Everyone walked in solemn silence towards the operation theatre after Chris’s heart to heart. No one voiced any objections as they knew that Chris’s analysis was spot on.

“Any update?” Eric asked Mark as he walked towards him.

“Still going.” Mark shook his head; he waited till Eric got close and asked in a whisper, “What happened?”

“Everything’s a mess.” Eric sighed in frustration as he sat next to Diana, hugging her in his embrace; he needed to calm his depressed heart. If roles were reversed, he knew Chris would hold the skies for him even though he was his younger brother. However, he had to confess that he didn’t have absolute confidence to refute any of Chris’s claims and could only listen to his arrangements with a heavy heart.

Mark felt his heart grow heavy as he noted that Chris nor Eric had any intention to explain. He knew this was not the time and place and yet he felt terrible. He too sighed as he thought of the imminent estrangement between brothers!
