CHAPTER 60

"You're awake."

The baritone voice came back as Tessa's footsteps came out of her room. Tessa thought Axel had gone to work, but he was still at the dining table with his little daughter.

"Hmm." Tessa just mumbled that she didn't know what to do. Because it felt, well, too foreign.

"Sit down, let's eat together." Axel stood up from his seat and pulled out a chair for Tessa to sit on.

Tessa was silent as Axel returned the sweet gesture that made her feel Dejavu. Instead of sitting in the chair Axel had prepared, Tessa chose to pull out a new chair for herself. This meant that she wanted to show Axel she would no longer follow his requests.

Axel was silent when he saw Tessa sitting in another chair. Meanwhile, he had high hopes before. But Axel covered his disappointment with a big smile as he walked to the pantry picked up a glass of chocolate milk and poured it into a glass cup.
