GRIFFIN POV

I stared at my reflection in the mirror. My face had healed from the burns I'd suffered during the war, though faint scars remained as permanent reminders. I traced a finger along the longest scar that ran from my temple to my jaw.

"Admiring yourself again?" The sorcerer's voice cut through the silence like a knife.

I dropped my hand and turned. She stood in the doorway, her tall figure casting a long shadow across the floor.

"Just checking if your magic is still working," I replied dryly. "Wouldn't want your pet project looking damaged."

The sorcerer smiled, but it was an obvious forced smile. "Pet project? You should be grateful. Most wouldn't have survived those burns."

"Most wouldn't have been bound to someone else's life force either," I countered.

She stepped into the room, her long robes flowing against the floor. "Speaking of which, how are you feeling? Any discomfort?"

I knew what she was as

GRIFFIN POVI paced the floor of my small room in the sorcerer's house, the wooden boards creaking beneath my boots. The unease crawling up my spine wouldn't let me rest."Would you stop that? You're giving me a headache," Kael said from where he lounged in the corner.I shot him a glare. Unlike me, Kael had chosen to serve the sorcerer willingly. A mercenary with a taste for magic and mayhem, he had become my reluctant ally over the past months. Not a friend I didn't trust him enough for that. but useful."Something doesn't feel right," I muttered. "The sorcerer's been too quiet."Kael shrugged. "Maybe she trusts you're doing your job."I snorted. "She doesn't trust anyone.""Fair point." Kael stood and stretched. "So what's the real problem?"I hesitated, then decided to take the risk. "I need you to meet with the spy."Kael's eyebrows shot up. "The one in Nora's pack? Why?""Because I can't.

Nora POVI woke up feeling strange. Someone had been talking to me in my dream, calling out my name. I remembered letting out a powerful growl as if I had a wolf, but I couldn't tell if it was real or just another dream.I sat up in bed, my heart racing, sweat dampening my nightgown. The room was still dark, pre-dawn light barely filtering through the curtains. I pressed my palms to my eyes, trying to clear the fog from my mind."Not again," I whispered to myself. These dreams were becoming more frequent, more vivid. Each night, fragments of a past I couldn't fully recall visited me, leaving me disoriented when I woke.A soft knock at the door interrupted my thoughts."Come in," I called, quickly composing myself.Elara, my maid, entered with a tray of tea. "Good morning, my lady. I brought you coffee." I smiled and nodded. There was this concerned look on her face as she stared at me.

NORA'S POV I signed the last document and placed it in the completed pile with a satisfied sigh. Two days of handling pack duties while Carlos visited the Lycan Kingdom had left me exhausted but proud. I glanced at the clock—6:30 PM. My husband would return tomorrow, and I'd managed to keep everything running smoothly with my brother's help."Still working?" Justin leaned against the doorframe of the Alpha's office, arms crossed.I rubbed my tired eyes. "Just finished, actually. Who knew being Alpha's wife meant drowning in paperwork when he's gone?""That's why I'm happy being just the Beta," Justin grinned. "All the respect, half the paperwork.""Liar. I've seen your desk." I stood and stretched my stiff muscles. "Any word from Carlos?"Justin shook his head. "Not since this morning. The meeting with King George is probably running long.""Politics," I muttered. "I need some fresh air after being cooped up all day."

  • Nora: Rejected Lost Princess    Danger

GRIFFIN POV The vision of Nora in danger appeared in my mind. Without a second thought, I stripped off my clothes and shifted into my wolf form. Bones cracked and reshaped, fur bursting through my skin as I dropped to all fours. May the moon goddess, protect her. Keep her safe until I get there. I prayed fervently. Kael trailed behind me. I bolted for the door of my hideout, claws scraping against wood. The moment I leaped onto the porch, a familiar scent stopped me cold. I immediately stopped, my heart racing in my chest. 'Dang it!' I cursed within me. The sorceress blocked my path, her dark eyes flashing with fury. She was breathing heavily, and it was not because she was tired or exhausted. It was because she was angry with me. "Where do you think you're going?" she snarled. "You're going against our agreement, Griffin." I growled, hackles rising. No time for this. I shifted back to human form, not caring about my nakedness. "Nora is in danger," I said, grabbing p

Griffin POV My body went rigid. What I saw couldn't be real. Nora, vulnerable Nora grabbed the rogue wolf by the scruff with bare hands and flung him away like a rag or paper. The beast yelped, crashing into a tree trunk with a sickening crack. The remaining rogues circled her, fangs raised, claw sharp, but hesitation now clear in their movements. Nora stood, blood dripping from her torn sleeve, but she didn't seem to notice. Her lips pulled back in a snarl that looked wrong on her human face. Then she lunged at the closest wolf. Her movements weren't human. She twisted with impossible speed, ducking under snapping jaws and driving her fist into the rogue's ribs. Bones crunched. The wolf howled. I wondered what was going on. My eyes and mouth remained wise open in amazement. She grabbed another by the throat, fingers digging into fur until blood seeped between them. The wolf thrashed, claws raking her arms, but Nora didn't flinch. She squeezed until something gave way with a w

  • Nora: Rejected Lost Princess    Fearless. Lethal. Beautiful

CARLOS POVI decided to see Elder Silvarum and King George concerning Nora's condition. "The dreams are becoming more vivid," I explained, watching Elder Silvarum's ancient face remain impassive. "She's seeing things, calling Karen in her sleep." I talked about Nora's dreams for a while, trying not to forget any important part of her dreams. I told them about how strange she had been acting recently. King George leaned forward, his massive frame dwarfing the ornate chair beneath him. "Could it be a coincidence?"Elder Silvarum shook his head. "There are no coincidences with matters of prophecy." His eyes were fixed on me. "Continue watching her, Carlos. Document everything. Keep an eye on her, and make sure to relate every new development with me."I nodded, though questions still burned within me. Before I could voice them, something shifted in the air around me. A cold sensation gripped my chest, squeezing until breathing became difficult. Fear—raw and instinctual—flooded my se

Carlos POVI lay awake, staring at the ceiling of our bedroom as Nora slept beside me. Her breathing had finally steadied, but the memory of what had happened earlier still haunted me."Karen... Karen, please..." she had murmured, her voice desperately pleading.I had been drifting off when her voice cut through the darkness. At first, I thought she was talking to me, but as my mind cleared, I realized she was still asleep. Her face was tense, brows furrowed as if in pain or concentration. That name again. Karen. It wasn't the first time I'd heard it on her lips during sleep. For weeks now, this Karen had been appearing in Nora's dreams. Each time, I said nothing, hoping it was going to stop. I stood there, watching Nora sleep, her chest rising and falling with each gentle breath. But my mind was elsewhere, replayed on the words she had whispered in her sleep severally."Karen..." • Nora: Rejected Lost Princess    Secret Meeting

After years of watching the sorcerer from afar, learning her patterns, her associates, styles, and almost everything about her. That night something was different. The energy around the pack felt a little disturbed. Some unknown figures approached the sorcerer on that very night. Not the usual messengers or apprentices. These moved with unnatural grace. Power radiated from them in waves I could feel even from my hidden position. I knew I was not allowed to spy on the sorcerer, but I had been doing much of that lately. One of them knocked on the door, and turned around to peep before he faced the door once again. They seemed to be guarding their movements, and didn't want to be seen by anyone. Others were also looking around, trying to observe the environment. I knew how to hide my scent well enough, so I was safe in my hiding spot. The door opened, and the sorcerer's face was revealed. "You're early," she said. She still l

CARLOS"I placed a forbidden curse on her blood," Elder Silvarum admitted quietly. "A protection spell of sorts, though 'curse' is the proper term. If anyone drinks her blood with the intent to use its power—they will die. Painfully."I remembered the fire surrounding Nora, the power that had radiated from her. "Is that what happened today? This curse activated?""No." Elder Silvarum shook his head. "What you saw today was Nora's true power awakening. The curse is subtler. It lies dormant in her blood, waiting. If the Ancients try to use her blood as they intend—to create new life or extend their own—the curse will kill them."Hope surged again. "So she's protected? They can't hurt her?""Only temporarily," the elder said gravely. "The curse has limitations. It will only last for three days before fading. And the Ancients are clever. Once they realize her blood is deadly to them, they'll find other ways to extract what they need from

  • Nora: Rejected Lost Princess    What Did He Do?

CARLOS Everything happened so fast I could barely process it. One moment, Nora was collapsing after attacking Elara. The next, Elena was threatening our children, and Nora, my Nora was transforming before my eyes.It wasn't a wolf shift. This was something else entirely. Her hairturned a brilliant silver with streaks of gold running through it like liquid sunlight. Her eyes even in human form blazed like living volcanoes, amber and gold with touch of red that seemed to move and dance like actual flames.Power radiated from her in waves I could feel against my skin. The air around her was filled with heat, and actual fire danced across her fingertips, spiraling up her arms without burning her flesh. It reminded me of five years ago, when Nora had first changed. Back then, her transformation had been shocking enough, her eyes changing, her strength increasing beyond what was normal for a wolf. But this... this was something else. Something

  • Nora: Rejected Lost Princess    You Are Like Me

NORA'S POVI gasped as I looked at their faces. They appeared human at first glance, but something was off about their skin. It was too pale, their features too perfect. And their eyes... their eyes were just like mine. Each of them had those strange volcanic eyes I had seen in my own reflection. It was amber irises with touches of gold and red that seemed to glow from within, even in human form. I'd always thought my eyes were unique, strange. Now I was surrounded by people who shared this trait."You're like me," I whispered, the realization hitting me like a blow. The tallest of them stepped forward. Unlike the others who wore identical black robes, his was trimmed with silver symbols. His face was ageless. He could have been twenty or one hundred with high cheekbones and a strong jaw."We are the Ancients," he said, his voice the same one that had commanded me to enter. "And you, Nora, are one of us. Or at least, partly."My

Nora's POVMy heartbeat was faster, my mind wondering what was about to happen next. Even from afar, I could feel her hurt. I could understand her hurting, yet I was the one she intended to kill. The world came back to me in pieces. First sound, then feeling, then sight. I heard her voice, Sorceress Elena, cold with fury. She was going to take revenge, for Elara, her daughter.Who almost killed me. "Starting with these children." Her voice cut through my thoughts. My eyes flew open. Through the haze of pain still in my head, I saw Elena moving toward the building entrance where my kids were trapped in prison. Her hands were filled with dark energy, her face squeezed with grief and rage."No!" I screamed, pushing away from Carlos with strength I didn't know I had. My children. She was going to kill my children.Elena turned, her hair whipping around her face, her eyes glowing with power. "You've taken my daug

THIRD POVNora walked away from them, her mind spinning with the sorceress's demand. Give herself up to save her children? The choice seemed both impossible and inevitable. She wandered through the trees, needing space to breathe, and to think. She found a fallen log a short distance from the cave entrance and sank down onto it. The forest around her was very quiet, as if even the birds and insects sensed the dark magic nearby. Her hands trembled as she pressed them against her face, trying to hold back tears."They're discussing whether your life is worth saving the twins," a soft voice said from behind her.Nora looked up to find Elara standing there, her face partially shadowed by the trees."Elara," Nora said, quickly wiping her eyes. "I didn't hear you approach.""I move quietly," Elara replied with a slight smile. "It's a useful skill for a lady's maid."Nora nodded absently, her thoughts still with her children. "

THIRD POVElder Silvarum continued to talk about the sorceress and her relationship with Carlos and the twins, after everyone had slowly recovered from the shock. "The sorceress has powerful magic, but I believe we can track her.""How?" Griffin pushed off from the wall, suddenly interested."With blood," the elder replied simply. He turned to Carlos. "Alpha, although I don't possess sorcerer abilities myself, my bloodline carries ancient knowledge. And your blood will be the compass.""Whatever it takes to get my children back." "I can perform the tracking spell. I've done similar workings before," Katherine offered. "It's dangerous," Elder Silvarum warned. "The sorceress will have safeguards.""I don't care," Katherine replied dismissively. "Those are my niece's cubs."Carlos rolled up his sleeve and extended his arm. "Take what you need."Katherine glanced at Elder Silvarum, who nodded an

THIRD POV Two hours later, they gathered in the twins' bedroom. Nora had laid out their favorite possessions: Zack's toy sword, Zoe's stuffed wolf, their hair brushes still containing strands of dark hair. Her hands trembled as she arranged the items in the circle Kathryn had drawn on the floor."This should be enough," Kathryn said, kneeling beside the circle. She looked exhausted, dark circles prominent beneath her eyes. "But I need to warn you all. My powers have limits. Especially against someone like the sorceress.""Just try," Nora whispered.Griffin stood back near the doorway, watching the proceedings with a heavy heart. He knew better than anyone what the sorceress was capable of. The years he'd spent in her thrall had shown him the depths of her cruelty, and her power.Kathryn began to chant, her hands moving in intricate patterns above the circle. The air in the room grew heavy with magic, pressing against their skin like

THIRD PovNora fought, earnestly, not knowing which powers controlled her. Was this her hidden heritage or something new? As the fight became even more fierce, she struggled to keep watch over the kids. Not until, she smelled them and the danger around. Nora looked up sharply, her gaze fixed on two Ancients emerging, dragging small, struggling forms between them. Her blood ran cold as she recognized Zack and Zoe, their faces pale with terror as they fought against their captors' grip."Mom! Dad!" Zack shouted, his voice filled with fear."Let them go!" Nora screamed, light flaring around so fiercely that several nearby wolves whimpered and backed away. How dare these people touch her babies! As her anger filled the air, Nora heard the evil laughter of the sorceress. "Now, that's interesting. You've grown stronger than I anticipated. Perhaps those meddling fools didn't suppress your power as thoroughly as they thought."

Griffin Her questions were becoming annoying. I wished I could just ignore it. That perhaps you hope to earn her gratitude. Her affection." Kathryn's voice was gentle but firm. "If so, you should know it's unlikely. She loves Carlos, whatever problems they may have." "I'm not a fool," I snapped, then immediately regretted my tone. "I know she loves him. I'm not doing this to win her over." "Then why?" I stared at the floor, struggling to articulate what drove me. "Because I failed her once before. I won't make that mistake again." Kathryn seemed satisfied with this answer. "Very well. I'll need time to prepare properly." I rose to leave, but paused at the door. "Kathryn... thank you." She shook her head. "Don't thank me yet. This may kill you more quickly than the sorceress's curse. Plus, I'm not assuring you that it is going to work." "At least it will be my choice," I said quietly. "For once."
