Chapter 5

Agatha's pov

The chime of the elevator goes off and I look up as the elevator doors open

I step into the apartment looking around and trying to control my awe, the penthouse was so beautiful and spacious

There was an L-shaped beige settee in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows that overlooked the bustling city, a center table that had a flower vase and books on it, and a little leg cushion by the side of the center table.

It looked like something out of a magazine with a beige theme, I moved towards the windows out of sheer curiosity and immediately moved back overwhelmed with a sensation that felt like I was falling

"Are you okay Miss Evans?" Bosley asks coming to stand beside me, I shake my head "No uhm I'm scared of heights" I say my voice shaking a little

"Ooh I'm sorry about that Miss'll let Mr. Blackwell know immediately," he says already bringing out his cell phone

"No there's no need for that ill be fine, I'll just avoid the windows or something," I say stopping him

He nods his head not seeming convinced "All alright then, your luggage will arrive shortly, I'll leave you to it" he says turning to leave

"Wait what about Cade? I ask "he'll be with you soon " he answers I nod my head and continue looking around

I move towards the tv console and pick up a picture of whom I assume is a sixteen years old Cade and his parents with his brother, they look so alike and seem to be the same age

The elevator doors open and I scrabble to drop the picture frame back and turn to see Cade walking in

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to snoop, I was just looking around and I saw the picture and I was curious and-" he raises a brow at me

I flush embarrassingly "I'm sorry for touching your stuff" I mumble he lets out a chuckle that my body seems to enjoy and I blush even harder if that is possible

"There's no need to apologize it's your house too for now," he says and I nod not wanting to embarrass myself further

"Come," he says moving towards the stairs "I'll show you to your room" I sigh and follow him

We stop at the first door in the corridor, "This will be your room, You can get some rest If you need anything ill be in my office"

I nod and he makes his way down the hall, I guess that's where his office is, I open the door and once again I'm blown away by how beautiful the decor is

The room had a queen-sized bed and a couch I check out the closet and can't help the gasp that leaves my lips

This closet looks like something straight out of a reality show "Claire would love this"

I check out the bathroom next and it is equally breathtaking "I think I'm in heaven" I mumble to myself stepping into the space

There's a huge white tub and a shower stall by the side of the tub, There's a bathroom rack on the wall beside the shower which holds different bath products

I sigh leaving the room, I wish Kaylee could see this "shit Kaylee" I quickly look for my bag, and when I don't find it I make my way downstairs

I look around the sitting room for my bag "Where is it? I mutter out loud "Are you looking for something Agatha" I hear Cade baritone behind me

I jump in shock caught off guard "Uhm yh my bag I want to call the hospital to check on Kaylee" I tell him

"Okay, and Agatha don't hesitate to ask if you need anything," he tells me

I nod digesting the information "Thank you so much I don't know what I would have done if you hadn't helped"

He waves me off "We're helping each other Agatha, so there's no need to thank me" he lets out, I nod my head

"And your bag is on the dining table," he tells me, I look towards the dining and there the bag is

"Thank you" I mumble going to take it, he nods "Agatha" he calls out and I turn to face him

"Be down by seven, we'll be setting some ground rules over dinner" he declares and walks away before I have the chance to respond

I guess he's already tired of my presence and wants to set boundaries to prevent getting into each other's space

I sigh this is gonna be my life for the next year, I open my bag looking for my phone,

I switch it on and I see that I have several messages from Claire calls from Dr. Lin and different articles that tagged me,

I didn't think about how popular Cade and his family were when I accepted to get married to him

I called Dr. Lin first and he answered on the first ring, "Miss Evans thanks for returning my call, I was calling to inform you that the treatment for Kaylee has been covered"

I blanch in fear, did I do this for nothing? Who covered the payment for the treatment?

"By who? I ask "Ahh he said he is your husband, Mr Blackwell" I can hear the question in his voice, and I don't have it in me to explain

"Miss Evans, are you there? Is everything alright "Uhm yes I'm fine, I'm alright"

"Okay we'll be starting the process by tomorrow and she'll be feeling a little weak during the whole treatment process," he tells

"Okay, thank you, Dr. Lin" I respond and end the call, I quickly call Nurse Bella to check on Kaylee

"Hi Agatha, Thank GOD you called I've been worried, I saw the news," she says and I panic

"What? Did Kaylee see it too? I ask frantic "No she didn't she's been prepared for her treatment"

I sigh in relief "Okay thank you, How is she? Can I speak with her? I ask "She's a little grumpy she has to leave the other kids but she's alright, although I think she's nervous about the whole treatment thing, Dr Lin explained it to her but I don't think she understood much" she responds

I sigh "Okay can I speak to her? I answer gratefully I don't have to explain the treatment thing to her myself "Yh sure"

"Agy? Her high-pitched voice sounds on the phone "Hey kay watsup, how do you feel? Do you need anything?

"I'm fine, I feel okay I'm a strong girl, and I need donuts" she answers with a little sass in her voice

I chuckle "Okay strong girl, I'll get you your donuts tomorrow when I come to visit," I tell her

"Can I get a milkshake with that" she adds and I imagine if I were seeing her she would be giving me those cute puppy eyes

"Yes kay I'll get you a milkshake too" I add with a laugh "Okay give the phone back to Nurse Bella, I'll see you tomorrow before your treatments"

"Agy? This treatment will make me feel better right? She asks the strength in her voice gone, " Yes Kay I promise it will just be strong for me okay?

"Okay Agy I'll be strong," she says "That's my girl now give the phone to Nurse Bella" I instruct

"Are you going to tell her about it? She asks immediately after she gets the phone. I sigh already knowing she's talking about the marriage "Yes I will, I'll tell her"

"Good it's not good to keep secrets like that no matter how little she is," she tells me

"I know, I'll come visit tomorrow before the treatment starts, " I tell her "Okay and Agy take care alright"

"Yh I will, bye" I sigh feeling tired and in dire need of a bath

But first I have to find Cade and thank him, I just have to find his office first

I walk away from the dining room going towards the end of the hall, where I saw him walk to

I come to a stop in front of a brown oak door, This should be it

I try to calm my racing heart, it seems to do that when I'm around Cade

I shake off the nervousness and raise my fist to knock, but before I can do that his voice reaches my ears

"Come in Agatha"
