While wandering around this mysterious and altered version of the place, it occurs to me: if Gabriela's engagement were still on, the fireworks would have lit the clear sky so that night could easily be mistaken for day and all the citizens would have come out to the street, every one of them eager to see their new princess for the first time.

"It is not wise to walk there under pretenses. Better to be direct with our purpose and try to contain the damage as soon as possible" Travis said.

And so it was decided that one of the carrier birds traveling with us would be sent with a message to cancel all the wedding-related festivities and that we would explain when we would arrive.

"Basically, we already told you that the wedding is canceled, so why don't we go home? It just seems cruel to make them still go there and explain why it's canceled" Diego said.

"We're not trying to be cruel, but just like Travis and I will eventually have to absorb it and tell my
