Chapter 2

Author: Here I AM
I tagged several more staff in the group chat who also had the same kind of rare blood as Chloe.

[@ZoeSmith @JakeMartinez, aren't you both RH-Negatives too? Why aren't you going?]

[Or are you both into Chloe too?]

RH-Negative blood had always been precious. If they had been willing to go, they would not have been stirring things up in the group chat. The moment they saw that, they panicked and quickly argued back.

[Exactly. Why should we be forced to donate?]

[I was planning to donate at first, but after hearing what you people said, I don't want to anymore. I don't want to be accused of being a creep with some hidden agenda for Chloe. Gross!]

[The blood is part of my body. I'll donate if I want to, and I won't if I don't. What does it have to do with you?]

The two of them pushed back one after another.

[I've seen in the group that Professor Liam has donated blood for free many times earlier. He isn't someone who would take advantage of someone in trouble. He must be quite ill now, that's why he isn't going. What right do you have to guilt-trip him like this?]

[Exactly. What if the donation affects his health? Who's going to take responsibility for that?]

Jake even tagged Chloe directly.

[@ChloeSmith, even if you want Professor Liam to donate his blood, you can't ruin his reputation and spread rumors about him like this. No one would be generous if you do that.]

As soon as she said that, Chloe sent a voice message, her voice full of grief and anger, "Professor, you like me. You've harassed me for so long, and I'm finally willing to give you a chance. What else can you possibly be unhappy about?"

I sneered as I replied: [I love my wife very much. I'm not blind to fall for someone like you!]

After a long while, Chloe stopped messaging the group chat.

I let out a sigh of relief, but the weight in my chest still remained.

Everything had only just begun.

Eventually, a volunteer donated enough blood to Chloe. Once she was out of danger, the first thing she did was call me. "You've lost your chance now, Liam Connor. It's too late to regret it."

I scoffed and answered without giving her any courtesy. "Whoever saved you has terrible judgment. They shouldn't have saved an ingrate like you."

"Are you lashing out because I hit a nerve?" Chloe growled over the phone in annoyance. "Don't think you can hide those filthy thoughts you have. You can stop the act already!"

I froze, becoming somewhat confused. What made her so confident exactly?

Chloe went on, her voice filled with arrogance and smugness. "You like asking me questions in class. You've always cared about whether I understood the lesson. You even care about my family. Isn't all of that because you wanted me?"

I was so furious that I laughed. "I'm your professor. It's perfectly normal for me to ask students questions in class. Not to mention your parents called the college several times and demanded that you drop out already. As your professor, of course I had to find out why."

But Chloe only laughed in contempt. "I don't believe you can be that kind. I know how old men like you think better than anyone. I'm so young and beautiful. It's normal for you to want me. If you want me to be with you, fine. You'll have to make me an offer that satisfies me."

Her greedy tone made me sick.

I looked up and forced down the chill in my chest. "What makes you that confident? Everyone in class knows you don't shower and that you stink. Even your roommates avoid you. I'm a neat freak, and my standards aren't that low. If students hadn't kept complaining that you were bothering them, did you really think I'd waste my time on you?"

My words were cruel, and Chloe was so angry that her breathing turned heavy. "You're a professor! How can you say something like that?!"

"So what?" I gritted my teeth and hit back at her. "I'm a professor and I teach and guide students, true. However, I'm also human. Since you've already slandered me like this out in the open, why do you think that I should have even a hint of patience with you?"

Chloe was so furious that she cursed me out loud, the words she used were so filthy that I could not stand it. I quickly hung up after that.

Sensing how angry she was, my mood improved greatly.

Victor hated me with everything he could muster. One day, he walked straight up to me and pointed in my face, yelling, "Was it you? Did you do all this so Chloe would grab onto me? You ruined me! I won't let you get away with this!"I shrugged. "Wasn't this your own trick? How does it feel now that it has been used on you? Happy?"My words sent Victor into a fury. In a fit of rage, he pulled a knife from his waistband and lunged at me. "If I can't live well, neither can you! Let's die together!"I was shocked, my eyes widened as I tried to dodge. But he was stronger than I was. He caught up to me in just a few steps and kicked me to the ground. As the knife came down toward my chest, I closed my eyes in despair. But the pain I expected never came. When I opened my eyes, I saw that Evelyn had run in with campus security. The guards had already restrained Victor and they would take him to the police station. However, before I could even breathe a sigh of relief, he was released wi

I shook my head in disbelief and looked at her nonchalantly. "Chloe, can you still not see it? Victor is the one who wants to be your baby's father."Chloe froze and looked at me in confusion. "What does this have to do with him? You're clearly the one who's always wanted me.""Of course not." I raised my eyebrows and kept guiding her patiently.I said, "After you got pregnant, he kept worrying about you and being afraid you would be mistreated. Isn't that love? He even took you to your prenatal appointments and gave you money to buy supplements. Isn't that love? He knew perfectly well that I love my wife and would leave with nothing if I divorced her, yet he still told you to keep pestering me. Wasn't that because he was afraid you would really go find another man? You're all he sees. Can't you tell?"Chloe fell into deep thought. I raised my eyebrow slightly as I pressed on. "Think carefully, for the sake of the baby in your womb. Do you really want your child to be born with peo

"Honey, how did you..." I had clearly told Evelyn I would handle everything and that she did not need to worry, but she had still made her move. With swift, decisive action, she had cleared my name.Evelyn held my hand, calming me down. "You've been acting strange every time you came home lately. I got worried, so I hired a private investigator to look into it. I didn't expect him to actually catch them in the act."For a moment, the cafeteria went silent. Then the crowd went wild again."This is all fake! Don't believe them! They used AI to make this so they could get away with it! I never did anything like this!" Victor's face was pale, and even his lips were trembling. However, no one believed him anymore."How can they be that disgusting? They did all this just to frame the professor?""Professor Connor is so unlucky… He helped his own student out of kindness, but she tried to latch onto him, and then he got stuck with such a vile colleague too...""Good thing that he has a g

I took out my phone and showed everyone screenshots of the messages I had exchanged with Chloe. In fact, the chat not only included my messages with Chloe, but also my conversations with the other students in class. Now, those records were my best weapon.I posted the screenshots directly on the campus's message board. I said, "These are the messages between me and my students. I've been teaching for years, and I often let students use my office to finish their projects. I also gave out books and materials for free when they needed them. These records include both male and female students. According to your logic, does that mean I was trying to sleep with all of them?"This time, the students who supported me began to speak up again."Exactly. The professor lent me a computer too. He said it was old and told me to return it later. I'm a man. Does the professor want me too? Does he want me to give birth to his son? He is absolutely not that kind of person."More and more people sto

It was at this time that Victor stormed out of the crowd and pointed at me, yelling, "Are you trying to kill the baby in her belly to destroy the evidence, Liam? She worked so hard to get into college, and you forced yourself on her! Now that she's pregnant, you're still doing this to her. Are you trying to get her killed?"It was lunchtime, and Victor's accusations pulled everyone's attention. They stared at us with curious eyes, waiting for the drama to unfold. Some people even took out their phones and started streaming.Chloe and Victor were clearly determined to smear me as the perpetrator. Chloe even began to sob at the crowd, her face covered in tears.I watched her without any expression on my face. If I could not clear this up, I would probably end up the same way I had in my previous life.I had to calm down and expose her lies. The people around us started arguing, each side insisting they were right. But most of them sided with Chloe, their eyes full of malice as they

  • My Wife, My Hero   Chapter 4

Chloe was eventually taken to the police station, but I still felt upset about the whole thing. No matter where I went, I heard people talking about it all day long.Only when I got home and saw Evelyn did I finally breathe easier.I took photos with Evelyn and posted them on my social media, along with our prenuptial agreement. I was used to keeping a low profile, so showing off my marriage so openly for the first time felt strange. But I suddenly found it kind of fun after a few more posts and a flood of envious comments came in, especially when I saw the faint blush on Evelyn's face. For a moment, it felt like we had fallen in love all over again. The next day, Evelyn came to campus at noon to bring me lunch and eat with me. For a while, the whole college started shipping Evelyn and me."Married couples are still the sweetest. Liam and Evelyn are such a perfect match. I'm so jealous of their relationship.""Liam and Evelyn are so lovely together. There's no room for someone de
