Chapter 42 : Unexpected Guest

Elsie’s POV

I woke up in a slightly bad mood, probably because I was affected by Mom's arrival yesterday. If I think about it, it feels like I'm quite unaccepting of her appearance.

My condition was almost fine. I gradually fixed what originally made me feel so miserable. But it still wasn't good enough to deal with it. I was still very disturbed by her presence.

Even if I crossed paths with Mom, I was sure I wouldn't be okay. My chest would probably feel tight from holding back the pain that resurfaced because of her.

"I don't want to think about her." But my head couldn't help thinking about the mother who made me feel pain to this day.

I ran cold water over my head. The morning shower was my way of helping my mind get organized while dispelling the bad mood that would affect me throughout the day.

"What do you want me to prepare for breakfast?" I muttered in front of the refrigerator door after finishing my shower, staring at the ingredients that seemed to have increased in number
