I rang the doorbell, and when I wasn’t answered fast enough, I knocked on the door impatiently.

The door was pulled open soon after that and Bailey had a shocked expression on her face. “Brandon?” She faked being surprised. “Why are you here? Charlotte is at her grandma’s for the weekend.”

“You know damn well why I’m here.” I gritted my teeth as I pushed through the door. I didn’t want to be in the same space as her, but I also didn’t want to attract attention by arguing with her outside. “What is your problem?” I asked when I reached the living room and realized she was following me.

“What do you mean, Brandon? Did I do something wrong?”

I held back a sigh. This woman was manipulative as fuck. She knew exactly what she did, yet she was waiting for me to spell it out. “Find a way to retract the news you deliberately put out there. I don’t want to have to do this by myself.”

“What news are you talking about?”
