to the bar cabinet, poured two drinks, and passed one of them to me, saying, "You should have some brandy. You look like you need it."

I accepted the glass of brandy, my hands shaking slightly.

"Have a seat," Vittore said, taking a seat on the leather couch in front of the fireplace. "You seem to know what kind of person Luca truly is, Ms. Rossi."

I took a sip of the brandy and replied, "Yes, I do. I know Luca enjoys leaving marks on women and that he has converted the room beside his bedroom into his personal torture chamber.

"I also know that he allows his subordinates to take turns 'sampling' his women, all while he films their interactions and keeps the tapes as a collection."

Vitorre lightly tapped his fingers on the armrest of the couch, stating calmly, "You know more than I imagined, Ms. Rossi. Why did you agree to marry Luca in the first place, then?"

"It's because my father ordered me to," I replied with a wry smile.

"What a foolish reason," Vittore said. He watched me for a long time afterward—long enough that I began to fear that he'd have his men toss me out—before he suddenly asked, "Do you really think you can provide me with a successor?"

"I can," I replied as I placed the glass down, trying to appear as composed as I could.

I then lifted my gaze and continued, "I'm young and healthy, with the Rossi bloodline running through me. I think the most important thing is the fact that your son's tactics won't break me like they do the others. I've already been betrayed by my sister, so there's nothing left for me to fear, Don Corleone."

Vitorre actually smiled in response; it wasn't the cold smirk he'd shown earlier, but a genuine, amused smile. "You're quite courageous—either that, or you're acting out of desperation."

"I guess both are true," I stated flatly.

Vittore rose to his feet and walked toward me, his towering height casting me entirely in shadow.

I caught the scent of cedar and whiskey on him, feeling the heavy weight of his presence. I knew that it was the kind of pressure that only a man in his position could exert.

Vittore didn't lay a finger on me; instead, he simply leaned forward, bracing his arms on the couch to either side of me and confining me in his presence.

Vittore murmured, his warm breath grazing my ear, "If I marry you, you'll become the Madre of the Corleone Famiglia, with boundless wealth, authority, and respect at your command. But in exchange…"

His lips were inches from my ear as he continued, "...you must never betray me, show any weaknesses, or disappoint me, Ms. Rossi."

I could feel my heart racing in my chest as I asked, "What happens if I let you down, Don Corleone?"

Vittore straightened his posture, a flash of cruelty appearing in his ice-blue eyes. "Luca is merely a child with his playthings, so I'll make sure you understand the methods of the Don, Ms. Rossi."

It was then that a burst of noise rose from below—music, laughter, and the sound of glasses clinking. It seemed like the engagement banquet had begun.

Vittore stepped back and straightened his cuffs. "You have three days to think it over. If you're still here after that, I'll have my lawyers draw up the prenup."

I immediately responded to him. "I don't need three days. I can give you my answer right now."

I rose to my feet and continued, "I'll agree to it, but I have two conditions."

"Go ahead and state them."

I stated flatly, "I want our wedding to take place before Lia and Luca's. I want everyone to see who is truly marrying into the inner circle of the Corleone Famiglia."

Vittore nodded. "I can do that. What about your second condition?"

I took a deep breath before replying, "I want your guarantee that whatever happens, any child of mine—your future successor—will never be left to Luca."

I was trembling, but I still pushed through it. "I don't want him making bets on who the father is just for a laugh or letting his men lay a finger on me."

In this life, I was determined to protect myself and my child.

"That's enough. I won't allow anything like that to happen, since the future successor will be mine alone," Vittore snapped, his face a mask of fury. He left it just like that, but the fire in the fireplace suddenly surged and wavered.

It was a month later when the doctor informed me that I was pregnant.Vittore beamed with a boyish excitement. He whirled me around, then caught himself and lowered me back to my feet with extreme caution. He rested his hand over my lower abdomen and said, "I have to be careful now; after all, I don't want anything to happen to him."I said, "I could be pregnant with a baby girl."He kissed my forehead, saying, "I'm fine with having a daughter since she'd be as pretty as you are."Lia's pregnancy ended in miscarriage at three months. Luca refused to marry her. Instead, he gave her money and sent her away.I simply refused when Dad asked me to intercede for Lia, saying, "She killed my child. She took my life, too."Dad fell silent, never bringing Lia up again.I could feel my belly growing bigger with each passing day. Vittore would touch my belly daily and talk to the baby. He would tell the baby stories in Cisilian, and every now and then, he would press his ear to my belly t

In that instant, everyone in the banquet hall fell silent before a surge of well-wishes erupted. They turned their attention to Luca, patting him on the shoulder and offering their best wishes.Luca looked conflicted. He seemed smug and boastful but also carried a flicker of unexplained anxiety.Vittore leaned in and whispered, "They're putting on quite a performance."I turned to him in surprise. "You're already aware of this?"He took a sip of champagne and replied, "I found out about it three days ago, since the doctor of the clinic she visited is one of my people."Lia was still basking in the well-wishes, her hand lightly resting on her flat abdomen while smiling triumphantly. She was completely oblivious about our knowledge—and she would never figure it out.It was the middle of the wedding reception when Vittore brought me out to the terrace, where Nova Tork's night view stretched out below us, a carpet of brilliant lights. He asked, "Are you nervous, Elvira?""A little.

I was rendered speechless as Vittore thrust repeatedly, leaving only fragmented moans. "Y-You're too deep, Vittore."Vittore thrust more forcefully, saying, "It's not deep enough. I want you to remember this sensation. Remember who is screwing you and who owns you, Elvira."He slapped my backside, leaving a stinging red handprint behind. "Who do you belong to?""Y-You…""Who's the one who's going to make you pregnant?""Y-You… Vittore…""Who will ensure that Luca can never lay a hand on you?""Y-You… Please, Vittore…"Vittore suddenly sped up and thrust into me with primal ferocity, causing the desk to shake violently and sending everything on the surface clattering to the floor.I climaxed, my body convulsing uncontrollably as I squirted.Vittore wasn't done with me. He flipped me onto the desk and pulled my legs up over his shoulders, driving deeper than before. He then commanded, "You'd better keep your eyes on me as I thrust into you, Elvira."I stared at the man in fron

It was the night before the wedding when Vittore arranged for the chauffeur to come pick me up. I wasn't taken to the cathedral but to his estate on Langda Isle. His chauffeur stated, "Don Corleone requested your company for dinner. He also wants you to become acquainted with your post-wedding surroundings, Madre Corleone."I immediately understood the implication. It was a large estate that resembled a medieval fortress. There was a row of uniformed household staff waiting outside to welcome me, calling me Madre Corleone.Vittore was waiting for me in his study. He wore a navy velvet robe that hung open, exposing his powerful chest. His blond hair was wet, looking as though he had just stepped out of the shower. There was a lone desk lamp that provided the only light in the study, supplemented by the glow of the fire jumping in the fireplace. He asked, "Have you signed the agreement?""Yes.""Do you disagree with any of the clauses?"I replied, "I have none. I think every on

Lia destroyed everything she could get her hands on in the living room once Vittore's lawyer arrived. She was shouting so loudly that I could hear her screams through the door. "Who does that bitch think she is? She must have drugged Vittore—or maybe she just went down on him! That slutty, low-life whore!"Dad barked, "Shut it, Lia! Do you want the entire city of Nova Tork to hear this?"Lia wailed. "I don't care! I'm the only one worthy of becoming the Madre! I'm younger, prettier, and I'm better at pleasing a man than Elvira! Luca even told me that I'm a hundred times wilder than she is in bed—"I then heard a loud smack from the other side of the door, followed by Lia's sobbing.I sat in the bedroom with the prenuptial agreement laid out before me. It was 37 pages in total, each clause meticulously outlining obligations, rights, and the consequences of a breach.Vittore's lawyer, a bald elderly man, stated, "I suggest you pay close attention to Article Seven, as it covers the c

I merely sneered inwardly, finding Luca's response ridiculous.Vittore held me and turned around. He then made an announcement, his voice regaining its usual authority. "You should all continue with the celebration. Here's a toast to my bride-to-be and myself."It was then that a trembling waiter brought a new bottle of champagne over. Those present raised their glasses as well-wishes echoed through the hall. Although they were offering their well-wishes, everyone's gaze betrayed a frantic excitement for gossip, darting constantly between the four of us.I knew exactly what was on their minds—a storm was about to break, and I would be standing in the center of the eye of the storm, held firmly in Vittore's embrace.Vittore never removed his hand from my waist; his palm stayed on my lower back even while accepting other people's toasts. He would sometimes give a slight tug, drawing me closer until my back was pressed fully against his chest.I could feel the steady thrum of his he
