Prologue

Zhenya

I am so glad that my dream came true and I entered the faculty of foreign languages. Passed a furious competition, and was proud to get a budget place. I remember my mother always said that teaching is light, not teaching is dark. In my twenty years, I've learned to believe only in myself. In our hometown, I won almost all the Olympics. I wish the parents proud of me . After all, they died when I was only ten years old, and aunt rose brought me up strictly and did not allow me to relax. As I gather my things, hear her anxious voice.

" Zhenya! Where are you going? Those rich people are in Moscow, you know what they have in mind?"

" Aunt rose, I've been dreaming of becoming a translator for five years and going to Paris! I'll find a Prince there and buy all Edith Piaf's CDs!" I look in the mirror and meet a girl with light, unruly curls, which I like to straighten constantly. But it doesn't matter, the main thing is learning, and achieving new goals!

"It's no use! You look like my little sister. All she did was read her novels! Don't fall in love! Zhenya, I'm begging you! Please "

" Aunt, do you want me to stay at home?" I sit down on the sofa with her and we say goodbye, as if we will never see each other again.

" No, I remember all your poems, how you wrote out every word in the hope of becoming French! And your mother and I boasted that Eugenia will grow up and conquer all of France, it's a pity that they drowned in that lake!" She cried, this was the worst tragedy for our family, but despite this we were not discouraged.

She did not have children herself, she wanted to take a child from an orphanage, but unfortunately, she did not have the courage.

" It's time! Train in an hour. Will you walk me to the train station?" I look at my aunt, who I will miss.

"You know how sentimental I am! You better call me when you get there! Zhenya, where will you live? Mother of God, I didn't think of that!" My aunt used to say things like that just to make me laugh."

" All nonresidents are provided with a hostel! Okay, I'm running. I love you!"

I was such a naive fool when I left my native Nizhnevartovsk, I didn't know that Moscow is so cruel, and people betray each other. It would have been better if I had never boarded this train and my papers had not been accepted, then perhaps I would not have met him, a man worse than the most terrible Devil...
