Don't Let Them Kill My Baby

It's been seven years since the incident of Prince Ares disappearance and the rogues were still in full force, destroying and killing the people of the Blazing Moon Pack.

Sounds of heavy footsteps can be heard faintly as two people were running and panting. They wanted to escape the group of rogues pursuing them. The man held his pregnant wife tightly as they continued to run away from the rogues heading their way. He was very anxious.

He can't afford to lose his wife and pup. The moon goddess had finally blessed them after much prayer.

"Hold on, Laila. We are getting close to the Pack"

"Alvin, I think the baby wants to come out" the woman said as she winced in pain.

"Hold on, please. We are almost getting close to the Salutary"

The couple continued running for sometime before losing sight of the rogues. The pain became unbearable for the woman and she suddenly slumped to the ground. The man looked at his wife writhing in pain, helplessly.

Looking around, he saw a cave covered with foliage. He decided to keep his wife there while he ran for help.

"Laila, stay here. I will run to the pack house and bring the midwife here. Please hold on…wait for me"

The woman barely nodded due to the pain. She watched as her husband changed into his wolf and ran into the thick forest. Feeling weak, she fainted.

The group of rogues saw the cave where the woman was lying unconscious. With their sense of smell, they perceived the woman's unique smell. They were hungry for blood and fortunately they have been blessed with a pregnant woman. And her smell was so delicious and alluring.

They will rip the baby out before killing them both. They smirked evilly as they made their way towards the cave.

As they drew closer to the entrance of the cave, there was a blinding light coming from it and a voice that shook the heart of the rogues.

"You filthy mortals! How dare you!"

The men froze in shock as their legs began to wobble. When they finally regained their senses, they started running without caring to know who the person was. The overwhelming dreadful aura wasn't something an ordinary werewolf could have.

They didn't want to die so they began to flee. They hadn't taken two steps when fire consumed their bodies burning them to ashes.

The woman who just regained her consciousness started having contractions. Her voice was laced in unbearable pain as the baby was making its way out and she was bleeding.

Laila tried to open her eyes when she felt someone coming into the barely enclosed cave. She caught a glimpse of a woman whose eyes were as white as snow and her hair which wore a crown of moon fell all over her face down to her waist. When she smiles, it gives Laila peace.

"Who…who…are…you?"

"Don't you know who I am?" She chuckled lightly, her eyes filled with love.

"Moon…goddess!"

"My name is Selena. You have been given a gift to cherish just for a little while. She is the precious daughter of the Mystic god. Take care of her"

"Daughter… of the… gods?" Laila managed to ask, staring at the moon goddess.

"I am here to make sure the Princess comes to the world safely" The woman said as she helped Laila deliver her baby.

Laila screamed and clawed at the rocks on the ground, holding back the pains of labor. She thought she was going to die. It was unbearable yet she was determined to bring her child to life.

After a little while, the baby came into the world and Laila held her in her arms, feeling weak. But then, there was a piercing cry from the baby. The thunder struck as lightning flashed around. The trees swayed to the power of the voice. And the sonorous yet deafening sound of the whirlwind threatened to pull down the place.

There was yet another clasping and deafening sound of thunder that seemed to be directed at the baby. Laila tried to open her eyes and what she saw made her freeze in shock.

The lightning was but a inch away from the baby in her arms before it stopped. She was surprised Selena was doing nothing to prevent it. And just like that, a little cackle from the minute old baby made the lightning disappear.

Laila couldn't take it anymore and she fell unconscious. Once again, the immortals knew something was happening in the mortal world.

Not long after Selena left, there were hurried footsteps as Alvin and the midwife rushed into the hut where Laila lay with a baby in her hands. She was still unconscious but fortunately for them, the baby was alive.

The midwife quickly rushed over to check the mother and child. She was relieved when she saw that Laila was still alive and there were no complications.

"It's strange, Alvin. It doesn't look like she delivered the baby herself. Who could have helped her?"

"I left her all alone and there are no signs of Intruders here. I can't smell any familiar or intrusive scents around. And I know the rogues chasing after us would rather have her and my child as dinner "

"It's strange…very strange, boy" the midwife replied deeply.

A piercing cry rang out from the baby. The midwife drew closer to carry her. With the baby in her arms, she stared at the hair of white on her head. It almost feels like the head was covered in snow. The baby's skin was so white and supple. She was emitting a strange aura that she had never felt from any werewolf pups.

As the midwife was looking at the baby, her eyes suddenly opened. There was a shrill cry from the midwife. If not for the timely intervention of Alvin, the child would have been thrown to the ground.

"Demon!!! What kind of child is this?" The midwife screamed moving away from the baby.

Alvin looked at the baby he just caught from falling and his heart skipped a bit. Those eyes…no one ever had those kinds of eyes. And the hair, it was strangely white.

He was filled with fear but then the child smiled at him. It was a smile that calmed his mind. He was filled with indescribable joy as he held the baby tightly. He doesn't care about whatever anyone thinks.

"She is my child. She is not a demon" Alvin said fiercely.

"Throw that thing away! It can't stay in the pack! It's a bad omen!"

"But she is my child! She knows nothing" Alvin pleaded.

"She is no child! She is a demon! Look at those eyes!"

The midwife screamed as she ran out of the hut. Alvin stared at the woman's fleeing back. He can't throw his child away. The goddess had finally blessed him with a child after so many years. He will never let go of this child.

Alvin walked closer to his wife who was still sleeping soundly. He stared at his baby that was looking at him with those deep bluish molten lava eyes.

After a few minutes, Laila slowly opened her eyes and saw her husband holding a baby. She tried to stand up but Alvin stopped her.

"You are still weak. Rest a little before we go back to the Pack"

Laila spoke up as she looked at the baby. "I saw her…she helped me deliver the baby. She called the baby the precious daughter of the gods, Alvin"

"What are you saying, Laila?"

"The moon goddess asked us to take care of her. Please don't let the villagers kill her"

"I will never let them…I promise Laila"

Alvin looked at the baby again. Was she really the daughter of the gods?
