Chapter Sixty six

As soon as Leon and Gabriella were done talking, they both went inside the house and found Pavel seated in the floor with his head on his mother's laps. Gabriella was a little flustered. She was never used to seeing Pavel so vulnerable and child-like. The woman stopped talking and caressing her son's head when she saw Gabriella. Pavel stood up too. 

"Mum...She is the woman I was talking about." Pavel told his mother. Gabriella stepped forward as Pavel's mother stood up from her seat. Gabriella was going to shake her hand but she received a hug instead.

"Thank you." The woman whispered into Gabriella's ear. 

"For what?"Gabriella could not help but ask. Pavel's mother chortled merrily and cradled her face. 

"Without you, my son would not have come home." She said happily. "How long are you staying?"

Gabriella was reluctant prompting Pavel to answer on her behalf. "We will be here for a week."
