Last Summer

I called Cole for the umpteenth time today, I don't know why I still bother. He's been avoiding me ever since he found out the truth.

All his promises about nothing coming between us are so fucking empty now. He makes empty promises and it seemed so easy for him to just give up on me. Why was it so easy for him? How was it so easy for him?

I wonder if he's okay though. Things aren't the same without him. And I know that what I'm about to say will sound very rude but "I really wish he wasn't my brother." I said out loud and my boss, Mary frowned at me.

"Who are you talking to, bubba?" She asked me and I just shook my head at her.

"No one," I replied shortly before shooting her a cute smile and she winked at me before she took a slice of chocolate cake over to a man dressed in a gray suit.
