Jin’s POV

Two months. Two months have passed since the last time I saw Emily.

“Is there something on your mind, Oppa?” Yuna asks, leaning closer so no one else can hear our conversation.

The smell of her perfume makes me want to gag, but I have to control myself.

“Just work,” I replied dryly, keeping my face neutral. “It’s late; I should take you home.”

Yuna quirks an eyebrow, but doesn’t say anything. She follows me outside into the car. David glances at me, I give him a nod, and he knows what to do.

“Are all our dates going to be like this, Jin?” Yuna asks with a heavy sigh. David instantly put up the divider so our conversation could be private.

I kept my gaze fixed on the city lights blurring past the tinted window. Two months. Sixty days of this charade. Sixty days of dinners that tasted like ash, conversations that were nothing more than verbal ch

  • My mysterious billionaire    Chapter 46: Hawaii

Emily’s POVWhy the hell not?You only live once, and even if both of them are playing with me, I might as well enjoy it while it lasts. At least now I would have a fun story to tell my kids or grandkids—if I even have them."Change the scenery to where?" I asked. “You know I have a job, I can’t miss Monday.”A slow, triumphant smile spread across his face. "Don’t worry, my beautiful fox.” I rolled my eyes at the cheesy nickname. “I have a private jet.”I rolled my eyes.Of course he did.“Then lead the way, Ilay,” I said, sliding inside his car."To the airport," he told the driver. The city melted away. We arrived at the airport pretty quickly. I didn’t expect Ilay to have everything ready; it took us less than ten minutes to be inside his private jet.“What if I had said no?” I asked him, settling into a

  • My mysterious billionaire    Chapter 45: Change of Scenery

Emily’s POV“Emilia Carter! There is another delivery for you,” Ben announced for the third time in the day. “Please pick it up.”I groaned, burying my face in my hands. I was sure it was another bouquet of flowers, or perhaps a dessert. The office had become a revolving door of Jin’s silent, extravagant apologies. The first had been a stunning orchid, the card bearing only a single, stark question mark. The second was a box of impossibly expensive chocolates from a boutique I’d once mentioned in passing, the card blank this time.He was respecting my request for space, but he was also making his presence—and his regret—impossible to ignore.“Fine,” I muttered, pushing back from my desk. I could feel my colleagues' eyes on me as I walked to the reception area. Sarah glared at me as I passed. I’m sure she hadn’t forgotten what I said to her.Served her rig

  • My mysterious billionaire    Chapter 44: Trapped Between Two Titans

Emily’s POVThis is not how I expected my evening to go.Sitting in a restaurant with Jin and Ilay was a special kind of surreal torture. We were at a secluded corner table, the air thick enough to be carved with a knife. Ilay looked amused, swirling his wine with a faint, predatory smile. Jin looked like he was presiding over his own execution, his jaw clenched so tight I feared for his molars. It had happened in a blur after Jin’s knock on the window. Ilay, to my astonishment, had simply chuckled and rolled the window down.“Baek,” Ilay had said, his tone dripping with false bonhomie. “To what do we owe the pleasure?”Jin’s gaze had sliced past him, landing directly on me. “Get out of the car, Emily.”“I don’t think so,” I’d retorted, my voice shaky.“Then I’ll get in.” And before I could protest, he’d opened the do

  • My mysterious billionaire    Chapter 43: She Always Looked Beautiful

Emily’s POVA week had passed. A week of silence that was anything but quiet.I wanted to throw the roses away, but that wouldn’t have been fair to them, so I kept them inside my apartment, displayed on my kitchen table.I am eating while I sit on my sofa because of how big the bouquet is. I can’t believe Jin spent his money on something so big.He has been inside my apartment; he knows I don’t have the space for something like that! Besides, what was the need?A message would have sufficed."Is he still out there?" Chloe's voice cut through the tense silence. She was perched on my sofa, a pint of ice cream in her hand that she'd brought as both a peace offering and a tactical resource.I didn't need to ask who "he" was. With a sigh that came from the depths of my soul, I moved the curtain aside just enough to peek down at the street below.Parked directly across from my building, sleek and ominous as a panther

  • My mysterious billionaire    Chapter 42: I Remember

Emily’s POVJin stood there, silhouetted in my dim hallway light. He looked nothing like the composed CEO I remembered. His tie was loosened, his hair was disheveled as if he’d been running his hands through it relentlessly, and his eyes… his eyes were a wild, stormy blue, burning with a raw, unchecked intensity I had never seen before. He smelled of night air and expensive whiskey. Before I could gasp, before I could form a single syllable of question or protest, he moved. In one fluid, decisive motion, he stepped across my threshold, his warm, strong arms wrapping around me, pulling me flush against the solid wall of his chest. The door clicked shut behind him, sealed by his weight. My world tilted."Jin—!" I managed, but his name was swallowed as his mouth crashed down on mine. This was nothing like Ilay's gentle, perfect kiss. This was not a question or a pleasantry. This was a claim. One

  • My mysterious billionaire    Chapter 41: Unexpected Guest

Emily’s POVWhy do I feel so confused? The question echoed in the silence Ilay left behind, with no answer forthcoming. My fingers rose to my lips again, as if they could decipher the truth my heart couldn't. The kiss had been... pleasant. Exciting, even. A masterclass in confident seduction. Ilay was everything Jin was not: straightforward, uncomplicated, and gloriously free of tortured family dynasties. So why did my stomach clench with a vague sense of unease instead of soaring with liberation?Because it was a reaction. A defiant, knee-jerk reaction to the soul-crushing pain Jin had inflicted. Kissing Ilay was like slapping a brightly colored bandage on a gaping wound. It looked bold and brave, but did nothing to stop the bleeding underneath.I had wanted to feel powerful. In control. And for a moment, wrapped in Ilay's arms, I had. I had felt desired and dangerous, a woman who could make a billionaire rival kneel with a
