Her muffled sob echoed throughout the large cabin. She looked outside the glass window that covered one side of the building. It was dark and the sky wasn’t that clear. More tears rushed down her cheeks as her eyes accidentally fell on the clock.

It was 11 PM and she didn’t know how she was going to get home. There were definitely people in the hospital as so many people needed care and duty doctors for emergencies but her shift was over hours ago. She wasn’t going to find a bus home as she lived far from her workplace.

She looked down at the pile of papers in front of her. It was less compared to what she saw a few hours ago but still more. Sighing in defeat, she kept on arranging them.

She told herself not to look at the clock but she was a human after all. She would steal occasional glances at the clock. She just wanted to go home but couldn't.

Putting the last set of reports in the file, she smiled at her work in content. It had been so long that she actually looked up at the clock. In the heat of finishing the task, she forgot to even look at the clock.

She put the file aside and got up on her feet. Sure her legs were numb because of kneeling down for so long but she was happy that all of it was over. She stumbled a bit as her legs were numb but quickly recovered.

She picked up the files and placed them back on the table. A small smile spread across her face as she notices all of her efforts.

She looked up at the clock and that is when her face paled. It was 12:40, the next morning.

She panicked and picked up her Id and ran out to the locker room, not forgetting to lock his cabin, as he sent the keys to it through one of the hospital staff.

She ran to the guy he had asked her to give the keys to and made a run to the locker room. She pulled out her bag and decided against changing clothes. She ran out to the building in the hope to find a cab at least.

Her living far away was never so much of a disadvantage. She looked around but the streets were empty with a few personal cars.

Buses were already not an option as the last but were at nine-thirty. She looked around for taxis but found none.

Then all of a sudden it hit her, she could call for a cab. She stuffed her hands in her pocket to pull out her cell. Her eyes widened in horror when she didn't find it there.

She walked to the nearby bench and sat down and looked through her bag and all of her pockets. She panicked when she didn’t find it anywhere.

She sat down and tried to calm herself. She tried remembering where she used it last. She soon realized she has left her phone in Dimitri’s office.

She ran back to the hospital and asked the security guard where the guy was to whom she handed the keys. She was left disappointed when he told her that the guy took off a few minutes ago in his car.

She shrugged her shoulders and began walking. She felt so helpless and stranded.

As she walked down the street, tiny drops of water hit her face. She looked up to see the sky was cloudy and droplets of water became larger and poured down quicker.

“You’ve got to be kidding me!” She said in annoyance as she was soon drenched under the heavy downfall of the rain.

She still kept walking. Nobody could have noticed the tears on her cheeks under the rainy weather. She didn’t have an umbrella and that was the last straw for her shit day.

Not able to walk anymore, she stopped and stood by the sidewalk with her head hung down.

She fisted her palms and dug her nails into her skin till blood rushed out. She didn’t mind hurting herself as this was not the first time she had done that.

She just stood there by the empty roads and closed shops doing nothing.

It was raining heavily and a few strands of her brown hair were stuck to her face. She didn’t bother to push them away.

Her body was still and her mind, numb.

She just blanked out.

Her eyes drooped and her stomach grumbled due to lack of food. She skipped her breakfast as she was late and had half a sandwich for lunch. She was hungry but right now, she was in the middle of nowhere.

She felt a wave of dizziness hit her but she pretended like that didn’t happen.

She was looking down constantly blinking her eyelashes to prevent the water from going into her eyes. She was so blank and lost that she didn’t hear the sound of the black car honking that made its way toward her.

She had her eyes downcast and didn’t even see the car pull up next to her.

The owner of the car rolled the passenger side window down and looked at her. She wasn’t aware of her surroundings and especially not him.

“Ayra, get in the car!” He spoke loudly as the sound of water hitting the ground was louder.

“Ayra!” He called out again louder but she was too preoccupied to hear him.

Frustrated, he rolled his eyes and banged his fist on the horn.

She flinched and looked up when she heard the loud sound right next to her.

She looked towards the man who was sitting inside the car and was looking at her murderously.

“Get it NOW!” He yelled. Ayra took a second or two to register what he said and what it meant.

“No! I’m fine!” She bit back.

“Ayra stop playing childish games and get the fuck in. You are shivering and drenched!” He yelled back, not taking any of her words.

“No. I don’t like to go with my boss. Anywhere!” She said, startling Dimitri.

Dimitri was heading home from the hospital after looking at an emergency case when he noticed Ayra standing still by the sidewalk with her head hung down and shivering uncontrollably.

At first, he couldn’t believe it was Ayra but when he drove closer, her face became obvious. He was a bit furious to see what she was doing here but then later the realization took upon him that it was himself who made her arrange all of those files.

Cursing himself, he drove to her, unable to look at her like that.

“Just get in the car damn it!” He shouted. Ayra paid no heed to him and crossed her arms against her chest and looked away.

No matter how much she was cold or dying, she would never take his help. She had made up her mind to keep their relationship strictly professional and what she did outside the hospital in her spare time should have nothing to do with him.

He gritted his teeth and pulled the handle of the car open and walked out. His light pink shirt was drenched in rain and stuck to his firm chest, revealing his taut abs and broad shoulders.

“Get in the car!” He said as he pulled the door open for her. She just ignored him like before.

He ran his fingers through his wet hair and pulled her harshly by her arm and pushed her inside the car without letting her even adapt to the situation. He closed the door shut with a loud bang and moved to his side and drove before she could get out.

Ayra was too startled to react as to what happened in a few seconds.

“Stop the car!” She said as she looked at him as she analyzed what happened. The leather seats of his car became wet because she was soaked, but he didn't mind that.

“I said Stop the car!” She yelled and kicked her leg in anger. He turned the AC to heat mode and ignored Ayra.

“Okay!” She said and turned to face the window on her side and crossed her arms against her chest. She decided to stay calm till he came to a halt and immediately run when he stops.

And that’s exactly what happened when he slowed down the car a bit, She pulled the handle of the door open, and as soon as Dimitri saw her doing that he lunged at the door and closed it shut locking it up before she could do anything stupid.

“Are you trying to kill yourself? What is wrong with you!” He yelled, breathing heavily as he pulled the car to the side and looked at her.

“I…” Her face had paled and she was on the verge of breaking down.

“You look absolutely stunning.” Sofia looked up at her soon-to-be daughter-in-law.“Thank you.” She blushed profusely.“Now, turn around, I’ll put the veil on,” Sofia said and Ayra just nodded as she turned around and bent down so Sofia could hook the veil in her hair.“Done.” She said and Ayra got up to her feet. She walked towards the mirror and looked at her reflection. The makeup artist had done a beautiful job. She had to admit that she looked pretty herself. Her mermaid-style dress hugged her body like a second skin. It was silk and had a deep neck with tiny pears that ran over all the ends of the dress and plain train. Her tiny bump was evident only if you look at her from the side. After all, it was just 14 weeks.“I’m glad my son found you,” Sofia said with a wide smile. Ayra turned towards her and breathed out in nervousness.“You’ll be fine,” Sofia

“Ayra look at me!” He said impatiently, cupping her face. She was shutting her eyes.“Please.” A tear rolled down his left eye.Dimitri was confused. He was panicking and for once the calculative Dimitri, didn’t know what to do. She was unable to maintain her footing. Her hands dropped and fear rushed his heart. He quickly bent down and carried her in his arms. She was fighting hard to keep her eyes open. Dimitri ran out to his car and settled her down on the passenger’s seat and buckled her belt.“Stay strong for me.” He whispered as closed the door and ran over to the other side. He got in himself and the engine of the car roared to life. He drove his car as fast as he could. With his free hand, he took her left hand and pecked it. He constantly k

“Ayra, listen to me, he manipulated you. Baby, I love you. I can never hurt you. Why would I?” Rose tried convincing Ayra.“Cut the shit, Rose. What do you take me for? A fool? Just because I acted like one doesn’t mean I am one.” Ayra said in a bored tone.“Where did you learn such heinous words?” Rose asked completely flabbergasted.“Again, I’m not a fool. I guess both of us live in the very same world. And just because you’ve never heard me curse doesn’t mean I have never heard those words.” She chuckled.Harry and Rose looked at each other before looking at Ayra. They didn’t know what had happened and in a matter of a few hours, the tables had turned. Both of them sat in the darkroom tied to a chair at Ayra’s gunpoint. They didn’t know how she had managed to pull something off like this. They were still trying to figure it out and worse yet, still tr
