Aiden’s pov

It was that time of the night. Guests were already trooping in. I paced the floor of my bedroom, my mind wrapped around how to figure out a way out of this nightmare.

A sharp knock hit my door.

"Yes?" I called out, keeping my voice smooth and trying to hide my panic.

A maid stepped inside, bowing her head.

"Young Master... your father is waiting for you downstairs. The Bath family will be arriving shortly."

"Of course they will," I muttered under my breath. They wouldn't dre

Mathew’s povI could see the attraction crackling between both of them and it was eating me up inside. As I walked away, I knew her eyes were fixed on Aiden, and it hurt so badly.Just then, my phone rang. I picked it up to find it was my brother, Oscar.“Hey…” he said.“Hey…” I replied, knowing full well why his voice sounded so cold.“I’m on my way.”“Are you going to keep acting this way toward me?” I asked, but he said nothing further before hanging up.It wasn’t his fault; it was entirely mine. I had used him without letting him in on the plan beforehand.Driven by my own curiosity, I had thought it wise to plant an eye inside the house. To pull it off, I had faked a story using my brother as the anchor just to have him stay close, this wasn’t about the game, this was because of Aiden and Lila and how close they had gotten to be. It had worked perfectly or so I thought. When I got back home yesterday to share the good news, he hadn’t seemed at all pleased with it.It was the same

  • Not my spec   Chapter 162

Aiden’s pov I don’t know why I even let myself lose control just for a taste of her lips. Asking me that question if I regret anything was same as saying I regret knowing her but I never did, I would have so much said it but my mouth couldn’t say the words, all it could do is act. I may be mad, upset, frowning at all her wrongs but that’s one thing that made me like her even more, her imperfections, it made everything about her perfect. A hard girl with a bad attitude that knew how to get under my mood, no lip gloss, no make up to make me move but I’m certain her face alone was enough to make me groove. I just hoped my action answered her question but deep into the kiss Deep into the kiss, she pushed me away, I thought it was her way of saying fuck off until Mathew stepped in, that way the puzzle was solved. But….how did she know he was coming? The thought hit me. While talking to Mathew I had brought it up. “Did you tell Lila about this spot?” I asked him and he took a step ba

Lila’s pov I don’t know when the words left my mouth… “Do you regret kissing me?” It was a quiet question thar weighed on my heart but it bothered me more that I let it out, I don’t know why. I wasn’t expecting an answer from him but as he turned slowly my eyes followed him. Aiden looked at me, I wouldn’t say his eyes was filled with emptiness but whatever that look is, I could never understand it. He walked towards me in a haste and stood before me, my heart was pounding by every move he made. That was a dump question to ask I don’t even know why I asked in the first place but my heart needed to hear him say something. My eyes remained fixed on him when he suddenly leaned on my face, I could feel his breathe all over my face as he pressed onto my lips. Whatever that explained I hoped it answered my question, absorbed into the depth of his kiss, the world around us collapsed, making a universe for just the two of us. My hands grew itchy for more closure, a hold around his face

  • Not my spec   Chapter 160

Aiden’s pov After the morning's drama, I needed some space to clear my head. I wanted a clean slate, and as I thought about how best to relieve myself of this nightmare and all the stress, only one solution came to mind, something I had been doing for years. I hadn't driven my car to the beach house, but I could call my driver whenever I wanted. I quickly dialed his number and asked him to pick me up. Once he arrived, I climbed into the back and had him take me to my favorite spot. This place had been one of my secret hideaways since I turned 14, a spot I used to visit exclusively with my best friend. I remember how it all started. I was heading to the garage, my secret lair on Clog Street when Mathew caught me snooping around. I had bought a cigarette and quickly hid it behind my back. "Where is he off to?" he asked, giving me that suspicious gaze. I just shook my head quietly. "Nowhere," I told him, but he kept looking at me sideways. I kept my hand wrapped tightly around th

  • Not my spec   Chapter 159

Lila’s pov There were too many things happening all at once but how I got mixed up in all this? I’m so drained. I could just walk away and want to part with it any more but I had more at stake. My whole life was at stake, if I don’t return back to school with a report of good conduct, I’ll be cut off entirely, my allowances and priviledges, taken from me so I had to comply, act like a good girl and just do as told, else who was Mathew to tell me what to do, but there was something that frightened me even more. It was the way he looked at me, it had changed, not the way I have known him for some time now, it was now more serious ,carrying more sense of responsibility than I had known, like someone who was on guard, like a guard who cares. Looking at him as he walked away, I saw Aiden watching far off but as I looked at him, he walked away too. Something wasn’t quite right with him but what concerned me more was Mathew, how do one say I was getting twirled in a swirling wind in th

  • Not my spec   Chapter 158

Aiden’s povAbout to step into my room when I heard the sound of a revving vehicle, I stopped walking, I turned around wandering who it was, when I saw the yellow Lamborghini parked outside, I knew who it was, and there was only one person who drove like that. But what was he doing here now? This morning? Why can’t he just be normal like everyone else.He got out of the car slowly. Wore his sunglasses and looked at the sun. Such a drama king, what was he doing here and now? I stood where I was waiting for him to be done with his performance, that was when he noticed me and walked over to my side.“Hey Bro….” he talked to me, “You should be out in the sun playing in the sand with…” he paused studying my restrained mood. “Of course, I guess I’ll be shut up”.I wasn’t in the mood to talk to him after talking to Rayna but he was already here and there was no avoiding him.“What are you doing here, I’m not ready to see you yet?” I started but he just smiled back at me, ready to display one
