Mag-log inThe surroundings of the mansion were already cloaked in darkness, with only the large bulbs hanging in every corner of the garden providing a sliver of light. I carried a bowl of food for the dog, Bruno. Despite being exhausted from a full day of tending to Don Freddie, I never forgot to feed my husband’s dog.
As I walked alongside the high wall of the mansion, I suddenly stopped. I heard a strange sound coming from a dark part of the garden, a sound like someone struggling to breathe, as if being strangled, or like an animal giving birth in the intensity of its moaning.
"Ana?" I called out softly when I saw the familiar shadow of my fellow maid.
Ana was facing me, her knees buckling, eyes bulging, and her mouth open as if wanting to scream, but no voice came out. Behind her was a man I couldn't quite make out because the thick branches of the hibiscus bushes obscured them. All I could see was the man’s hand gripped tightly around Ana's neck, seemingly strangling her with sheer cruelty.
Fearing that something terrible would happen to Ana, I didn't stop to think. I quickly turned and grabbed a piece of hardwood—a leftover piece of firewood from when the staff roasted a pig for my wedding to Freddie. With all my might, I raised the wood and, without hesitation, swung it at the man’s face.
A crisp thud echoed. The wood struck the side of the man’s jaw and cheek.
"F*ck!" a baritone voice groaned in pain and rage.
The man let go of Ana, who quickly sank to the grass, gasping for air. It was only then that my eyes widened. As the man slowly stepped out of the shadows of the hibiscus, I felt my entire body go cold.
It wasn't just any thief. The man I had struck was none other than Henry—my husband’s son, who had just returned from Europe. There was a smear of blood on the corner of his lip, and his eyes seemed to burn like fire in his intense rage.
"S-Sir Henry..." I stammered, dropping the wood. "I thought... I thought you were hurting Ana."
Henry didn't answer. Instead, he took a swift step forward, and before I could run, he grabbed me tightly by the neck. He slammed me against the wall with all his strength, causing my breath to hitch.
"You... you little b*tch," Henry snarled, his face only inches away from mine. I could feel his hot, fragrant breath mixed with the scent of alcohol. "Who are you to hurt me in my own home? Do you think because you married my old father, you have rights here? Especially the right to hurt me?"
"M-My mistake... I'm sorry..." I sobbed, trying to pry Henry's hand from my neck, but it was like iron.
Henry was further consumed by rage. He pressed his body even closer to mine, filling every inch of space between us. Due to the intense closeness of our bodies, I felt a hard, hot object poking against my stomach—Henry’s hard manhood, seemingly awakened by the intensity of his anger.
I gasped. I knew what it was. I could feel its hardness despite my thin dress.
"See this?" Henry whispered, pressing his lower body harder against my stomach while his other hand gripped my jaw to force me to look at him. "I am so furious with you, woman, but you just added to my rage. And because of what you did, I’ll make sure you won’t get any sleep tonight."
"S-Sir, please... h-have mercy..."
I couldn't breathe. Henry’s hand strangling my neck felt like steel, while my back was being forced into the cold, rough cement of the wall.
"S-Sir... y-you have it wrong..." My defense was stuttering and trembling. Tears began to well in the corners of my eyes.
A bitter, mocking smirk formed on Henry’s lips. Instead of loosening his grip, he pressed his body even harder against me. Consequently, I felt the hard surge of Henry’s manhood poking against my lower abdomen even more. I felt uncomfortable because of the heat and a feeling I couldn't explain.
Suddenly, Henry grabbed the thin fabric of my dress near the chest, enough to hear the faint rip of the seams. I gasped and tried to cover myself, but Henry was faster.
"Why, Solana? Are you jealous?" Henry whispered mockingly while looking at my trembling lips. "Is that why you hit me, because you wanted me to notice you? Because you want to be in Ana’s position?"
"N-No... I—I was helping her—"
"Liar!"
"S—Sir… please," I pleaded, finally breaking into tears.
"Stop it with this 'good girl' act!" Henry snapped, pressing his face closer to my neck. "What? Does your husband’s c*ck not get up anymore, so you're looking for something hard? Are you that thirsty because you settled for a decrepit old man just for money?"
"Sir, please don't talk about your Papa like that..." I pleaded through my tears.
Henry let out a sarcastic laugh. "Don't you? Why does it hurt you? Or does it hurt because you know it's true? Tell me, what's your price? How much did Dad pay for you to please him?"
Henry violently pulled my hair to make me look up at him. "You got billions... but it seems you weren't satisfied in bed. I can feel you trembling, Solana. Are you scared? Or are you getting wet because, for the first time in a long while, you're feeling like a man who still has his strength?"
"Y—You're wrong... I'm not that kind of woman..."
"Liar!" Henry shouted.
"Don't treat me like a fool, like Dad did. He paid you, and as payment for what you did, you’re on my list!"
Henry pressed his lower body firmly between my thighs, making me feel every inch of his hardness. "You want it hard, don't you? Something you can feel all the way to your throat? I’ll make sure you never forget this night, bitch!"
"Henry! That’s enough!"
A loud voice caught Henry’s attention; it was his Godfather, Roberto. He violently and abruptly let go of my neck. I almost fell and nearly slammed my face into the plants. My whole body was shaking as I mabilis na niyakap ang sarili ko (quickly hugged myself) to hide my exposed bra from where Henry had grabbed my dress, my sobs barely audible due to extreme fear.
Ninong Roberto stood not far away, his face full of disappointment and anger as he looked at his godson.
"Go now, Sol. Go inside," the old man ordered, gentle yet firm. He stepped forward slightly to block Henry’s view of me.
"I apologize for what my godson has done. Go now!"
Solana did not answer his question and she didn't care at all about whatever Henry might think. The only thing that mattered was her child. She quickly shoved her things into her bag without organizing them, turned around immediately and ran toward the office door."Solana, wait!" Henry called out, but she kept going without looking back. Henry had no choice but to just watch her leave in a complete panic. As soon as she arrived home, she parked her car on the side of the road and ran through the open gate."Ma'am Solana! Ma'am!"The nanny rushed to meet her, crying heavily and shaking from extreme fear and worry. She was holding her apron while desperately trying to explain."I only left for a moment to get a snack from the kitchen... I didn't notice that Princess got out of the gate! I searched the entire street and the next block, but I couldn't find her! I'm so sorry, Ma'am. Please don't send me to jail!" she begged through her sobs."Where are the other two?" Solana asked immedia
The whole floor where the engineering and architectural teams stayed was quiet. There was no trace of noise except for the soft sound of keyboards and the gentle voice of the HR Manager, Katrina, as she showed Solana around the large office."So, Solana, just like Sir Rafael briefed you, you will serve as the lead structural engineer for this whole project," Katrina explained with a smile as they walked."I will introduce you first to the whole junior team and the resident architects before you go straight to the executive suite.""Thank you very much, Ms. Katrina," Solana answered. She forced her voice to be steady, even though with every step, it felt like a heavy stone was pressing on her chest. She held her leather folder tightly. Katrina stood in the middle of the open-plan office and clapped two times to get everyone's attention."Good morning, everyone! Attention please," the HR Manager said."I want to introduce to you our new lead structural engineer for the Manila Coastal In
I calmly told Rafael to use the restroom before we left the restaurant. I needed a few minutes away from them, a few minutes to breathe and fix myself up after the confusing tension at the table. After using the restroom, I retouched my makeup and adjusted my clothes. When I made sure I looked presentable, I went out.But the moment I turned the doorknob and stepped out of the bathroom, a strong arm suddenly grabbed my arm.I gasped in surprise, but before I could even speak, he quickly pulled me to the side and leaned me against an empty corner next to the wall, far from the view of the people and the dining area.He pressed his body against mine, making the hair on my skin stand up from the familiar feeling of Henry’s skin.“What the! Let me go, who are you, bastard?!”His jaw tightened, and his eyes seemed to be burning with anger. I wasn't able to finish what I was going to say because he held me tightly by the waist and brought his face so close to mine that I almost went cross-ey
THE NEXT DAY, Henry entered the executive boardroom for a very important partnership meeting. His company was set to join forces with Vandel Construction and Engineering Firm for a multi-billion infrastructure project in Luzon.Henry stood at the end of the long glass conference table, formally and emotionlessly adjusting his cufflinks while his executive secretary and board members surrounded him. His aura was cold, just as everyone was used to.The large boardroom door opened, and the CEO of Vandel Group walked in—Rafael Vandel, his former college classmate from Ateneo who now had his own successful business."Henry! It’s good to see you again, man," Rafael greeted cheerfully as he walked quickly toward him and shook his hand. Rafael was with a woman, but she stayed behind him, so Henry didn't notice her much and didn't really care."It’s been five years. The whole country has really been looking up to you.""Rafael," Henry responded coldly but formally, giving a short nod. "Glad to
AS THE SUN slowly sets and darkness covers the sky, the tall buildings in the center of the district light up one by one. But on the highest floor of the Del Carmen Enterprises tower, only the light coming from the large glass window and the cold glow of a laptop screen brighten the office.Henry is sitting in his swivel chair, leaning back while his right hand keeps clicking his pen. His eyes, showing no trace of emotion are focused on the documents of a billion-peso contract that he needs to sign before the night ends.Five long years have passed since his father died and he officially took over the entire Del Carmen assets. During those five years, Henry did nothing but bury himself in work. He made the once successful company grow and expand even more. Under his iron rule, Del Carmen Enterprises reached the peak of success, making him the second richest and most powerful businessman in the Philippines. The business world admired and feared him. He was known as a merciless man towa
The days passed like a long dream from which I could not wake up. Even until now, I am still staring blankly into space. After Freddie's cremation and quick burial, I was left with a deafening kind of silence—a silence that suffocates my system every single second. I often sit by the window of my room, staring at the vast garden that has been completely neglected since the housemaids all left. I long for Freddie. I miss his voice, his advice, and the protection he gave me even in the final moments of his life. He was the only one who knew my secret. But despite mourning my elderly husband, there is a part of my heart that cannot help but rebel. My confused heart, with every beat, screams nothing but Henry’s name.I want so badly to see him. I want to feel his presence, even if his eyes are cold or his words are full of insults and sarcasm. Maybe this is also due to my pregnancy, this intense longing for the father of the child I am carrying. These past few days have been incredibly di
I peered down and was shocked by the obscenity unfolding between the two. Under the cold moonlight filtering through the window, I saw a sight I never expected. A naked man was on top of Ana. His broad back showed hard muscles rippling with every violent thrust. Despite the darkness, I knew every li
I ran toward the mansion without looking back, carrying my shattered dignity and a fear that felt as if it would be etched into my heart forever.Meanwhile, Henry was left behind like a lion robbed of its prey. He could feel the intense tension in his jaw. Most of all, he felt a sharp ache in his gr
The sunlight streaming through the large windows of the dining hall failed to provide any warmth to me. Instead, I seemed to feel even colder as I sat across the long table. At the end of the table sat Freddie in his wheelchair. His skin was as pale as paper, and every breath was accompanied by a f
Moan for me, Mom! Let your husband hear how much pleasure you're feeling while I'm pounding you, harder!”Henry, my stepson, was on top of me, pounding on me, while right beside us lay my dying husband. I knew my husband could hear us, but Henry was wild, vulgar, and somewhat sadistic. It was as if
