Chapter 6

Agatha's pov

I open the door and the first thing I notice is the bookshelf standing by the side of the door

I took in the office condition, everything looked so expensive, I didn't even want to think of how much money Cade spent on the decor

I look up to see his eyes are already on me, I blush embarrassed that he'd caught me ogling his office

He doesn't say anything so I speak "I just wanted to thank you, I didn't know you already paid for Kaylee's treatment, so thank you"

He nods "It's alright it was part of the arrangement, You marry me I pay for your sister's treatments, so there's no need to thank me," he says

I nod "Okay uhm do I have to make dinner or? I ask trailing off as he shakes his head

"There's no need for that I have a cook who comes to prepare my meals, she'll make us dinner just come down by 7," he says dismissively

I nod and turn to leave and I swear I feel his lingering gaze on me but don't dwell on it

I take a bath when I get to my room and proceed to take a nap, I still had 2 hours till 7 and I could use some rest

The sheets were so soft and silky that I fell asleep almost immediately and also lost track of time

A knock wakes me from my slumber and it takes me a minute to adjust to my surroundings and remember I'm married

I look at the ring, it's so beautiful, I sign and check my phone to see some message from Claire

I tell her ill call her and explain everything soon, I check the time and see that it was currently 7:19 "shit!! dinner" right on cue there's another knock on my room door

"I'm coming" I pick up my phone and run to open it to see a looking Cade "You're la-" he stops whatever he is saying his eyes straying away from my face

I look down to see that I'm still wearing my white silk nightgown and my nipples are practically begging for attention

I gasp and fold my hands over my chest "I'm sorry I fell asleep and lost track of time" I say looking anywhere but his eyes my heart rate increasing

"It's okay just come down," he says sounding tortured "yh ill be down in a minute " he grunts and turns to leave

I close the door and lean against it trying to calm my racing heart, "urgh" I grunt and go to look for my black robe among the things that were delivered

I cover up and make my way to the dining room, Cade is already seated when I enter I take a sit in the chair opposite him

He nods acknowledging me "Help yourself," he says and I look at the food on the table, I guess we were having grilled chicken, baked potatoes, and grilled vegetables.

I put a sized portion on my plate, I was starving and the food smelled so good I was practically salivating

We eat in silence until Cade clears his throat, I look up and he speaks

"We have to set ground rules, so we are on the same page" I finish swallowing and nod my head in understanding

"For the duration of our marriage, you'll be my date to any functions, gala, or public event I have to attend," he says looking at me intently

He was probably trying to gauge my reaction "Okay I can do that" he nods

"You'll have to meet my family and act like a couple," he tells me and I nod

"We have to show the public we are happy and in love, which means we have to show affection in public," he says trying to gauge my reaction

I stare at him wide eye "So we have to kiss and hold hands? I ask

"Yes Agatha we'll have to kiss," he says his face blank I swallow nervously all of a sudden

"What's wrong you haven't been kissed before? He asks, I blush "Of course I have I just don't think I can kiss you!! I say

He raises a brow at my response "You don't find me attractive Agatha? The way he draws my name causes a shiver through me

I hope he didn't notice that "I-its not that I ju….you are…. You don't want to kiss me" I fumble over my words

He leans into his chair "What makes you think so? He asks

I chuckle nervously "Are you kidding me? Look at me, I'm way out of your league" I say fidgeting with my hands in my lap

He sits up and says "You're beautiful Agatha I'm sure any guy will kill to kiss you"

I flush not used to compliments "I-thank you" I say

He gets up done with dinner "Well we don't have to worry about that for now" he says "What do you plan on doing tomorrow? He asks

"I want to visit my sister before her treatments start," I say

He nods "Bosley will take you to visit your sister after that you'll be going shopping"

I shake my head "I have clothes I can wear I don't need to go shopping" I tell him

"You need clothes that show the public that you're my wife" he insists

"But I don't need them, I have enough" I try to reason with him

"I'm your husband and I want my wife in finer clothing, is that a problem? He asks

irritated

I swallow and shake my head "No it's not" "Good Bosley will take you" he says and strides out

I sigh pushing the remaining food not in the mood to eat anymore I shouldn't be upset I chose this

This is my life now, I am the wife of a CEO and billionaire I had to look the part

I'm lost in thoughts when my phone vibrates indicating an incoming call

I pick up my phone to see a picture of a smiling Claire and rocky

I sigh already knowing I am in for a long conversation I swipe left answering the call

Her voice floats through the empty dining room "You've got some explaining to do Agatha"
