It kept ringing and I didn't want to pick it up since I had no idea who was calling.

“Come on. Pick up. Who knows it might be the handsome hunk” Annie joked.

“No, it's not him. He has no reason to call with an unknown number…” the words died in my throat as I remember I had blocked all his access to get through me.

The ringing stopped for a minute and started again. “Alright. Just pick so we know it's not urgent.”

I picked, bringing it to my ear. “Hello?” I said hesitantly.

“Petals?” He said and I heard the relief of breath from his side.

I might be imagining it or not.

“Petals.” He called again and my whole body swooned at how deep his voice sounded.

And I didn't know when I replied. “Yes.” I breathe out.

Thank God, I was sitting down because I felt I was falling so fast. Annie and Jess are long forgotten.

“How have you been?” he asked
