Shane smiled mysteriously, "You will find out later, Charlotte."

Charlotte stared at her husband unblinkingly, hoping he would explain something. Instead, the husband whose age she did not know said, "Well, let's get ready!"

"Huh?" Charlotte’s mouth opened slightly.

Shane pointed to the front with his index finger, "It's up ahead, we've arrived."

Charlotte immediately turned her head in the direction he was pointing and instantly.

Without her realizing it, the car she was riding in had already arrived near Rosalia's street.

"Uh, how come it's so fast!" Charlotte said while showing a look of astonishment.

Shabw chuckled softly, "Because you were busy chatting with me, you didn't realize."

Charlotte pursed her lips, but she did not reply to anything. In fact, chatting with her husband did make her lose track of time.

It was strange indeed. Although they had only met twice, she felt quite comfortable talking to Shane.

As soon as they got off, the car left the couple.

Charlotte raised her right eyebrow, "Why, Shane? How come you didn't pay?"

"I did earlier," Shane replied with a faint smile.

"Uh, when? How come I didn't see?" Charlotte looked at her husband with a half glare.

"Not cash, Charlotte. I ordered it earlier," Shane replied, clarifying his words.

"Oh!" Charlotte said with her face flushed as red as a fresh tomato.

Oh my! She felt so embarrassed that she forgot about it. It wasn't that the woman with the white skin didn't know about e-wallet or M-banking. Of course she did.

The woman whose full name was Charlotte Lewis did not live in a cave. It's just that she very, very rarely uses such things.

What's more, her salary from working as a bakery employee was always in cash so she rarely saved money in the bank.

Seeing Charlotte's blushing face, Shane held back a smile. Since he didn't want to embarrass his wife further, he quickly said, "Uh, come on in!”

"Uh, okay."

In front of Rosalia's house, there was a cart that read "Hotdog". Rosalia was indeed a hotdog seller. She had been in the profession since she was married until she was 55 years old.

Rosalia’s husband passed away and she was not blessed with any children.

Therefore, Rosalia was very close to Charlotte and considered her as her own daughter.

The new married couple entered Rosalia's house and were greeted cheerfully by the owner. Rosalia told them about the guest who had kept her away during Charlotte and Shane's wedding earlier that morning.

"I had an order, Charlotte. I'm sorry, so I couldn't stay long," Rosalia said, looking sorry.

Charlotte shook her head, "It's okay, Aunty I understand."

"Did you have a lot order earlier, Aunty?" Shane asked enthusiastically.

Rosalia nodded vigorously, "Yes.”

Charlotte was happy and immediately asked further questions.

Kirana couldn't wait to ask her aunt when Shane went to the toilet, "Aunty, how long has Shane been working as a shoe solver? How long have you known him?"

Rosalia squinted, looking quizzically at her niece, "Haven't you asked your husband yet, Dear? Why are you asking me instead?"

Charlotte scratched the back of her ear, "No, Aunty. We just got married, there's not even a day left. I haven't had time yet."

"Well then, you can ask your husband directly," Rosalia said with a big smile.

“You see, Aunty ...."

The woman wanted to ask again, but unfortunately at that time Rosalia had a customer who came. She couldn't help but wait. However, as soon as the customer left, her husband arrived so she no longer had the opportunity to ask her.

In the evening, after Shane had showered, Charlotte invited her husband to have dinner with Charles and Barbara

"Sit down, Shane!" Charlotte said.

Shane sat down next to Charlotte.

Charlotte quickly asked, "What do you want to eat? Mom had cooked vegetables-"

"Uh, it's not for him. I cooked it for your father," Barbara said angrily as she moved the pot of eggplant.

Charlotte widened her eyes, "Oh my God, Mom."

"What?" Barbara said unhappily.

Charlotte really felt very embarrassed by her parents' attitude. She didn't dare turn to her husband.

"There's no free food here," Barbara added.

Charlotte sighed softly. Had it not been raining outside, she would have bought some side dishes at the stall.

Unfortunately, since the afternoon, the rain had not stopped so she could not go out.

However, unexpectedly her husband whispered softly, "Don't worry about it! It's okay!"

But Charlotte couldn't let that happen. And she suddenly remembered the money her husband had given her this morning so she said, "Wait a minute, Mom!"

Barbara frowned as Charlotte got up from the chair and went into her room. But within minutes she was back in the dining room and handing her mother some money.

"Here it is, Mom. For the capital of my shop," Charlotte said confidently while glancing at her husband with a sweet smile.

Shane smiled back, pleased that his wife seemed calm.

Barbara was so shocked that she just stared at the money without touching it.

Charles, who saw that money, immediately picked it up and asked, "Have you been paid yet? How unusual?"

He then counted the money and was even more surprised, "Five thousand dollars? Isn't your salary two thousand dollars, Charlotte? You also usually give usna thousand dollars."

"Five thousand dollars? Really?" Barbara repeated with an incredulous look.

"It's true, darling. Here, count it if you don't believe me," Charles replies, handing the money to his wife.

Barbara impatiently counted it, then suddenly looked at her daughter with her right eyebrow raised, "Where is this money from? You don't steal at your workplace, do you?"

Charlotte who had been smiling cheerfully now immediately lost her cheerfulness, "Stealing? Mom. Of course not."

Shane herself also looked surprised by her mother-in-law's reaction.

"How can you accuse Charlotte of that?" Shane said in surprise.

"Where did you get this money? How could you have this much, Charlotte?" Barbara asked as she played with the money on the table.

Charles shook his head, "Aren't you afraid of being fired? What would you be if you were fired?"

"Your father is right. How can you rely on your shoe-soldering husband?" Barbara said with a displeased glance at her son-in-law.

Charlotte bit her lip, "I can. I can rely on my husband."

Charles chuckled, giving his son-in-law a dismissive look.

“Come on, Charlotte. A cobbler earns less than a quarter of your salary," Charles taunted.

Charlotte shook her head firmly, "No, you're wrong. The proof is that the money in your hand is the money Shane gave me."

Barbara, who was playing with the money, immediately stopped what she was doing. She turned to her son-in-law, who had rarely spoken before, and she laughed mockingly.

"Don't be silly! How could-"

"It's really Shane’s money, Mom. And you know that I never lie, right?" Charlotte said convincingly.

Hearing Charlotte’s words, Barbara and Charles were wide-eyed.

"What?!”

Instead, the old man said, "Shane. You are also a man."He stood up from his chair and looked at Shane as if assessing what his son-in-law was thinking. "And that's why I can also tell that you must be thinking of a foul plan to bring another woman into your household. Right?" Charles said with a slight glare.Barbara said again before the couple could argue, "You are, Charlotte. Wives, don't be so stupid and don't obey your husbands too much. Charlotte became increasingly uncomfortable and she then said to her husband, "Just a moment, Shane. Let Mita stop by for a moment. Earlier ... she was vomiting. When she's picked up, it's okay to go home." Shane was surprised to hear his wife's words so he asked, "Why did you vomit?""Well, Mita took the bus with me and it turns out she's never taken the bus before. So ... maybe because she was not used to it and was shocked that she vomited," Charlotte explained.Shane gaped and looked at his younger cousin with a shocked gaze. In his gaze, it was as if he was asking, 'Are you taking the bus? Isn't that wrong?'However, Mita casually answered her cousin's gaze by saying, "Look, Shane. I ... feel close to Charlotte and like being friends with her. So, even though I almost couldn't make it on the bus, I still wanted to come here."Then, the young girl again gave a look like a little kitten and said again, "I've been struggling to vomit like this, how come I wasn't given permission t

You never join our neighborhood activities. Well, if your husband doesn't forbid you, who does?"Charlotte exhaled and tried to be more patient again, "Gosh, Wina. Can you not guess about anything including the reason why I never go out anymore or participate in neighborhood events?"Wina rolled her eyes as if reluctant to listen but Charlotte continued to explain, "Just so you know, I can't participate in neighborhood events around here because I don't have time.""Ih, you're really busy, Charlotte. You've never changed, being the best and feeling better than everyone else," Charlotte said, sounding sarcastic.Mita was quite surprised by the words that so clearly said that Charlotte had always had

Charlotte asked in a tone that sounded very worried.Mita swallowed her saliva with difficulty. She seemed to know that she was not well due to the constant shaking that had caused her stomach to churn. So when she heard Charlotte's question, she quickly nodded her head.Charlotte immediately offered a black plastic bag which made Mita even more nauseous. The girl subtly refused the object offered by her sister-in-law.Charlotte understood that and did not take offense. She then looked outside, "It's okay, we're about to arrive. Before Faye could reply to Charlotte, the young woman suddenly heard one of her close friends at the minimarket speak, "Never mind, Faye. When we debate with Charlotte, we lose."Faye clucked her tongue but then she nodded in agreement, "Oh, that's true. It feels like we never win when we argue with her.""Yeah, that's why it's useless so whatever Charlotte and her allies want to say," Abby said, who then pulled Faye's hand away from the area. Mita just shook her head at the behavior of her two coworkers and let out a long breath. The girl commented, "I wonder! They don't like you that much, Sister. How strange!" Charlotte just chuckled in response and instead asked Mita to help her with something else so that they would no longer discuss the matter. The day of preparation for the event held by the big company ended smoothly. Charlotte was quite exhausted when she said goodbye to her coworkers before she left the minimarket. Her husband could not pick her up so she walked alone t

Cecilia and Percy were silent when they heard Charlotte's words as if they realized that even though they knew Charlotte was laughing at them, they could not argue anymore. Therefore, Charlotte casually said, "Well, I guess we have to excuse ourselves first, Dad, Mom."However, before Charlotte could pull her husband's hand away, he gently said, "Honey, wait a minute. I have something to give to mom and dad."Charles and Barbara looked at each other in confusion but they didn't respond and remained silent. Shane reached into his backpack and pulled out a white envelope and placed it next to his father-in-law's plate. "Dad, this is the money you asked for yesterday," Shane said.Barbara glared in shock, while Charles glanced at the envelope with a surprised look. Cecilia and Percy, meanwhile, only glanced at it. However, Shane didn't wait for his in-laws' reactions and instead got up from his chair. The young man said, "Excuse me, Dad. Charlotte seems to be tired and needs to rest
