LOGINAlexander’s POV
The girl's body collapsed on top of me. I moved the damp hair from her face. She lay warm and limp against me, her breath shallow, her lashes damp with tears. Her naked body was burning hot. She had given everything she had, every ounce of strength and emotion, every shred of innocence, until exhaustion claimed her. “Who is she? What is going on? Why is she in my chamber?” All these questions jumped into my head. I saw our bare bodies mingling together, my heart was beating fast, I tried to sit up, but due to the little weight on my body. I had to move her aside, so with care I pushed her on my side and covered her body with sheets. The girl lay asleep on the mattress, hair spilling across the pillow in a dark, tangled mess. Mate. Ours. She is fire, claim her now! My wolf Thunder voice was raw and frantic with excitement. Thunder was losing control, he was demanding I reach for his mate, mark her, and claim her, he wants his teeth into her soft skin and binds her to us forever. My chest heaved as his hunger surged, the scent of her, wild, sweet, intoxicating, curling around me like smoke. “Enough, Thunder! Stop it.” I snapped at him inwardly, silencing him with the steel edge of my will. I took back control of my body. “You will wait, and not demand anything.” I looked at the girl's face once again, my beast snarled, resisting, but I caged him with discipline. My wolf might burn with desire, but I would not let lust or instinct rule me. Not now. Not when I had enemies circling like vultures. A rustle sounded from the shadows. I didn’t need to look. “Sapphire, show yourself.” From a corner of my chamber, a figure stepped out. My most trusted man, my second in command, and my beta, Sapphire, showed him. Sapphire's eyes were down, his shoulders tense as he knelt at once. “My King…” he began, but his voice was low, and I could feel the disappointment in his tone. I stared at him coldly. “Sapphire, explain this to me.” My tone was harsh and demanding. My eyes were glowing red. Sapphire wolf coward, and he took two steps back. “She is here on the orders of The Elders. She is the daughter of the Alpha of Blood Pine Pack. Her name is Vexia Blackclaw. She is married to you by the order of The Elders.” He bowed lower, stammering. “I, I returned late from my mission. I failed to stop her. By the time I entered, she had already… she had already climbed onto you. I swear, my King, I meant no disrespect.” “Failed.” My voice cut like a blade, soft but lethal. “You call this failure?” “They believe… they believe the Alpha King can be stirred awake, they want her to bear your child.” He stopped, trembling. The shameful truth hung heavy between us. They had used a girl as a vessel for their desperate hope. And she came out as my mate. My expression darkened. “Lock this girl away. She has no place at my side. I do not accept her as my wife.” Sapphire hurried forward to obey my orders. A relief and fear twisted his features. He moved toward the bed, reaching for her unconscious form. But he stopped as footsteps echoed outside the door. Sapphire froze in his steps. His eyes darted to me, and he then slipped through the window and hid once again, leaving only the curtains swaying in his wake. I had no time to curse him. I sank back into the bed, forcing my body still, arranging my limbs with practiced precision. My lids lowered, my breath shallow, controlled. I covered both of us. The door creaked open. “Ah,” a voice drawled, smooth, mocking, soaked in venom. “What a sight this is.” Ronan Grey Thorn. My step-brother. After the death of my mother, my father married his mother. Ronan is raised beside me. Fed from the same table, taught by the same tutors. And yet, always in my shadow. Always second. It always bothered Ronan; he was upset when he lost the race for the Alpha King. He came into the room as though it belonged to him, his boots clicking against the polished floor. His eyes swept the bed, the unconscious girl, my unmoving form, and a grin tugged at his mouth. “You should thank me, brother,” he sneered, stopping at my bedside. “I’ve been generous.” His hand waved toward Vexia’s body, who was sleeping peacefully, unaware of all the affairs. “I gave you a woman to warm your bed.” Ronan’s tone was coated with poison, each word a jab meant to wound. A cripple. That’s what he saw. A king lay low. “Bother, you should have seen her helplessly signing the contract of a marriage with a crippled, Alpha… ” he continued, leaning down close, so near I could feel the heat of his breath. “Ahh, she was sweet, frightened, beautiful, and a virgin too. But unfortunately wasted on you.” He came from the other side of the bed. He bent lower on Vexia, his gaze sliding to her body showing from the blanket. He slowly inhaled her scent, his nostrils flared as if savoring her scent, and a groan of approval slipped from his lips. My wolf erupted in fury, a roar shaking the walls of my mind. He dares! He dares touch what is ours! I held still and controlled my wolf. My fists clenched beneath the blanket, my nails digging into my palms until the skin threatened to split. But I did not move. Not yet. “Dear brother, do you want to know the truth, brother?” Ronan’s voice softened, venom lacing the silk. “It was her father. Yes, her father, you know that? Vexia Blackclaw’s father helped me plan your fall. Without him, you would still sit untouchable on your throne. But now…” He straightened, his smile vicious, his eyes glinting with ambition. “Now, you are nothing. A useless cripple. And me? I hold the reins. I act in your stead. The pack follows my command.” My teeth ground together, rage covered my whole body. Ronan wasn’t done. He leaned closer, close enough that his shadow stretched across both me and Vexia. “I can not kill you now because it will tremble the balance of the pack and the werewolf world, but soon… I will take everything from you.” “The power, the position, the title, and why stop there?” His voice dripped with greed. “The throne will be mine soon. The kingdom, the woman. Yes…” His gaze lingered on Vexia’s limp form, a hungry curl to his lips. “Even your woman.” The wolf inside me slammed against his cage, a howl of such force it rattled my bones. Kill him. Rip his throat. Tear him apart. No one touches her. No one takes her. My blood boiled, every muscle screaming to lunge, to strike, to end him here and now. But I was still. Timing. That was the key. For now, I let him believe I was helpless. I let him spill his poison, let him show his hand, while inside me the fire of vengeance burned hotter than ever. When the moment came, I would make him regret every word, every breath, every second he dared stand in my shadow and believe himself my equal. Until then… I lay still, fists clenched beneath the blanket, the promise of blood burning in my veins. Ronan Grey would not touch my mate. Not now. Not ever. My wolf growled.Alexander’s POVI froze as I realised she was crying. I saw tears running down Vexia's face freely, and her hands shielding her body from me. I growled and moved up.But Thunder was not backing away; his rage was on another level as I tried to retreat, but he growled in my head. Our mate has betrayed us… She was disloyal to us, and she is shameless, so she deserves this punishment. She is crying for him, she wants to go back to him…Thunder has never been so angry at our mate. Whenever I said I wanted to send her away, it was always my wolf who stopped me. He loved Vexia so much. But tonight he was so angry. He wants me to continue and claim her forcefully. She gave birth to your child, and yet she dared to try to bind herself to Ronan. Mark her body and claim her…Thunder’s voice echoed in my head. I was feeling so angry as the image of Vexia in a wedding gown, ready to take vows with Ronan's burned in my head. But I have to control myself, this is not right, I am not an animal, an
Vexia’s POVThe world was blurring around me. The wolf was running so fast, carrying me on its back across the night. The wind whipped through my hair, and the night air was so cold, I felt my body shivering. But I clung to the thick fur beneath me with trembling hands. I didn’t dare to struggle, because one wrong movement might send me tumbling to my death. My heart was beating so fast against my ribs. I had no control over my body or my escape. I don’t remember how much time has passed, but the speed of the wolf was like fire through the night. His paws barely touched the earth… But at last he slowed down. I gulped and sat on his back. I was feeling dizzy. But I saw the huge gates of an unfamiliar stronghold, the torches flared, and guards dropped to their knees. The air was thick with awe and fear. I don't know anything about Knox, but his wolf; he commanded absolute submission, and then, before I could breathe, I was inside a castle. The stone walls and corridors rushed pas
Alexander’s POVVexia's voice cut me deeper than any blade.“Ronan!”She had cried out for him… FOR HIM!!! How can she forget me so easily? Can't she recognize me?Ronan’s pain mattered more in her eyes. This filth who dared to claim her in my absence, does he deserve her devotion? Why does she even feel for him? I felt a red haze cloud my vision, and my wolf howled inside me in anguish and fury. She’s ours! She is our mate. She dares to cry for him…Thunder roared inside me.She dares… dares cry for him? Kill him apart, rip his throat out. My wolf was driving me crazy, increasing my anger…And her, our mate, locks her away until she remembers who she belongs to. She is a disloyal Luna. She is disloyal to us, but we will make her remember, she is ours. Always ours! The rage was so much that I only saw blood. Ronan got up from the rumble and came towards me to charge, but before he could do it.My fist flew, slamming into Ronan’s jaw with bone-crushing force. The blood sprayed from
Vexia’s POV For a moment, everything and everyone went silent. The air shifted the moment that voice echoed in the hall. It is undoubtedly an Alpha command. Not only the wolves but the elders also stiffened. It feels as though the command from him reached into their very hearts and brains. And then the crowd parted, making a path for the man. A tall and authoritative figure was coming towards me and Ronan, taking slow steps. The man is dressed in a black gown with silver markings on it, and his presence is burning brighter than any torch. A silver mask is concealing his face. But no mask can hide or dim the aura radiating from him. Knox. The crowd whispered his name… All of them went crazy only to get a look at him. “Knox?”“The Alpha of the X Corporation, here?”“Why would he…? Does he mean to steal the bride?”As the words rang in my ears, I felt a shiver run down my spine. I grabbed my dress as cold sweat formed on my forehead. My heart was beating wildly against my ribs as
Vexia’s POV“No, you are thinking wrong, I didn't betray you…” I said to him, my head shook violently. “I wasn’t running away. I was just,” My breath came in shallow gasps, and my body trembled as though I would just lose consciousness. Ronan’s eyes bored into mine; his gaze was demanding an explanation. My voice cracked. “I was searching for Elva. I can’t find her.” It was the first lie that crawled into my mind. And I said it. Hurried steps of an Omega interrupted us before Ronan asked more. There was panic on her face as she ran towards us and stopped in front of us. Her face was flushed, and she was breathless, and her eyes were wide with terror.“My Lord,” she bowed low, then, after taking a breather, she looked towards me. I could see the worry and panic in her eyes. “Luna, Little Elva, she is missing!” She dropped a bomb on my head. The world tilted, and I felt the floor was snatched under my feet.“What? What are you saying?” I was stunned. I was feeling like a wounded
Vexia’s POV“What are you doing here?” I questioned. My eyes lingered on the locked door of the room. I saw the Lust and something wild in Darius's eyes. My body shook in fear, but I could not show this to him. Darius took slow steps towards me and stopped a few feet away, his eyes raking over my body.“I couldn’t stop staring at you, Vexia. In that dress, you shine like a queen, you should have been mine…” Darius stepped forward. “What… what are you planning, Darius?” I said, I don't want Ronan or anyone else to find me here. I have to get out. My mind was trying to think of something…“Planning? Nothing at all, Luna. I only came to remind you of what you already are.” I saw the smirk on his lips. “What I already am?” His words sting, and they made my blood boil. What does he think of me?“Yes,” His lips curved into a mocking smirk.“A woman without loyalty. You gave yourself to Alexander and gave birth to his child. Yet right now, you are standing here in a wedding gown for Ron
Vexia’s POVAfter that night, Ronan didn't come back. It's been months since he left. I haven't seen him again, but I don't know why his thoughts always cross my mind.I was healed fully in two weeks, so I came back to Alexander’s chamber. I took care of myself, so my baby can be healthy. I was als
Alexander’s POVI was deep in sleep, lost in my own thoughts, when something pulled me back—the sound of someone crying. I stayed still, careful not to show I was awake. Vexia. The faint taste lingered on my lips. Salt! Her tears. Her small hand clutched mine; her hand was shaking. I can smell bl
Vexia POVRonan's hands were on my waist as he pulled me close. Everywhere he touched, I felt as if insects were crawling over my body. Only the thought of showing my body to anyone other than Alexander was making me cry. The horror struck me when he grabbed my shoulders and pushed me down. “Vexia
Alexander’s POVThe room is silent, as Sapphire left earlier. Only the sound of Vexia’s soft breathing filled the space. She lay beside me, due to the medicine, she is asleep, her lashes trembling against her cheeks as though caught in a dream. I saw that her dress was torn apart, so I removed the
