Ryan’s POV

The blood drained from my face.

Maximilian wasn’t one to make idle threats. If he put his wealth and connections towards ruining Celeste, she’d face more than an online smear campaign–she’d never step into a studio again.

Not even as a janitor.

“Father, Celeste has done nothing wrong!” I said with indignation. “How could you threaten to destroy someone’s livelihood for your own gain?”

He tutted. “Don’t make me out to be the villain, Ryan. You wanted control, and I gave it to you. Now make your decision.”

Celeste had worked damn hard to get where she was today. I couldn’t let her lose it all because of me and still call myself a man.

I had no choice.

“I’ll dazzle Michelle’s parents for you under one condition.” I said, voice harsh as a blizzard. “You must make provisions in your exclusivity contract to allow Rosemary to go into business with Hughes Industries.”

If I couldn’t stop my father from controlling my life, at least I’d fight for Celeste with the little power I had

  • No Way to Win Me Back   Chapter Three Hundred and Fifty-Five

Vanessa’s POVI knew the moment he did it.Damien thought he was discreet, slipping out in the evening, pretending he was “dropping off paperwork,” coming back smelling faintly of antiseptic and guilt. But I’ve lived my entire life reading men like him, watching for the slightest twitch, the smallest inconsistency.By the time he climbed into bed that night, stiff and restless, I already knew what he had done.He sent Atlas’s sample for a paternity test.My son.And the fury that surged through me was cold. I didn’t flinch. I didn’t scream. I didn’t even breathe differently.Instead, I smiled faintly in the dark and whispered, “Long day?”He murmured something. I didn’t care.He had doubted me. After everything, the humiliation I endured to be by his side, the way I rebuilt myself and our future after Celeste, the sacrifices I made without ever complaining, he doubted me.It was true that Atlas wasn’t his, but why was Damien even suspecting it?I should have expected it. Men like Damie

Damien’s POVI used to think I understood my own house. The rhythms, the sounds, the roles we each played, Bonnie tugging at my pant leg every morning asking if she could have jam or honey on her toast, Vanessa adjusting her lipstick while cooing at the baby, me straddling the line between protector and provider. But lately, nothing felt balanced. Everything felt… tilted. And today was the first time I let myself admit it.I walked into the living room that morning and found Bonnie standing near the sofa, shoulders stiff, fingers twisting the hem of her shirt.Across from her, Vanessa cradled Atlas, humming softly, completely absorbed in the tiny bundle she rocked.Bonnie said quietly, “I want breakfast.”Vanessa didn’t even glance up. “You’re old enough to get it yourself, Bonnie.”Her tone wasn’t cruel, exactly, it was worse. It was dismissive. Indifferent.Bonnie’s mouth trembled. She wasn’t used to that tone from Vanessa. She wasn’t used to competing for affection at all.I stepped

Celeste’s POVI didn’t realize how long it had been since I’d felt… settled.Like my bones had finally stopped shaking after weeks of holding myself upright through sheer will. Like my spine had remembered what it meant to be supported instead of braced for impact. The chaos Maximilian brought into our lives had left cracks everywhere, in me, in Ryan, in the delicate rhythm we’d been building. For days afterward, I walked through Rosemary with the strange sensation that my chest had been hollowed out and slowly refilled with something softer, something gentler.Every hour felt like a small recalibration to the truth we’d finally stopped running from.We had chosen each other. And we were learning how to rest in that choice. My recovery came in tiny, almost invisible shifts.Sleeping through the night without waking in panic. Eating meals without forcing myself. Letting my shoulders drop when Ryan’s fingers brushed mine in passing. Every time he touched me, even casually, something insi

  • No Way to Win Me Back   Chapter Three Hundred and Fifty-Two

Celeste’s POVI had been worried about Ryan for days. Truly, painfully worried in a way that lived under my ribs like a bruise.Ever since he had gone to confront Maximilian, the fear had lodged itself in me and refused to ease.I knew what it must have taken for him to stand against a man like his father. The weight of history. And he still chose me.He chose us.Every time I replayed that truth, something inside me tightened with awe and broke with guilt all at once.So when he suggested we go up to the rooftop of Rosemary for some air, I didn’t hesitate. That rooftop had always been ours. Just our quiet place above the chaos, the place where he listened more closely than anyone ever had, the place where I first let myself believe I could want him.Tonight, the sky was a soft, dusky lavender.A breeze carried the faintest scent of rain and city stone. The lights of the building’s terrace flickered gently, warm and familiar. My heart eased as soon as we stepped out.Ryan walked beside

Ryan’s POVRumors spread through the jewelry industry like wildfire, no, like gasoline poured over a spark and left to burn without mercy.By the time I reached my apartment, my phone was vibrating nonstop: messages from colleagues, designers, old investors, even journalists pretending to “check in.”Did you really confront Maximilian? Is it true Crown Luxe kicked you out?Are you stepping down as heir?Did Rosemary cause it?That last one nearly made me shatter my phone.None of the rumors were accurate. None of them were calm. And yet, all of them had the same beating heart: Maximilian Edward’s empire had cracked, publicly, for the first time in years, and people were hungry for the spectacle.I should have been used to this. I grew up in these boardroom shadows, in these circles where power leaked through whispers long before it reached the light. But hearing my name woven into it… seeing Celeste dragged into it…It churned something ugly inside me.I had barely taken two steps towa

  • No Way to Win Me Back   Chapter Three Hundred and Fifty

Celeste’s POVRyan had insisted we spend the evening doing something “normal,” which in our case meant takeout, a blanket fort in the living room, and a movie Molly had already watched twice this week.I didn’t have the heart to deny her a third viewing. After everything, the quiet mattered. The softness mattered. And being close to Ryan, close without the fear, felt like breathing without realising I’d been holding my lungs still for months.Molly sat between us at first, her tiny hands buried in a bowl of popcorn far too big for her lap.But ten minutes into the movie, she abandoned her bowl entirely and climbed straight into Ryan’s lap, curling against him like she’d always belonged there.I felt something warm, low in my chest, watching him tuck the blanket around her.He glanced at me once, almost shyly, and smiled. At some point I didn’t even notice our hands finding each other. It happened naturally, the way all the best things between us did, quietly, without announcement. My f
