The Burkes was established by her great grandfather and both he and her grandfather were the only child. The children from Emile’s generation were called out in the order of their birth.

The Burkes only had male descendants tracing back a few generations; this trend was first broken by her aunt. Her grandfather had only one daughter, Auntie Pearl, Addison's mom. She was the first girl to be born in the Burke household in many generations and was naturally spoilt rotten by everyone.

Her father’s elder brother Matthias Burke married Agatha from the Wells family, and they had two children, first brother Henry and third brother Harry. Second uncle, Anderson married Rosemary from the Platt family and had three children, second brother Derek, fourth brother Simon and sixth brother Timothy.
