Thoughts

Cheyenne opened her eyes looking across at the empty bed. She wondered how Nick was taking this morning. He had left sometime during the night while she slept and she was honestly surprised he had not left earlier. Not that she minded cuddling up next to him. Sleeping in his arms has felt peaceful.

Time had stopped for them last night and now in the light of day, it almost seemed as if it had all been a dream. Rolling over grabbing her phone Cheyenne was surprised to see that Nick had messaged her around 2 am. Opening the message she read, “just for the record I’m not running I’m going home.”

Cheyenne smiled replying, “whatever you could have said bye.”

Before she was able to set her phone down he responded, “how do you know I didn’t. Besides that whole text was a goodbye.”
