Chapter 13

Boom!

Someone kicked open the door of the operating theatre. Jeanette’s eyes widened, and she immediately turned to look at the door.

Could the person be...

The man rushed in through the door. He was tall and lean, but unfortunately, it was not Damon. It was Elias.

The hope in Jeanette’s eyes dimmed in an instant. “What are you guys doing?” Elias charged forward and punched the man who was about to take off Jeanette’s pants. The man collapsed on the floor.

His beautiful, alluring eyes were filled with anger and rage as he glared at the other two men fiercely. He clenched his fists and beat up the two other men brutally. Every punch he landed was brutal as if he was going to kill them.

Jeanette was finally able to break free and quickly snatched the gauze out of her mouth before she tried to stop Elias.

“Enough, Elias!” Jeanette grabbed him. “Something’s going to happen if you keep going!”

Elias’s alluring eyes were still red. His fingers were wrapped around Jeanette’s arm tightly, and he asked worriedly, “Are you okay? Are you hurt?”

Jeanette shook her head. “I’m fine. Thank goodness you came in time. They haven’t done anything to me.”

Elias nodded, and he was still holding Jeanette nervously with his fingers. The hospital security guards finally arrived after so long.

Elias pointed at the three men who had got beaten up and were on the floor. He said coldly, “These three men pretended to be hospital personnel and tried to assault a hospital patient. Send all of them to the police station and investigate who sent them in!”

Jeanette clenched her fingers slightly because she knew who sent them. It was her mother-in-law who had always disliked her, Sylvia Selman. However, she never expected that Sylvia would do something like that just to get her to divorce.

She was clearly trying to ruin her life...

After everything Jeanette went through earlier, her ankle injury became more serious. There were even finger pad bruises from when someone wrapped their hands around her ankle. It was so painful that she could not walk for a while.

Elias picked her up and carried her as he walked toward his orthopedics clinic.

Jeanette felt self-conscious, so she struggled. “Elias, let me down. I can walk by myself!”

Elias gave her a smile, and his beautiful, alluring eyes had returned to their usual tenderness and affection. “No, I just want to hold you like this.”

Jeanette was a little angry. “Can you not— Ah!” Elias suddenly moved while carrying her before she could finish speaking. Her body suddenly felt like it was in mid-air.

Jeanette screamed in fright as she subconsciously reached out and hugged Elias around his neck to prevent herself from falling.

At the same time, her body shrank into Elias’s arms reflexively. At first glance, they seemed as intimate as a couple in love, but Jeanette was actually angry.

Elias had always been dissolute and used to have flirtatious interactions with beautiful women, but Jeanette was not one of them. Not to mention, she was already married. She was not a single woman who could casually flirt around with other men.

“Elias, let me down! If you keep doing this, I’m going to get angry!”

Elias was still smiling as he looked at Jeanette. When he spoke, he purposely lowered his head to get closer to her. “Oh, Jeanette, you’re still so cute. I feel like kissing you again. What should I do?”

Jeanette stared at him angrily. “Don’t you dare!”

Elias kept getting closer anyway, and by the looks of it, he was actually going to kiss her!

Jeanette moved away, but she was still in Elias’s arms. Even if she moved away, where else could she go?
