He Needs To Meet The Seer

It's been three months in the mortal world since the storm and the whole pack was getting ready for the annual mating celebration. Though this year, the Alpha's sons were still small.

The oldest was around four and the youngest was just two. There was another reason for their celebration.

The villagers all thought that the celebration wouldn't hold because of the Alpha's eldest son. Their Alpha's four year old son went missing three months ago amidst the horrifying weather of that day.

They had prayed to the gods to spare his life. They offered sacrifices to the Moon goddess amidst the storm.

Fortunately, it seems the Moon goddess answered the prayers of the pack as the child was found three days after the storm.

But he keeps having nightmares. His condition was severe. It looks like he encountered something during the days he went missing.

He always murmurs something no one understands. They thought he must be delusional due to the sufferings he endured.

It took the help of the Salutary of the Pack, Elder Augur, to help the young prince recover. And the nightmares stopped.

He was better after two months but he never let go of the blue glowing pendant on his neck.

No one could tell what the glowing object was but the prince claws at anyone who touches it. He doesn't even allow his father, Alpha Demetri close to it. He was a vicious little pup whenever they wanted his precious pendant.

Then one night, the nightmares began again. There was a loud sound of thunder clashing as the little boy woke up with sweat all over his body and his breath became unsteady.

A woman rushed into his room and embraced him tightly. Elder Augur looked at the little boy who was holding tightly to the pendant in his hands.

"The alpha needs to meet the Seer" Elder Augur mumbled to himself.

This wasn't the case of healing anymore.

Three days after the mating ceremony, Alpha Demetri and his Beta decided to travel all the way to the sacred hilltop to see the powerful Seer amongst the lands of werewolves. The man was old yet agile. He had been living on this hilltop for many decades now, at least two centuries.

His pack members dare not come an inch close to this hill because it was believed the Seer drinks fresh blood to renew his immortality. Though it was a rumor, they still kept away from him. He was only seen when summoned by the alpha on special occasions.

Since Alpha Demetri didn't want to scare the villagers or bring rumors about his son's mental health, he decided to go there alone with his Beta.

But as soon as they stepped their foot on the pavement that leads to the Seer's hut, a voice stopped them in their tracks.

"To what do I owe this August visit? I can see that something must be chasing the frog hence it is seen jumping in broad daylight" The Great Seer cackled.

"Indeed…your wisdom is highly undisputed. The frog has indeed been chased by forces he has no control over" Alpha Demetri replied.

"Don't be worried about your son. He will be alright. He just met with his fate" The Great Seer said.

"What about the pendant? He clutches it like his life depends on it" Alpha Demetri pointed out, knitting his brows.

"Indeed his life and fate depends on it. He should never lose it" the Great Seer replied, chuckling.

"Great one, if he is fine, why is he delusional?" The Beta asked the old man.

"Delusional? Who told you he is delusional, Beta? Like I said, leave him alone. He will snap out of it. The crown prince has written his own fate" The Great Seer answered.

"What is his fate?" Alpha Demetri asked.

"Don't ask me because I don't even know the ways of the gods. They are strange" The Great Seer replied, shaking his head.

"Will it have any effect on my Pack and my son?" Alpha Demetri asked again.

The Great Seer looked up in uncertainty,"The ways of the gods cannot be questioned. Even the Moon goddess has no say in the matter of fate"

Then he added as he waved his hands. "There is one thing you should be wary of. The goddess might visit to reclaim what belongs to her"

Just as Alpha Demetri wanted to ask him more questions, they found themselves at the palace mansion. He looked at his Beta's face who was looking confused but then he saw the familiar building.

Alpha Demetri walked closer to him with a smile when he saw his Beta was brimming in anger.

"You are supposed to get used to his ways, Adeline," Alpha Demetri said, patting his Beta.

"I swear, I am gonna be the one to kill that old fart one day" his Beta cursed.

"I wonder how you are going to kill a five century old man. I don't even know his real identity. I am really curious, Adeline" Alpha Demetri said as he enjoyed his temper.

Beta Adeline just looked at the alpha and shrugged at his sarcastic remarks. He knew he would likely kill that man one day.

How can he just dismiss an alpha and Beta of one of the strongest packs?

As Beta Adeline was in deep thought, Alpha Demetri's mind drifted to the words of the Seer.

"Do you think he will be okay, Adenile?" He asked his Beta as they walked towards the young Prince's room.

"So far, the Seer's word has never failed. Though I hate him, I believe he is telling the truth. Prince Ares would be fine" Beta Adeline assured his Alpha with a smile.

"Did you remember the Seer's last words? Will the Moon goddess really visit us? But why?"

Beta Adeline creased his forehead in thought before replying." He never said the Moon goddess. There are several goddesses, Your Majesty"

"That's true…I hope everything goes well"

He walked towards where his son was resting peacefully clutching the pendant tightly, as usual. The pendant was a glowing shade of blue with tinted molten lava colors. It looked so magical and full of mysteries.

Where did his son wander off that fateful day? How could he survive that tempest that destroyed many of the neighboring packs? Even his own pack was nearly destroyed.

Alpha Demetri knew his son couldn't answer any of those questions because he was too young. He could barely speak. He just hoped all the memories would be gone from him soonest.

He hates to watch his son waking up everyday from nightmares only he knew of. He was too young to talk about whatever he saw coherently.

When he saw that the prince was fast asleep, he signaled to his Beta and they left the room quietly.

The alpha went straight to where his Pack warriors were resting. The festivities are over, now it's time for work.

He called out his sentinels for orders. He ordered for all round checks on borders and patrols. The rogues were causing too many casualties for years now. He was looking for the best strategy to kill them all.

They have to safeguard their pack from any invasion. He wasn't afraid of war because he knew that was the way Alphas protect their Pack but he wants to be sure of his son's mental state before he goes into any battles.

His mind wandered off to his mate, Prince Ares mother, who was killed by rogues on her way to the Pack's stream.

She had gone over there with just her two maids unknown to him. The rogues took them unaware and overpowered them.

It had been a terrifying and agonizing experience for him. A wolf without his mate has to suffer unbearable pain every time. He was confused and depressed. His pack was suffering because of the absence of a Luna and his unstable state of mind.

After two years, he was healed by the Great seer and forced to get another mating wolf so as to take care of his son and also take up the responsibility of Lunas.

Fortunately, he was blessed by the Moon goddess with another pup, a male pup.

Alpha Demetri hopes his son's fate would not be fatal. He was the only thing left of his mate.

His Beta rushed in panting heavily. One look at Adeline, he knew things weren't right. He must have brought bad news.

"Alpha, the rogues are attacking us again"

Alpha Demetri quickly left with his pack to protect the boundary and his people from those rotten rogues.
