**Elena**

Woah. Woah. Woah.

Trumpets blaring, drums pounding, cheers breaking like waves. Canopies everywhere, bright colors catching the sunlight, the air buzzing as though the whole world had gathered to see this.

And maybe they had.

Logan’s words echoed, clear as the day I first dragged myself into this madness: WE TAKE ARCHERY VERY SERIOUSLY HERE.

He wasn’t kidding.

This wasn’t a simple game.

This was a festival, a celebration, a show. I half-expected fireworks to burst over the sky. My palms were already sweating, and the bow hadn’t even touched my fingers yet.

Two weeks. That’s how long it had been since the Irene and Blake mess. Two weeks of silence, as if they had vanished off the earth. And honestly? I didn’t know if I liked that or hated it. Their absence was both a relief and fear.

Not that I had much time to dwell. My days had been swallowed up…training until my arms ached from pulling strings, practicing until the target blurred in my vision.

And when I wasn’t shooting

**Elena**“Wh…what are you doing…” I shifted back a step, my heart racing so fast..Gasps exploded around us. “Don’t do anything stupid right now, Olivia…”Her name was everywhere. Alpha Zain, a few others, their voices sharp, panicked, echoing through the field. But Olivia didn’t move. She didn’t even flinch. Her eyes were locked on me, steady, unreadable, and that damn bow in her hands was aimed right at my chest.I lifted my hands, palms out and my throat felt dry. “It..it’s just a game. Please… put down the bow.”“Olivia!” Alpha Zain’s voice cracked…. “If we get disqualified, I’ll end you!” He was cussing at her.And then…just like that…she blinked. Almost like she’d woken from a trance. The bow dropped away from my body, smooth and slow, and she turned it back toward the target. The string snapped and the arrow flew. Directly at the center.Cheers filled the air, as if nothing had happened.Olivia grinned, flashing teeth at me. “See? You’re not the only one good at this.”I

**Elena**“Good luck out there…” I whispered, my lips curling into a smile as Logan and I walked to the center of the field. My chest was buzzing with nerves, but I refused to let it show. This round was different. No team effort. Each partner would take turns. Women first. My eyes shifted to Alpha Zain’s woman as she stepped forward. She turned her head….sharp, deliberate…and threw me a glare that sliced right through me. My stomach flipped, but I forced my chin up…Her face was painted with thick black eye makeup, shadow smeared heavily around her lids. She looked like those girls from school….the ones who’d steal your lunch, laugh in your face, and still punch you in the gut for daring to breathe. Her posture was perfect, almost military. Shoulders rolled back, spine straight as a spear, chin tilted like she would crush whoever was in her way. Her hands were steady too, fingers wrapping around the bow like it had been molded for her alone. Intimidating. Yeah….That was the w

**Elena**We both turned toward the door, shocked. Her grip on my neck loosened a little, but my head was still pounding and my chest rose and fell in ragged breaths. But that wasn’t what froze me.It was the way Blake stormed into the room…. His eyes locked on Irene, and in a heartbeat, he was on her. He yanked her off me, his hand snapping around her throat, and slammed her back against the wall so hard the frame shook.“How dare you touch her,” he growled.Irene clawed at his arm, her legs kicking weakly. Her lips parted, gasping for air.And I… I couldn’t even move at first. My body was trembling, but not only from what Irene had done. Blake’s sudden appearance made everything worse. How did he even know what was happening in here? How long had he been listening?I wanted Irene to pay for trying to kill me, yes…but not like this. Not in Blake’s hands.“Blake…” My voice came out rough, almost begging. He didn’t even look at me. His jaw clenched, his grip tightening around Iren

**Elena**“What… happened?” My voice was hoarse, scratchy, as the fog slowly peeled away from my eyes. I blinked, once, twice, until the blur gave way to the familiar sight. Not the training field. Not the canopy. My room.My head pounded, but the memory of Logan’s arms…strong, flashed behind my eyelids. For a moment I clung to it, but then a sharp, screeching sound ripped through my skull, splitting the memory apart.“Arrgh!” I winced, clutching my temples.“Lady Ena… are you okay?” A gentle palm pressed against my shoulder, grounding me. I turned slowly, meeting the worried eyes of the nurse at my bedside.I forced a shaky breath. “I… I think so,” I whispered, though the words didn’t feel true.Movement at the end of the bed drew my attention. The doctor stood there, his expression grim, clipboard in hand. The weight in his eyes told me this wasn’t going to be good.“What’s wrong, doctor?” My voice trembled as I sat up straighter, ignoring the weakness in my limbs. He hesitate

**Elena**"Be careful, my Queen," he said, his hand tightening on my arm just before I tipped forward, my face almost kissing the floor.I froze. My Queen?Slowly, I turned my head to him, my pulse kicking hard against my ribs. "What did you say?"Blake straightened me up with a careful tug, then instantly let go, as though my skin had burned him. He stepped back, his jaw tight."I asked you a question, Blake.""What did you just call me?"His eyes darted...first to the ground, then back to me. "It's nothing... My Lady. My apologies." He bowed his head quickly and started to walk away.No. That couldn't be nothing. The word clung to me.... My chest ached, as if my heart itself wanted to claw out. And then...I felt her.My wolf. She's been silent since the drowning. But now...She stirred.I took a shaky breath. "No... you said it. You said my Queen. I heard you."Blake froze, half-turned away from me. His brows furrowed deeply, his whole body tense, before smoothing into something
