72. Friendship

I come back from my thoughts once I hear my phone ringing. I check the caller ID. It’s amber calling. I quickly answer so I can give her the good news.

“Hi, Eleanor, how are you doing today? Have you eaten? Did you sleep well last night?” Amber asks once I answer. This is what Amber has been doing for the past two weeks. She calls me every morning even though she is supposed to be sleeping. I am so grateful to have her in my life. She cares about me greatly. I couldn’t have asked for another person in the world to be my best friend.
