“Wake up! Wake up!” shouted Selene loudly.

When I opened my eyes again, I realized that I was shaking and my body was bathed in sweat. Selene was beside me; she was worried and looked very tense. I sat down next to her and immediately hugged her tightly.

“What was it that you dreamed? What was it that upset you so much?” My mate asked so softly that I couldn't help but feel helpless.

“My family,” I answered her question with my voice hoarse. "I dreamed about my family; they gave me an omen, Selene. I must take care of you no matter what."

Selene raised her eyebrows to the sky and then blew me a kiss.

She didn't care if I was sweaty, scared, and shaking; she just sought to soothe me, and that kiss really centered me.

“It's all right, I'm here, I'm by your side,” she said, and I shook my head as I realized she thought it was a nightmare.

“It was a vivid encounter, Selene, like the ones you have with Azael,” I said, and she raised her eyebrows. “My family gave me an omen from the go

IzanMarco said nothing until everyone was in the office, including Daemon and Grandfather. The vampire looked tense, ready to defend himself from Marco's stare. My Gamma looked at Daemon sternly.“What do you know about the half-breed clan?” asked Marco, and we all looked at Daemon.Selene raised her eyebrows and then frowned.“It's a clan of wolves that got involved with dark wizards that were part of our community,” Daemon said matter-of-factly, and this time I was surprised. "I thought everyone knew about the existence of the clans. After all, whole packs from the South ravaged and took over these people's lands."“That's impossible,” Maurice, Selene, and Solange said at the same time.“That was real,” Daemon said and folded his arms. "It's one of the reasons we didn't see eye to eye with you and why the war came about. Many Puritans didn't accept wolves mixing with warlocks because they became stronger and posed a real danger to the race. So when I talk about us not being uniquel

AxelMy pack was hell.Chaos had broken out in Crescent in a way I couldn't control. With the death of more than half the council, I discovered that I had been a bad Alpha. To be more specific: I was a shitty Alpha.I was afraid of discovering the truth that I refused to see, but the absurd reality was that I hadn't realized the mess that was orchestrated behind the scenes, in secret meetings where I wasn't important. Many things never worked out because I didn't know what to do.And that didn't just tell me I should resign and offer my damn head on a silver platter for the people to decide what to do with me; that was a real reality check. I was inept, inefficient, and a fool.My best friends were just as sorry as I was because they didn't see the disaster happening behind our backs either. They didn't even think about it. They blindly trusted the people who offered to guide me after the war. After the silk sickness we opened a floodgate that released a sewer. There was no clearer wa

Izan“What is Alpha Savior doing here?” asked Lena mockingly. “Who are you saving right now?”“Where is your father?” I asked, ignoring her mockery. “I urgently need to speak to him.”“My father doesn't follow your orders, and neither do I,” Lena said firmly. “And if you want to keep the peace—”“You are going to shut up and not finish that dirty sentence,” Ada said, and Lena, looking at the gnome, was surprised. “Call your father; dark vampires who crossed his lands and entered the warm forest burned several acres, so we need to talk.”“I'll go right away,” said one of the wolves who were with Lena. The young man ran and shifted into his beast form with ease, then ran faster, and I saw the exact moment when Lena's expression went from fear to calm. I sniffed sharply and knew she was hiding something.“It's impossible that—”“We followed the trail,” said Maurice. “It's easy to notice; it must be under their noses right now.”The wolves sniffed and nodded.“We'll take care of that,” Le

IzanCaring for Selene was vital to me.Knowing what she felt was imperative in order to give her what she needed, yet for the first time in a long time, her needs actually clashed with my fears. And while I understood that what she needed stemmed from fear, I felt pressured by the circumstances. You have to be mature in this situation; you have to think about her, Sirhan said.We are mature.Yes, but right now she is a hormone bomb, which makes her more sensitive. She's panicking about the baby, and she's afraid of losing you; that idea terrifies her so much. That's why she's exploded. Look at the situation from her shoes; you have become a pillar for her, a base she can hold on to. They've had a hard time with that; for the first time, let yourself go, Sirhan said gruffly. My beast was usually right.Or well, most of the time, not to say he was always right. The situation was complicated, but the truth was that I was afraid to get my hopes up.Getting my hopes up meant further stoki

Clare“Are you sure you really want to do something like that, Clare?”My aunt's question didn't surprise me.In fact, it was something I had already expected. While my Aunt Delia's questioning happened to be logical and very valid, my situation was not the best.I had made a deal with Greco to give my clan a chance; I took the options he gave me and chose the one I considered most necessary to satisfy the thirst for revenge I had against the Dubois. But my plan went down the drain, and somehow or other I had to fulfill the pact I had with Greco. That made me submit to his every request.Like unleashing a damn parasite that would wipe out livestock and crops. It was something I had no trouble doing, especially after Axel's grandfather burned all the land my clan once owned. It was a form of burlesque revenge that gave me a great deal of satisfaction.Releasing the parasite just before the wedding was part of my control plan, as the idea was to become some sort of savior for the Cresce
