[Vivienne]

It’s been an hour since we found Axel, and he hasn’t stopped crying.

I understand his pain—his guilt. But he’s only five. He’s not supposed to feel that way. That bad. That deeply.

This is all my fault. I shouldn’t have left the kids alone in the first place. We are in a foreign country, in a foreign environment. What our kids needed was for us to make them feel safe, not leave them alone with some new and strange nanny so we could go to some stupid dinner.

Dammit!

“Mommy!” Axel hiccups, tightly holding on to the sleeve of my top while he sits on my lap. “Is Ben okay? Who were those people?”

I don’t know what to say, so I look up at Caden, who just got off the phone.

“Ben is fine, buddy,” he says, sitting next to us on the couch and ruffling Axel’s short hair with his big fingers. “I promise.”

“How do you know? Do you know where he is? Can we go see him?” Axel asks excitedly, his eyes growing bigger with every question that slips out of his mouth.

However, Caden shakes his

  • No Longer Yours, Ex Husband   Chapter 318

[Alexander]“You look strangely excited,” I comment, watching Mother as she sings some tune under her breath. I can’t make out the song, but it’s surely nothing depressing.Mother looks up from the magazine in her lap, her eyes bright as the sun. “Of course I’m excited. I have every reason to be.”That’s not what I expected her to say. After our conversation last time, I assumed she would still be pissed off. After all, I failed her. And if there’s anything this woman does not appreciate or respect, it’s a failed man.I perk up a brow. “What reason are we talking about here?”She smiles and leans close enough to whisper, “I’m finally meeting my grandson. Isn’t that exciting?”I look at her for a whole minute before I realize she isn’t kidding.“What?” I stand up from the chair. “When? How?”What I really want to ask is “why?” Because as much as I know how obsessed she is with Caden’s child, I didn’t expect her to be able to convince him to let his kid visit her on literally any occasi

  • No Longer Yours, Ex Husband   Important Update!

Hi,So… last month happened. My absence has been long—definitely not how I planned it. Let’s just say, despite trying everything and planning everything, I still wasn’t prepared (kind of like my home, which has been under mild renovation for over a month now).Anyway, if you’ve been keeping up with the little updates I left after some of the chapters, you’d know I was due last month. Surprise, surprise—because of my hypertension, the doctors decided to induce me early. And after going through 12 hours of labor, my child still decided to make an entrance via cesarean.Yup. That’s how crazy last month has been for me. Most of you have probably moved on, but to those of you still here—wanting to see this through as determinedly as I do—thank you for sticking around, waiting, and not giving up just yet. I’ll be trying to get back to updating this book soon, because god knows Viv and Caden deserve a happy ending—or at least some kind of ending, lol.Last but not least, thank you for your p

  • No Longer Yours, Ex Husband   Chapter 316

[Vivienne]Every time I think I have seen the worst, something happens and leaves me beyond frustrated and baffled for my own good. This time, it’s the audacity of Caden’s birth family. How can they be so shameless? Do they have no humanity? No emotions? No sentiments for their only child? The only thing they seem to care about is his perfection—the fact that he can represent their family or not, or if he’s worthy of their name.Right now, I want nothing more than to hold this man in my arms and let him forget about the kind of life he has lived. I want him to forget all the pain and betrayal and toxicity he has experienced since his childhood and live in this moment, where everything is selfless and loving and perfect. But I can’t even do that.Because this is not the moment I want him to have. In fact, this is not the kind of moment any parent should ever experience in their whole life.Axel and Ben are nowhere to be found, and that just… ugh… I don’t know what to do.However, befor

  • No Longer Yours, Ex Husband   Chapter 315

[Caden]I have never seen Vivienne this outraged before—this scared—but isn’t that exactly how I feel?I feel like this can’t be happening in real life, that Axel and Ben are just playing some weird hide-and-seek, and that this is probably just a nightmare. But as time passes and nothing can be heard about them, my chest grows tighter and stuffier. My head feels like a place too blank and crowded for its own good, and my frustration is beyond charts.Once Vivienne has threatened and shaken the manager to his very core, she shoves him away and runs a hand through her hair. I try to reach for her, but she starts pacing the lobby instead. She snaps her head at the manager, who still hasn’t moved, looking more shocked than ever.“Why are you still here?” she growls. That gets him moving—and his staff people, too. They all rush outside, taking out thei

  • No Longer Yours, Ex Husband   Chapter 314

[Vivienne] By the time we made it to the hotel, my heart was in my throat, and my head was buzzing with all kinds of impossible thoughts. Even though Caden does his best to calm me down—with his gentle words in my ears, with his soft and assuring touches—nothing seems to be working enough to make me completely relax. When we reach the reception lobby, the manager and two of his staff are already waiting for us. My voice is almost a scream when I open my mouth. “Where are they?” The manager stutters, “In your suite?” “Still?” “We were just waiting for you.” “For the love of God!” I throw my hands in the air and charge toward the elevator. Thankfully, one opens right when we reach, and we all get in, with Caden existing quietly by my side. During the ride, the manager once again briefs us on the situation. “This is an unfortunate situation, but I assure you nothing like this has ever happened before. Samiko is one of our best nannies. She’s absolutely wonderful with kids. I don
