“Are you sure you really want to do something like that, Clare?”

My aunt's question didn't surprise me.

In fact, it was something I had already expected. While my Aunt Delia's questioning happened to be logical and very valid, my situation was not the best.

I had made a deal with Greco to give my clan a chance; I took the options he gave me and chose the one I considered most necessary to satisfy the thirst for revenge I had against the Dubois.

But my plan went down the drain, and somehow or other I had to fulfill the pact I had with Greco. That made me submit to his every request.

Like unleashing a damn parasite that would wipe out livestock and crops.

It was something I had no trouble doing, especially after Axel's grandfather burned all the land my clan once owned. It was a form of burlesque revenge that gave me a great deal of satisfaction.
