Who on earth are these men... that even the law is too terrified to cross them?
If even the police couldn't save me...
Then who could?
"Brother, do you think we should tell our princess who we actually are?" Velarius murmured, staring down at me with a mocking pout on his handsome lips.
"Naa, I think our princess should have the pleasure of finding out all by herself," Vincenzo replied smoothly, the two of them carrying on as if they were just having a casual conversation over coffee.
"Now... call Nina," Velarius commanded, sliding my old phone into my trembling hand.
My eyes went wide. How on earth had they gotten ahold of my phone? I stared at them, frantically shaking my head to let them know I wouldn't do it.
"You better call her right now," Vincenzo growled. This time, every ounce of playfulness vanished from his voice. His eyes turned entirely black, a suffocating darkness settling over his features as I gasped for air. "You don’t know us, princess. We could do anything to you. We could kill you right here in this room and bury your body in the grounds, and absolutely no one would ever find out or dare ask questions."
Tears pricked my eyes. I desperately wanted to live. I couldn't die here—not without ever finding my real birth mother.
With violently shaking hands, I unlocked the screen and dialed Nina’s number.
"It's not even five in the evening, and you're already calling me again?" Nina answered, her voice laced with immediate concern.
"I-I changed my mind," I blurted out in a single, rushed breath.
Both brothers tracked my words like hawks. Simultaneously, their large hands slid onto my chest, deliberately kneading and massaging my breasts through my uniform to mess with my head.
"Is there a problem, Rea?" Nina’s sharp voice came through the line.
"No! No problem at all," I choked out, an almost crying tone leaking into my voice as I desperately tried to make the conversation end so the brothers would stop touching me. "I just... I want to stay. If I leave, I know Rita, Jade, and Leo are going to be very sad."
There was a brief pause on the other end. "Okay then. You know you can come to my place anytime you want, right?" Nina said, waiting patiently for me to confirm.
"Yes. Thank you," I whispered, immediately hanging up the call.
The moment the screen went black, Vincenzo leaned down to plant wet, open-mouthed kisses across my collarbone.
"P-please... let me go," I sobbed, a fresh wave of tears breaking free.
"Princess, don’t you think it’s entirely unfair that you didn’t serve food this evening?" Vincenzo murmured, pulling back just enough to stare directly at my mouth. A dangerous, predatory flash ignited in his dark eyes. "I want my food now."
I opened my mouth to answer him, but his lips crashed onto mine in a hot, consuming kiss. My eyes went wide at the sudden aggression. I began to thrash, kicking my legs wildly in a desperate bid to break free, but a heavy hand pinned my knees down, ruthlessly parting them.
Vincenzo deepened the kiss, biting and suckling my lips with a bruising intensity, his tongue demanding entry, but I kept my jaws locked tight. Suddenly, a cold hand squeezed my left breast. A whimper escaped my throat at the unexpected sensation. Vincenzo immediately seized the opportunity. My head tilted back as he took advantage of my momentary lapse, leaving me unable to pull away."
I started struggling again, but the panic truly spiraled when I felt a large hand slowly sliding up the hem of my maid dress. My eyes snapped open, colliding directly with Velarius’s piercing grey gaze. A wicked, sinister smirk played on his lips.
"Don’t you think I should have a taste down here too, hmm?" Velarius whispered, his fingertips resting dangerously against the edge of my panties.
Vincenzo finally pulled his lips away from mine, leaving me breathless.
"P-please! Miss... Miss Jade will be looking for me!" I cried out, a small, desperate hope flaring in my eyes as my stomach suddenly let out a loud, hollow growl for food.
The brothers went still. Neither of them said a word for a long moment. Finally, Vincenzo eased his grip, allowing me to slide off his lap until I was standing on my knees on the floor. If it weren’t for his steadying hands lingering on my waist, my jelly-like legs probably would have collapsed right beneath me.
"Okay, princess. Go. Have all the time you want to yourself today," they murmured, a dark, unreadable expression settling over their faces.
But before I could move, Vincenzo pulled me into one last deep, aggressive kiss that practically knocked the remaining breath from my lungs. Simultaneously, Velarius hauled me against his rock-hard chest, capturing my lips in a bruising goodbye while his massive hands firmly gripped my backside.
"Run along, princess..." Velarius whispered hoarsely against my ear, biting the sensitive lobe slightly. "Run before we change our minds."
Aurea’s POV But before I could process any of it, a loud crash suddenly echoed through the kitchen.Every head in the dining hall snapped toward the doorway."Watch where you’re going!"A sharp, familiar voice cut through the heavy air.I walked out to find Rita and Lyra, both staring at each other. Lyra was leaning against the counter, filing her nails with a smug, cat-like grin on her face and Rita’s eyes filled with a dangerous, protective fire as she looked at Lyra."Actually, you're exactly the person I was looking for," Rita snapped, her voice trembling with rage. She stepped directly into Lyra’s personal space, ignoring the way Lyra scoffed. "You think you can just lay your filthy fingers on Aurea and get away with it?"Lyra didn't even blink. She slowly lowered her nail file, a nasty, venomous smile twisting her lips. She looked past Rita, her eyes locking onto me where I stood frozen in the corner."Oh, you mean that little charity case?" Lyra purred, her voice dripping with
Aurea’s POV I spun around instantly, sprinting straight for the heavy door without daring to cast a single glance behind me. I bolted out of their private wing and flew down the corridors until I reached the safety of my bedroom. Slamming the door shut, I slid down the wood and buried my face between my knees, sobbing uncontrollably. After a few minutes, I forced myself to my feet and walked into the washroom to clean my face. The girl in the mirror looked unrecognizable. My eyes were violently bloodshot, and my lips were swollen, bruised, and sporting a fresh, stinging cut at the corner of the lower lip.How did I get myself into this? I whispered to myself, pulling frantically at my hair. I’ve never hurt a soul in my life, so why is this happening to me? How do I even escape them? The police, who are supposed to protect citizens from people like them, are entirely terrified of their name. How am I going to survive this?I splashed freezing water over my face, carefully rewrapped th

Aurea’s POV “Don’t you think we need to punish you, hmm, princess?" Velarius murmured, his large, heavy hand resting on my waist and possessively kneading the flesh there. Before I could answer, Vincenzo's hand slid beneath my chin and forced my gaze upward."Tell us the truth," he said softly."I-I fell dow—""Think before you speak," Vincenzo cut in."I-it's sister Lyra," I said softly,I doubted they even heard me. There was no response from them. They looked far too calm for my liking. It felt like the calm before the storm."Brother, don’t you think our princess is hilarious for thinking she can actually escape from us?" Velarius asked, a wicked, knowing smirk plastered across his lips. The words hit me like a physical blow. Absolute horror flooded my chest. They know? That can’t be true.A soft, dangerous chuckle echoed from right behind me. Velarius' strong arms wrapped securely around my waist, lifting me effortlessly off Vincenzo's lap only to deposit me directly onto his."
Aurea’s POV It was almost five, and I had already packed my things, waiting patiently for my ride. I couldn't believe I would finally be away from them, I thought with a smile. My eyes darted to my phone. 4:02 PM. A few more minutes to go.I paced the length of my bedroom, sucking my lower lip. Five steps to the window. Turn. Five steps back to the bed. My hands twisted nervously in the fabric of my skirt, my breath catching in my throat with every swing of the pendulum. Knock. Knock.I froze mid-stride, one foot hovering slightly off the ground. The sound wasn't loud, but in the suffocating silence of my room, it hit me like a physical blow. "Aurea?" I quickly went to the door. It was one of the younger maids.I swallowed hard, forcing my voice to sound steadier than I felt. "Yes? What is it?""The masters are calling for you in their study room, they requested your presence immediately."I suddenly froze in place, the masters.Panic flared through my veins. My hands began to trem
Aurea’s POV “Rea! Rea! I just heard the ne—“Rita burst into the room looking worried as ever. “What happened?” She reached out gently to face. "Honestly, this isn't good. The Rossi brothers are the most feared men in this country. They won't hesitate for a second to ruin anyone who crosses them."A huge, suffocating knot formed in my throat. “But everything is gonna be okay, you just have to stay away from their way.”I was completely lost in my own thoughts as Rita kept rambling on, mentioning how jealous the other maids were. "But don't worry, girl," she added with a giggle. "Jade told me to tell you tomorrow, you'll be among the maids serving the Masters their breakfast so you can learn the routine. And honestly? They are so handsome you would literally die to give your life to them..."Rita kept on for about half a minute before finally leaving my room. I sighed in relief while smiling a bit and placed my head on my bed. It didn’t take a second when the door clicked open. Lyra,
