If anyone saw me right now, they’d probably

mistake me for a total lunatic. I was pacing my room, tugging at my curls like a madwoman. They probably looked like a bird’s nest by now, but that was the least of my worries. At the top of my list: How the hell was Aiden going to look at me now?

I’d spent the last ten minutes thinking through every possible scenario and finally landed on one conclusion — it didn’t matter how he got my contact. Arnold could’ve given it to him for all I knew. What did matter was coming up with a solid excuse for why I’d been staring. Unfortunately, my brain decided now was the perfect time to play hide and seek.

"Think, Nova! This isn’t the time to go blank!" I muttered, flopping onto my bed.

I picked up my phone and stared at his message again. That smirking emoji? Pure Aiden. I didn’t know anyone else smug enough to use it so confidently. My fingers hovered over the screen before I gave up and just sent a string of question marks. Playing dumb seeme

  • Nightmare turned love    Excitement

Nova’s POVThat night was, if I dare say, one of the best I’ve had in forever. Just lying there with Aiden, all cuddled under the sheets, made me happier than I could even admit.Since Eli wasn’t blowing up my phone either, I figured his night had gone just as well as mine, and that was enough to keep my hyper mood buzzing into the morning.School was resuming in just a few days, and I knew we’d be thrown back into all that chaos again. But this time, I wasn’t dreading it. In fact, I was actually looking forward to it. My original plan of keeping my head down and just surviving until graduation was long gone, abandoned like a half-finished diet schedule. Now? I was more than ready to stir some chaos of my own and actually enjoy my school life to the fullest. With Aiden, Eli, and even Jace by my side, I knew I could count on that.Me and Aiden stood by the car, waiting for our new couple, who were taking forever to come downstairs.“You don’t think they got lost, do you?” I asked, squi

  • Nightmare turned love    Without a doubt

Nova’s POVAs Aiden and I strolled away from the beautifully set picnic, leaving my brother and Eli behind, I was already grinning, fully aware of what was bound to happen while we were gone.“It was a lot easier to get out of there than I expected,” Aiden said as he slowly slipped his hand into mine.“I guess Eli’s constant delusion finally paid off this time,” I replied with a smile. “But for real though, why is everywhere suddenly so empty?” I glanced around curiously. “Does such a fancy hotel even have a closing time?”“It’s not closed, Nova.” His grin was the kind that screamed I’m up to something. My eyes narrowed. “Then what?”“Well, I pulled a few tiny strings to give us all some well-deserved privacy.”I stopped in my tracks, eyes widening. “You reserved the whole hotel?” I whisper-yelled. “That’s not the definition of privacy, Cross!” I swatted his hand softly. “You probably just inconvenienced a lot of people!” My pout deepened as he chuckled, like this was all some joke.“

  • Nightmare turned love    Certain

Arnold’s POVI couldn’t explain how happy I was seeing Eli satisfied with the plans I’d made. Choosing the hotel wasn’t easy, I wanted a place he’d actually love, and with his personality, yeah, that wasn’t exactly simple. But I went out of my way to make sure it was right for him. After getting the place, Aiden handled most of the work from there. I guess connections pay off at times like this. I just told him what I needed, and he assured me I’d get exactly that. Honestly, I was impressed with the attention to detail. The night lights were the highlight, if you ask me. It was like watching a sunset come alive. We sat on the blanket for close to thirty minutes, my hand in Eli’s while we laughed, joked, and munched on the snacks spread out around us. My palms were getting sweaty from nerves. The time to finally pop the big question was drawing near.I didn’t know exactly why I was scared, after all, Eli had made it clear the other day—but for some reason I still worried. That he might

  • Nightmare turned love    Surprises

Eli’s POVI was weirdly excited about this picnic. We’d never had such a chill hangout, all four of us together, so yeah I had high expectations for fun. And okay… maybe that was mostly because Arnold and I were in the almost-dating phase now. Fine, it was a huge part of it, but hey, I’m not shy to admit it.It hadn’t been easy getting here with him. Deciding he was worth the risk, worth the possible heartbreak, had taken me forever. But once I did… everything else just fell into place.Still, no time for deep thoughts. Nova had told me to “dress nice,” which was hilarious, like I don’t always look like a snack. I finally settled on baggy brown pants, a cropped tee, and a couple of chain accessories. Cute, but not “trying too hard.” Perfect. After styling my hair, I headed out, only to see Arnold’s car waiting.I slid into the passenger seat with a grin. “I’m not sorry for being fashionably late.”He chuckled, starting the car. “And I’m not sorry for not calling you out. I know you ta

  • Nightmare turned love    Tease

Nova’s POVI’m pretty sure when we talked about a picnic, everyone imagined something simple, blanket, food, maybe a speaker if we felt fancy. But somehow, I ended up sitting here, watching Aiden make calls about renting a spot with nightlights. Nightlights. For a picnic. What universe did a normal picnic turn into some rich-people outing?“Okay, I’ll get back to you by tonight,” he said, finally ending the call and turning to face me.I raised a brow. “Now can you at least explain why I just heard words like venue and exclusive setup when all we’re doing is picking a spot for our picnic?”“It’s more than just a picnic, Nova.” He dropped onto the couch, pulled my legs across his lap, and gave me that look. “It’s more than that, love. At least for us. And especially for your brother.”My eyes widened, a grin spreading before I could stop it. I sat up so fast my legs nearly smacked him. “Wait. Wait. He’s finally asking him out?” I squealed, grabbing Aiden’s arm and shaking it lightly. “

  • Nightmare turned love    The moment

Arnold’s POVIf someone asked me to put this feeling into words, I’d probably fail. Words didn’t come close to describing the weight that had finally lifted now that things with Eli were sorted out. My chest felt full, so full it almost hurt. Even Nova and Aiden’s constant interruptions weren’t as irritating as usual.Eli’s head rested in the crook of my neck, his quiet chuckles bubbling up every time Nova teased him. I let myself sink into the moment, memorizing it, wishing I could bottle it up. Perfect. That’s what this was. For once in my life, I didn’t want anything more.Well… almost. I still needed to officially ask him out. But with how much I loved him, it shouldn’t be hard to pull off something that would make his heart flip the way he made mine. I just had to figure it out before the week ended.Because I wanted us to go back to school as boyfriends. As a couple. It was one of those impossible dreams I never thought I’d get, yet here we were—fear set aside, love finally give
